I HAD PCOS and Insulin Resistance. I lost 101 pounds on the Insulin Resistance and it cured both things. Low carb is the only way to lose weight with PCOS. It's a long journey but worth it. =)

THIS I have celiacs and if it's really bothering you, there is no "gradually". I stay away from "Gluten Free" labeled products all together. The added sugar and crap they put into it to help sub the gluten is enough to keep me away. Plus, it is usually higher in Calories. Paleo is a really simple way to stay Gluten Free.…

I didn't start taking before and after photos or measurements until I had already lost about 25 pounds. I regret it so much because I don't know the accurate inches I've lost! However, my before and after photos make me cry sometimes. I never really considered myself to be that unhealthy but looking at those photos....I'm…

TATTOO!!!!!!!! Come on people, spell a simple word.

Almond flour has a 1:1 ratio. I wouldn't use coconut flour for anything but baking!

Runner's Cramps! I heard you get them when you don't have enough hydration and oxygen in your blood system. I had them too when I first started C25K but I make it a point now to drink more water!
-
I just started the C210K....I can honestly say that C25k has changed my life and has been the best thing that I've ever done for myself.

I too work 12 hour days, 6 days a week. I look at my exercises like an important meeting and I schedule them into my week. Bosses don't cancel! It is alright to take "me" time for yourself. No one should EVER be mad at you for wanting to improve your health. If you want it to happen, it will.

This isn't really weight loss related but it made me teary none the less... My friend posted this on my facebook this morning. She has two twin daughters that are about 3/4 years old. "So my girls like to scroll thru facebook on my phone to look at pictures, and molly was scrolling and saw your profile pic and said 'oooh…

I've kept 100 lbs off for 4 months...not long term but that's awesome still! I just continue to eat whole foods and exercise 3 times a week.

Breakfast for dinner! Being an adult is awesome. =D

I read both articles and found them to be interesting and funny. I've wasted so much time on The Oatmeal... I have to admit that I'm guilty of a number of these things discussed in the article. However, I was almost 300 pounds 2 years ago. After working VERY hard to lose 101 pounds and learning how to run, I'm just so…

I'd rather have saggy skin than the complications that come with Heart Disease, Strokes, Diabetes, etc. I've lost 100 pounds and I sag here and there. I don't care because I feel amazing!

lol, I limit my carbs and still have belly fat... I use the Insulin Resistance diet where I eat high protein and low carbs. Really it taught me how to properly portion control.

I agree with the posts above me. It depends on your goals. I use a HRM to tell me how many calories I burn. MFP has a way of really over estimating calories burned. Also, I'm starting a Maffetone Method of increasing running speed and distance. So I use my HRM to make sure that I don't go over in my Heart Rate. I use…

I found out I HAD PCOS and Insulin Resistance in April of 2012. I'm currently PCOS and Insulin Resistance Free due to the Insulin Resistance Diet and tons of exercise. PCOS is not a death sentences, and if you're not eating low carb start RIGHT NOW! I'd love to have you (or anyone) as a friend. Open diary for friends!

I once had PCOS but over the last 15 months have cured it as well as my Insulin Resistance.... FRUIT is one of my favorite things in the entire world. I try and stick to my sugar macros on this website. However, I usually don't consume more than 2 services of fruit a day. Plums, Blue berries, peaches and apples are some of…

I just completed Week 7 of C25k.... Ladies, PLEASE stick with this program! You wouldn't believe what participating in this has done for me mind, body and spirit! Since I started training I've done four 5k races....two in which I ended up placing third in my age group! Also, it has changed my body and brought me out of my…

THIS! All day long! Every morning I woke up and asked myself...How bad do you want it?! If you're answer isn't "pretty damn bad" , things will never change.

Take a slow, your body will tell you what to do! Good luck. =)

As someone who has Celiac's disease.... Gluten Free diets are a fad diet. Period. Being over in the Gluten free section I've heard many of people discuss their desire to start it to lose weight and how this "diet" is the way to go...yada yada. I even had a cashier ask me once "Oh you're on a gluten free diet, so how much…

^This And I wouldn't go Gluten Free unless you have to.

I'm on the Insulin Resistance diet for pre-diabetes and I'm Gluten Free. I stick to a 7 protein to 15 carb ratio that doesn't exceed 30 carbs at any meal. I have an open diary for friends if anyone wants to add me.

It's because they don't know any better. There is an alarming amount of people that have no idea about eating healthy or just being healthy in general. They are repeating what they've heard or read somewhere and just want to add to the conversation. Just smile and say thank you.
