Parenting will always be the hardest job! With that said, lets get you at your best so you can continue to be great! Kudos for fostering. As an adoptive parent, I understand some of the issues you face and applaud your ability to something that scares me. here's an idea: Find a area, not the bed, that you can stretch out.…

Wait...you mean there is something to eat besides meat, potatoes and bread? Do tell!!! All seriousness, it can be hard to adjust your diet to someone that may not be in the program with you. Wish you luck! need to google "vegetables"

Is it a cop out...yes. Should you make smaller benchmarks for yourself....sure! Not everyone will look at a losing 30+ lbs the same way. Benchmark for 10lbs, see how you feel and re-evaluate. You may find that once you start getting closer to 200...you might want to achieve 170. You need to have a goal of health, not…

I would recommend getting the shoes now. Your workouts will require as much from you and your shoes. If you shoes are old or not up to the task, you may find yourself in pain, frustrated, or injuried. Shoe quality can directly be related to performance and injuries....so says my podiatrist.

Don't go gentle into that good night! We can make all the excuses we want, but a month from now will you be saying "I am glad I did" or "I wish I had"? One day at a time. Build up into the program you want at a speed that you can realistically handle. Small steps. Eventually you will find your stride and you will be…

This is a great site with some very solid information and advice. I wish you the greatest success in creating the healthier you! Don't go gentle into that good night!

Even though you have been doing this for a month you need to remember that its a life style change and that change does not happen over night. Drink more water...help cleanse the blood and flush out the bad stuff. Are you weighing yours self everyday? The body can fluctuate a couple pounds every day. Try weighing yourself…

no pool, nice idea though!

TBH I'm not a tattoo fan, but it is nice. Why not do the tat in parts as you reach various goal? Do the butterflies first when you reach 185# and than do the lines at the next goal. This way the tat will represent a continual improvement rather than a singular step. Best success either way!

I would tell you to stick it out a little longer. Your feet are not used to the idea of running and it takes time to get used to it. Great that you got properly fitted for shoes, but if it doesn't feel right in a month ...go back and get re-fitted. Are you running indoors, street, track, trail? These can all make the foot…
