  • I think your best bet is to be more consistent with logging. Also, I don't see a lot of fruits and vegetables, eating a bit more healthy could help you too..(not criticizing, just a suggestion) Also, are you meal planning? I know sitting down on Sunday and writing down what I'm going to eat for the entire week really helps…
  • You can do this! Your health is in your hands and that can be a powerful tool! MFP will help show you what you are eating and what areas you need to change etc. More vegetables is a great place to start :)
  • A half hour is a great starting point! Your body will slowly start to adjust and you will find yourself going longer and longer. Can you walk outside too? I know that helped me with distance too!
  • I try to have a snack in the morning after breakfast, I will have a smoothie, then a few hours later PB on a celery stick, then lunch..then another snack after lunch and it will usually carry me over until dinner. It doesn't seem that you're eating enough during the day and then just go way overboard when you get home. Do…
  • The workouts are good and can be really helpful. The shakeology stuff..not so much. Drinking that didn't help me any more than eating a well balanced, healthy diet would. Not to mention it's way overpriced.
  • I didn't with my son and I seriously regret it, so with my next I will definitely be using MFP. I talked to my doctor at my last appt and she said that as long as you have the right amount of calories, she's all for it.
  • I have a thyroid issue and have had one for my entire life, just about. I started losing weight about 4 years ago and it was because I was just so frustrated with how I looked and felt. My best friend started me on MFP and I started blogging to keep myself accountable. I got pregnant with my son, had him and gained 60…
  • Welcome and I'm so sorry for the loss of your wife. Best of luck in your journey!
  • I honestly don't think that's healthy, eating that few calories. :-/ I know I'd get a headache and not be a very happy camper. You can eat healthy and go out and be social. Just limit how much you're drinking and the fried foods etc you're eating. Maybe 1-2 drinks instead of 2-4 which I know can be hard when you're out…
  • Agree with the above. I would just make dinner (if you're looking for good recipes check out Skinnytaste.com) and if he doesn't like it, well then he can make something else. My son is a super picky eater (he's 1.5) but I Just give him what we have and if he doesn't eat it, he doesn't eat it. He drinks his milk and eats a…
  • I'm so sorry they did that, that is terrible! I've dealt with bullying in the workplace as well, it's so hard. I agree with others that if your manager is not taking action to make it better, than you should take it to either a law firm or the HR person. That is unacceptable behavior.
  • What is the diet you're on? You shouldn't be starving, maybe a bit hungry at first but not starving. Do you have limitations as to what you can eat? If not, maybe having some more veggies etc will help? You can eat A LOT of vegetables and keep under your calorie count if that's what you're going for.
  • That's awesome that you gave up soda! I will have Mio every now and then too if I'm having a rough morning!
  • In regards to your first question: Outside for me! It's the best because I go early in the morning and there isn't a single soul out and barely any cars..just me, my music and the open road. Your second question, I've been getting back into it and I'm just starting to like it now and I'm 8 weeks in, so it just takes time.…
  • I did that once, it really messed with my sodium because there's quite a bit of salt in . They get really expensive after awhile unless you can get deals. My suggestion would be pretty simple, take what you have for you and your Boyfriend and portion it out before you eat it. Then BEFORE you eat take whatever is leftover…
  • I was a self proclaimed "soda addict" for many years. I did not drink water at all, had so many cavities and a lot of stomach problems from it. Back in November I finally just stopped drinking it all together. I had headaches for a few days, but would have one cup of coffee every now and then (I've since switched to tea).…
  • You definitely want to split your calories up more, I like to have around a 300 Cal breakfast, then a snack that's around 100-150 calories, then lunch which is usually around 300 as well and a small snack in the afternoon, then dinner which is normally around 400-500 calories. It keeps me full during the day and if I feel…
  • 38, taken and lawyer or some type of corporate manager position
  • I have a gallon jug at my desk that has lines for every three hours or so. I try to keep on schedule with it and it helps. Drinking a lot of water really helps me to feel better I've noticed, especially when I'm working out.
  • Yes, it could definitely happen. With an untreated underactive thyroid, it can be almost impossible to lose weight. I have a huge issue because I have to stay 100% true to taking my medicine otherwise I will gain weight very easily, it's extremely difficult to regulate.
  • I just looked at your diary and at least for today, it doesn't seem you are eating enough. The minimum you should be eating is 1200 calories, try to add in some more protein and snack on veggies when you get hungry! I like to keep snack veggies (carrot sticks/celery/snap peas) in my desk with a little bit of hummus or…
  • Hi! Good luck! I lost 25 pounds and then had a baby and gained 60. I've lost 20 so far and am working on the rest. It's hard but logging your food and being honest about it and exercise are key! You can do this!
  • It can take time for it to come off at first, be patient. You want to drink a lot of water and like the previous poster, watch your sodium intake. That was something that was huge for me, once I cut down on the amount of salt and sugar I was eating, things started happening. Keep logging your food, be consistent. When I…
  • I'm an admin, so basically the same. I get up at 4 to get my work out in, I'm pretty lucky that my company has a gym in the basement. I also set alarms on my outlook during the day reminding me to get up and move. I usually get up and walk around my cube every half hour or so, then on the hour I will get up and do a "big…
  • You can totally do C25K! I had never run before in my life and I started that and was able to do a 10k! I had to take a break for a year or so after I had my son, but I'm back to it again. Don't sell yourself short  I personally run because it is my only alone time. I just love the feeling of being outside and…
