  • Thanks Sarasota guy!
  • Thanks so much Andiechick!!!
  • I have not calculated the comparison completely. I run with run keeper and I have a HRM that I used in the past and can tell my intensity levels. I use the fuel band at this time as a motivator to keep moving and just get out there. Yesterday my fuel points were low so I decided to walk to the store which is something I…
  • I really like the Fuel band! It really depends what you want to use it for. I like it because it motivates me to reach a certain goal or fuel points. Looks good and is pretty durable. It does not do heart rate, but I also like that it syncs to my phone!.
  • I trying to find a central location to do a boot camp! Local park or place where there are some trees for some shade that is not to crowded. Any suggestions?
  • You are a great supporter! Love your motivation and dedication! Thanks for being there for me!
  • Yes its possible, but by now you probably already know this!
  • Losing weight and being healthy is a marathon and not a sprint. It’s not how fast you get out of the blocks but how consistent you are over the long haul. Abs are made in the kitchen. I am only guessing but whatever weight you are trying to lose took longer than 18 days to put on. As with what others have said measure…
  • Sara welcome to San Antonio!! where are you coming from ?
  • Exercise and good health are great for reducing stress and helping gain confidence. If you have not already done so create some small goals, write them down add them to your profile if you have not done so. This way your MFP friends know why you are working towards a healthy lifestyle and can better support you. It also…
  • Wow you are going to have to schedule some time just to read all the GREAT post!! Pick and choose from all the great ideas and then have at it!
  • Take a step back look and write down your schedule and look at all the little things you have going. As someone already mentioned look at your time wasters TV, Internet, Social media in general) is there a time you could turn your notifications off? Figure out whats important for you. Scheduling work out time also depends…
  • You ust keep doing what make you get to the gym!! Maybe do some intervals from time to time to change things up but just keep going!!
  • Its about working out. But check out this link when men and women switch places at the gym.. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/11/30/flip-side-video_n_2220370.html?ncid=edlinkusaolp00000003
  • Increase Intensity. Interval training go for 10 min 1 min high intensity 30 second low intensity. Then get off and do the same incorporate pushups, sit-ups, get some 5lb weights do military presses if you can’t afford weights get milk jugs fill with water and go from there then get back on the elliptical and repeat. Bottom…
  • Well not everyone around you will always be ready for the changes you wish to make. Maybe sign up for some type of event and let them know you are in training and maybe it will change their mindset. Unfortunately the more you reach for your goals and the closer you get can sometime cause issues at home with those closest…
  • If you are not able to find any groups then try starting one! Not sure where you live but in many cases there are others who feel the same and just looking for someone else to start. Try starting a group on MFP to see if there are any other local people working towards a healthy lifestyle. Set some some small easy goals…
  • Well no 1/2 or ful marathon for me this year. But I am starting to plan for next year. I will be 50 next year so doing the marathon would be a great goal for me.
  • Losing weight and being healthy is a marathon and not a sprint, it’s not about how fast you get out of the blocks but how consistent you are over the long haul. Set some small goals, identify your strengths and identify your roadblocks, get a core support group family, friends, online whatever it takes. Map out a plan,…
  • Unfortunately you will always have those people who doubt you even those close to you. But the great part about being on MFP is finding a core group of people who will support you and lift you up when you need it. It’s important to surround yourself with people who can share experiences that will motivate you when needed,…
  • Feel free to add me!!
  • Oh it a Love hate for me!! They hurt! But they burn so many calories! Great way to warm up!!
  • Looking at a start date 11/1. You can go to my FB page www.facebook.com/focusedonfitnesstx there is a video of modified burpees. Day 1 you do 1 burpee, day 2 you do 2 burpees, day 3 you do 3 burpees until you get to 100 days and 100 burpees. I’m thinking we are going to post pictures and short videos of us doing burpees.…
  • Very nice!! You can also walk the marathon! I walked the full marathon 26.2 about 8 years ago. It took me 7 hours to finish. We had a walking group that started before the actual event so we could finish on time. We did run a little but it was hard! I am really not a runner but I like to get involved with people who are…
  • It is a pleasure to connect with all of you on your journey to a healthy you! I would ask if you like or benefit from the information I provide please feel free to pass my name or websites along to those who you feel could benefit! I get really excited when I see people reaching their goals. I just recently posted about…
  • Everybody pretty much lives on opposites sides of the city. That’s all good. Its still nice to know where people are at who are working on similar goals! I have already added two of you and now going to add tgibbons!! Cool! Hope I can help motivate, encourage you during your journey. You don’t have to do it alone!!
  • Congrats on reaching your goal. Most things have already been mentioned. You will need to eat more protein which will make it seem like you’re eating a lot. I would go to the gym or to your health coordinator and get your body fat % and monitor that. At this point it’s less about your overall weight and more about how much…
  • Thanks for the add!! Time to make a difference!!
  • Congrats on your commitment!! Losing weight and being healthy is a marathon and not a sprint. It not how fast you get out of the blocks but how consistent you are over the long haul! You already have the commitment and goals and you are actively working so Success is surely in your future!! You Got This!!
