I eat within reason...normally. I drink every weekend, and won't change that. I will however, change what I drink. I lean towards vodka and soda with a lime, or a Captain and diet instead of a margarita or wine. As far as food goes, I'm the same way: I wake up later, so I typically skip a meal. I don't make up for it with…

I ran, but it all depends on your fitness level! That's the nice thing about this workout, you can vary the speed depending your comfort.
-
This website is full of support and ideas - you can do it! You've made the right choice starting here :)

That's my problem; I KNOW I can run faster, but I get bored. I'd rather be playing with the incline or speed or some type of variation to keep myself interested. It makes the time go by faster, versus just running a straight run. Glad you gave it a try!

Absolutely! That's what's great about this workout is that you can definitely tailor it to your fitness level. You could walk this workout instead of run, or you could decrease the resistance (or increase)! I just loved it. And hated it at the same time of course! :)

Sounds awesome! I was running between 7-6.7 for speed (running about 8:45-9:10 pace) so it was a killer!
-
PS: The machine said I burned 425 calories in a half an hour :glasses:

Just stick with it - and don't lie to yourself! You may shock yourself the first couple of weeks with calories, I know I did. Once you get in the routine you'll be able to keep it up. Good luck!

Same here. It's probably because what was previously a normal package size has decreased because of the recession (so only a small change in calories) - I work in packaging so I know this first-hand!

THANK YOU EVERYONE! This is really where I need to turn for encouragement, because you all know what others are going through. My first pound was an accomplishment, and every pound after that is its own victory. Thank you everyone :glasses:

Good for you. That's an amazing theory to live behind. Kudos to you!
-
HA! Love it.

Good question...YES! Obviously not daily, but I saw a picture of myself during Christmas and I could totally tell in my face. It made me really happy! And I can tell with my clothes too :) THANK YOU!

Okay you must have been reading my mind! I am a runner and when I first started MFP, I just ran more...I know better, I'm just nervous to try something new and fail. I recently started lifting, and bought Zumba for Wii! Thanks for the suggestions!

Mine is public, but I have yet to receive any type of criticism for it. When I look at other public food diaries I don't look to scrutinize but to get ideas for meals/snacks/etc. Entering incorrect data or "faking it" only hurts yourself in the long run, because you'll forget that you lied and wonder why you aren't…

You looked beautiful at that shoot! Another 15 might be too much...but just stay healthy! My problem is not getting obsessed, but tracking calories helps, because it actually helps me to eat more if I need it. In the past, dieting = anorexia for me. Now I'm a lot better. Well let's see. At my lowest (in adult life) in…

I'm biased because I know you ;) But I personally think that 110 is too light for your frame. You do have a small frame, I agree, but I think that 115-120 is perfect. Listen to the advice you're getting though; it's how your clothes feel, not what the scale says. For example...my goal was 140 (to lose 10 pounds). I've lost…

I have had PF for years now...unfortunately it's not something that goes away, it lingers. The best advice I was given: 1 - Go to an actual running store and get your stride/step/balance reviewed. They can analyze the way you run and provide the best shoe to wear. This helped me a lot. 2 - BEFORE you step out of bed, roll…

Definitely a scarf - easy to remove if you get really warm! I used to do this when I was in college. Unfortunately for me (not sure if you're the same), if I run inside, I'm plagued by just as much coughing because of the dry, stale air. So if I run outside, it's frigid cold air - if I run inside, it's stagnant, dry air.

Those are some amazing stats! Keep up the amazing work (but don't forget to spoil yourself a little during the holidays). You progress looks awesome!

Well said! Dieting cannot overtake your life - you have to celebrate every now and then! :)
-
Wow that is quite the workout! Is it weird seeing yourself workout though?
-
LOL! Thank you!!

You definitely do look amazing, and of course, LOVE the shoes!!

You could be gaining muscle! When you first start working out you can gain muscle quickly, but see no change in your weight. It's hard, because you WANT to see that scale change. How about tracking your body fat percentage? That is more important than weight anyways! Losing weight is a tough battle, but make sure you…

That sounds fun! Maybe I will try something like that tonight. My gym gets packed so it's hard to get off the bike and go back and have it be empty! But no one works out on Fridays but us crazies :) Thanks for the suggestion!

Krista your before and after pictures are amazing! Way to go! That is so motivating!!

I haven't yet. I work part-time at a gym so I enjoy the free membership but the age-range is...slightly higher than my own (okay, twice my age). I'm hesitant to join a class with such a different fitness level than my own!

I get bored easily, because I'm used to running outdoors. One stationary bike workout that I do that keeps me enthused is: 5 minutes warm-up 20 minutes of one minute very intense, one minute recovery 5 minutes cool-down It's only 30 minutes and it burns a lot of calories. I'm trying to find other good workouts online but…

That is the best attitude to have (getting in the swing of things first). I started out slow...if you don't you'll overwhelm yourself! Logging food is the first good step and yes even on weekends. I've only been on here for four weeks, and yeah, my calorie intake increases on the weekend but now that I see how many…
