  • I love BCAAs. I used to get the goofy kind you drink with the very macho sounding names, but now I just get gel-caps. They"re much easier to deal with . I've no idea if coffee is "good" for you, but I like to workout in a fasted state and it helps give me a kick in the *kitten*. Its also a tasty appetite suppressant.
  • I agree with everyone who suggested eating clean and black coffee. This won't help you lose fat, but occasionally, when I know I'm going to get get a little ouchy after a lifting day (or new routine/activity), I pop a couple of BCAA supplements pre and/or post workout. This makes getting out of bed the next day (and…
  • A month-ish ago I eliminated wheat and other grains from my diet. I'm not missing the grains, tbh; after a headache the first week from the carb flu, things were fine. I never noticed it before, but not eating grains (or perhaps my lower carb consumption) had really levelled out my hunger. I used to get the stupids if I…
  • I loved the first class I tried, so I bought a punch card and am going again today and tomorrow. I'm pleasantly sore, (hello abs!) not completely wrecked like after a session at the gym with a trainer. Do you think light running (2-3/wk @2-3 miles at a time) will hinder the toning/lengthening that the barre class is…
  • Lately I've been rocking bulletproof coffee, keeps me going till lunchtime. In the past I've done hardboiled eggs, leftovers from the night previous. Occasionally a protein shake, but I up the fat with a couple tsp of coconut oil or MCT oil (this is generally when I miss my alarm and need to be out the foor in 5 min).
  • I weigh and record daily at the same time. I am a science nerd, so data is good. Its interesting to see the patterns. I realize that water and TOM can make a difference, so I don't sweat it too much if its up for a few days and one of the criteria are hit (TOM or maybe too much salt). Measurements get recorded every couple…
  • I feel happier, or at least on a more even keel. Also celebrating a bit of a fwoosh because the scale was down 3 lbs this morning after not budging for a week.
  • Anyonghasaeo! I just joined this group. Have been logging for almost a month now. I live in Seattle and often walk/run/play around Greenlake. Summers I camp and hike the Olympic Penninsula and North Cascades. Winters find me at Baker/Crystal/Stevens.
