  • Welcome, you going to be just fine! First few days can be hard. read the posts, drink water and get moving!
  • Totally understand why you're feeling blue, but do not let the events keep you from taking care of yourself. Do not betray yourself. I find that a long walk or exercise is great for increasing my positive moods. Find people that can be supportive right now and will affirm your decisions and feelings. I also find playing…
  • I would suggest walking down hill before running. There is no secret to do it, but if your knees arent ready then you need to strengthen them first. I love to run and can complete a 10k without stopping but I still think the benefits of walking are worth an honest try! I do both....
  • Welcome aboard! I personally am just following the calorie plan and doing cardio. No reason to be scared, we have all had our own struggles. My recommendations: 1. weigh yourself once a week at the same time on the same scale, measure yourself once a month. These are just indicators and should not be the only thing you…
  • yea whats that site...I have a daughter with food allergies.
  • Well spoken! Thank you for today's motivational thought!
  • yes a mind is sexy but that's only part of the picture. If it was just about the mind, some people would never get married, let alone procreate (not going to advocate that they do) :) Without getting all emotional ...what about compassion? I person with a heart is fine but seeing it in action is a thrill!
  • sorry I was trying on a sports bra because the local women said I was shaking too much! j/k
  • your family had a stationwagon not a minivan lunch boxes were made of tin and so were the food cans
  • I weigh myself on sunday morning. THis way I am conscious Friday and Sat night that I have a weigh in and don't go nuts eating out or socializing. Also I feel that if the scale doesn't work in my favor, I can use Sunday as the time to recommit myself before work. Same time same way same scale....so far so good!
  • what a great idea!!!! Congrats on your success!
  • you need to get on board with a nutritionist and a therapist. Mr. ED is not a thing to be played with
  • 2 eggs with a slice of american and salsa on top....yummyy!!
  • That is outstanding! I can't wait to be able to say that. It's definitely a goal worthy of recognition!!!
  • It happens to us all. Why not take a long walk? It might not close the plan gap but its a positive reaction and its better than sitting there feeling down! Good Luck!
  • A properly fitted shoe is worth the prevention of injury. Go cheap on shoes and it may cost you later. If you figure you are using them 3-6 days a week, then spending $125 is easy to justify. Go to a true runners store and be fitted. Do you have high arches, flat feet, instep runner, etc Happy Running!
  • Amen! After the second, I decided it was time to change for good!
  • Here is a thought for you...soda drinkers are more prone to get kidney stones. After your first male birth you will quit drinking soda!
  • I have a biggest loser scale for get the maker. Bought it a Target. It works as it should. Think it cost $20.

  • Definitely not a great month indeed, but life does have a way of altering OUR plans. The best we can do is recognize the changes and adapt Change what you can, accept what you can not change. Sounds like you got a good handle on things! My condolences for your loss. It is never easy. Remember you are trying to make…
  • socialization can be done with neighbors, friends, family and other dogs. THe more exposure the better. dog parks are a mixed bag...great fun but it can also teach bad habits and the possibility of diseases...no thanks. I have a neighbor with a equal size dog. we have let them run around together. At first they had a few…
  • Welcome aboard! Lets start the process with the idea that the past is over and today is a new beginning. Drink water, follow your plan, take a walk, go for a run, get moving. Don't skip any meals. When you feel like a craving is going to take over, drink a full glass of water. When the day is over...it is over, let it go.…
  • The scars of battle are the medals without equal. The lessons and stories they tell are worth letting the world know. There is no shame in service! I salute you! USA 87-95 11B5P
  • I also prefer to run but for those times when the weather or time doesnt allow...the crosstraining that the elliptical provides is worth it. I found that to get a quality elliptical was about $500, getting a quality treadmill about $900.
  • Why a treadmill? Have you looked into ellipticals. They can be better exercise and cheaper.
  • I love to run, but the summer heat has driven me indoors. Getting ready for a 10k in Sept and a 12 mile in Nov. drink water, and more water and more water
  • buy a new scale, place it in the same location on the floor every time you use it, make sure it is zeroed out before getting on and lastly......try weighing in once a week
  • I too have noticed the unhealthy mentality of weight loss on the forum. Having a personal connection with mr. ED, It does seem like the drive to lose is overriding the common sense of slow and steady. Sadly, I think many don't see that, and feel that if they can lose it quickly it will stay off....
  • step 1 - buy a metal crate step 2 - exercise your dog step 3 - teach the dog that the crate is a safe place If you are going to get a crate get a metal one....I lasts. You have what looks like a collie or sheltie mix...very high energy. Try walking a few miles with it, play ball for an hour, find a neighbor with a dog it…
