  • I am not addicted. I have never yet got up at night to check here  Most of the day though
  • The problems I have with GW are: 1. GW2 - This does not work on a Mac, so I have to wait until Crossover get it working before I can try it. 2. GW1 - I have an ID although I have not played for ages. The problem is that they have introduced a new security measure where you have to enter the name of one of your character…
  • Thanks. I guessed it was something like that. More exercise then
  • Not been here for 5 weeks yet, but I really hope so. It is a great incentive to think that I could reach that in only 5 weeks. My real target is predicted for mid-November - which seems such a long way away. However, my '5 week target' is usually just under or just over 200 pounds. That in itself would be a nice stage to…
  • I remember that Cataclysm really screwed my level 80 Death Knight. She was a complete wimp after the expansion was installed.
  • My Daily Allowance is 1300 and I have trouble trying to reach that. Admittedly, I am getting a lot of exercise at present, so I have a lot more calories to use up. I don't think I have been over the 1300 limit since I started with MFP. I try not to be be too far under though. Not sure if it would be more effective to be…
  • Sadly this does not work on a Mac. Hope Crossover get it working as soon as possible.
  • Tom, 59 yesterday, UK. I am a DM on The World of Avlis. I play WoW a lot. Also, STO, EVE, Sims3, TradeNations on iPad, etc. Currently at 216 pounds from 251 - heading towards 184 I hope. Been fighting to lose weight since I ended up in hospital in February (Gallbladder problem - still awaiting an op to remove that). Five…
  • I really hope they don't dumb it down any more after Cataclysm. I miss the way Hunters had to wait until level 10 and then go to a special Trainer to learn to tame a pet. Similarly with Paladins and their personal horses. Also, Warlocks had to fight to tame Voidwalkers and Succubuses (Succubi?). Now you just reach the…
  • I have been going since February, with over 4 stone to lose. It seemed hopeless for a while. However, I am now more than halfway there. It has taken five months, so I expect it will take almost the same again - which will be a nice Christmas present  I think the part I find most difficult is the apparent lack of…
  • Since I started trying to lose weight, I have also started reading the back of packages when food shopping. Hard work with my eyesight. I even started carrying a small magnifying glass. I don't actually rule out any food that I like. I just note the number of calories, so I am aware of the effect of eating one thing rather…
  • No idea how much 8 cups of water would be. However, I have managed 1.5 litres so far, over about 2 hours. Is that enough? Other liquids as well of course, like tea and milk on my cereal  Edit - it seems a cup is 250ml, so 4 cups to the litre. I have already drunk 6 cups. Can you overdose on water?

  • Not quite that bad, but it is a bit depressing. You work hard at the diet and the exercise, you have a really good and productive day and then you wake up still feeling tired, weigh yourself and you have gained weight. :noway: It doesn't help that it is my Birthday today - so I was hoping for a good result on the scales to…

  • It makes sense I suppose. It was a hot day and I walked a lot, so I would have been sweating a lot. It is hard to force down that much water. I feel bloated and spend a lot of time in the bathroom  Does the water retention pass again once I drink and rest?

  • 59 in two days time. Even worse, as we get older, our BMR gets lower - so we have to eat even less. Just past half way to my goal so far.
  • I am 59 on Wednesday. Everything is harder to do when you are older. However, I think it does get easier to set a goal and be determined enough to reach it. When I was younger I was more likely to decide to do something and then give up too soon because it was not working.
  • I want to get into the 'normal weight' band with my BMI. Originally I was officially 'obese'. Now I am down into the 'overweight' category. I know some people say BMI is not that useful, but it is a target to aim for. Also, I want to look down and see my feet instead of my bulging stomach
  • Warwickshire :-)
  • Not yet managed to use up all my daily allowance of calories. It really hurts to be told to eat more when I am trying to lose weight. This does include trying to make up for exercise of course. Wonder if I would lose more weight if I sat around doing nothing like the fat slob I used to be?
  • Just tried this for the first time. It was Merchant Gourmet ready-to-eat red and white quinoa. Just heated it up in the microwave and ate it. Didn't want to risk wasting anything else in case I found it inedible :-) For future use, does this replace the rice or potatoes, or is it a substitute for meat? Judging from the…

  • This is probably not what others want to hear, but since I was in hospital in February and had to start dieting I have found it hard to eat my way up to the recommended daily allowance. Sorry :-) However, one thing I have decided is that finding my weight has gone up a little instead of down (or just not going down) is not…
  • I am trying the SlimFast meal replacements at lunchtime - so far I find the shakes not really enough to take away the hunger. The chocolate crunch bars are a little more effective. Possible reasons might be either that the shake does not involve actually eating and chewing anything, so it doesn't feel like a meal or that…
  • I tried them recently. The shakes are not bad but don't really replace a full meal - not do the chocolate crunch bars. I tend to eat a snack as well. However, the most difficult part with their plan is having a main meal of 600 calories. I haven't eaten 600 calories in one meal since I gave up fried food in February. I…
  • Good work.
  • Better than the fructose syrup in fast foods I would say. Have to admit I had noticed that the fruit I eat (apples and bananas) do seem to contain a lot of sugar. Expert advice would be welcomed please?
  • So what does it taste like? Does it have less calories than rice? How about Quorn and Quinoa? Has a nice ring to it - especially if you don't pronounce Quinoa correctly :-)
  • I weigh myself morning and night, just out of curiosity really. I don't worry too much if there is not much change - or even if the change is the wrong way from one weighing to the next. Oddly enough, some days I am exactly the same weight night and day - for several days. On other occasions I am a pound or so higher when…
  • I think some people tend to concentrate on their own dieting problems. They expect others to support and sympathise but don't give back in return. We are all here for the same reason - we want to lose weight. Therefore, we need to be supportive of each other - whether our own efforts are going well or we are struggling to…
