I'm in!

That was the first thing I've done.... But as far as day to day eating with simple ingredients, I'm struggling. Most recipes include many ingredients and are hard to make for someone working 12 hr days, 6 days a week or are high in carbs.

I have PCOS and Insulin Resistance which was the cause of my damaged, dull hair and horrible skin. I started eating a low carb diet with a lean meat, drinking more water and properly portion control my foods. You can see in my profile photos has it has changed my skin and hair color. If anything, just try to eat healthier…

I'm a teacher too and refused to give out candy for anything! My classroom has a "check book" and they use it to buy extra privileges with it. I think they would kill a man for a day of outside free time! Personally, I would refuse to do. I would send in some dried fruit, nuts and carrot sticks. I tried that one day with…

I'm 5'7 and started at about 300 pounds. I went to the doctors when I was around 256 because I was so sick. I found out that I had PCOS and Insulin Resistance and I started the Insulin Resistance (link and balance low carb) diet in April of 2012. It's been a lot of work but it CAN be done.

If you're eating enough veggies, it's not.

People say this to me all the time and I can honestly say it has never been out of concern. I've decided on a few reasons why.... 1. This is their way of complementing you. They are actually really impressed with your weight loss and want you to know that you look fantastic just the way you are. 2. You're a lot…

Great NSV! I'm so proud of you and he's right, keep up the great work!

I've lost 101 pounds watching my carbs, but I also have diabetes and PCOS. I guess if you don't have a medical condition, you don't have to.

I woke up every morning and asked myself "How Bad I You Want it?" The Answer was always "PRETTY DAMN BAD!" My doctor put me on the Insulin Resistance diet (Link and Balance/Low Carb) when we found out my insulin levels were sky high. I also had PCOS due to my weight. Being sick all the time was a good motivator to do…

What really helped me with my Binge eating was planning my meals! It held me accountable to what I was eating and gave me a clear picture of what wiggle room, if any, that I had with my calories.

If you don't have a medical reason not to eat bread (Diabetes, Insulin resistance, gluten allergies) it's fine to eat in moderation.

I started at a 40D and am currently a 34C ... Seriously the best part of my weight loss!

Amazing and congrats on your accomplishments!

I wake up every morning and remind myself why I'm doing this. Losing weight is not just physical, it's mental! If your brain isn't into it, you're not going to do it. Also, I set realistic goals and know my limitations.

I LOVE THIS! Thanks for sharing!

I started doing the "Link and Balance" diet 16 months ago and have had amazing results. I stick to a 7 protein to 15 carb ratio that does not exceed 15 protein to 30 carbs at any meal. I was put on this diet because I suffered from PCOS and Insulin Resistance (Pre-diabeties). Really this diet has taught me to properly…

WOW! What a bunch of fantastic ideas and I'm so happy everyone shared their journey with me. I finally hit that 100 pound mark today! I still want to lose (at least) another 6 pounds and don't want to buy clothes until I'm fully done losing weight. However, what I'd really like to do to celebrate is take professional…

LOW CARB! I have PCOS and Insulin resistance and low carb has been the only thing to help me. I was diagnosed with both in April of 2012 and started following a "Link and Balance" diet where I learned how to properly proportion and what to eat. I stick to a 7 protein to 15 carb ratio that doesn't exceed 15 protein to 30…

I eat low carb and follow a diet called "Link and Balance." I stick to a 15 protein to 30 carb ratio and it has done amazing things for my body! I just started a Gluten free diet too. If you would like to add me and look at my food diary, you're more than welcome!
