AMAZING Treadmill Workout!
I’m an outdoor runner – but when ice plasters the pavement, I move indoors. I alternate between the indoor track and the treadmill, but I had never utilized the “incline” feature before. Yesterday I tried a workout I found on Running Times and it is FAR too amazing not to pass along! It can be found here:…

Self's HIIT Drop 10 Workout
Hi all! I just did a quick search and didn't see anything too recent on this - has anyone just started Self Magazine's Drop 10 HIIT? I LOVE it and would love to have support of anyone else in a similar program :)

I'm not a nurse but...
I'm not a nurse, but I'm also not Sedentary! I work an office job where I walk several fights of stairs daily, and do as much walking as possible. Also: I work 3-6 hours a week at a part-time job where I'm on my feet the entire time walking around and helping customers. What do I do? Do I label myself as "Sedentary", and…

Salad buffet at the office cafeteria?
I struggled at even naming this topic, but my general question is: what is everyone's opinion on salad buffets? We have a cafeteria at my new place of employment. I've never ordered a hot lunch, and instead go straight to the salad buffet. I typically build a salad of romaine, spinach, veggies, and light or fat free…

Best Wii Exercise Games?
My mom is an exercise enthusiast as well, and loves her Wii Fit. I’d like to get her another Wii game for Christmas that is also fitness-related. Does anyone have suggestions for other Wii exercise games? I only know of Wii Fit Plus and Zumba. Thanks!!

Bad weekend=light Monday?
I've had a few bad weekends in a row...and when I get to Monday, I can barely eat my calories WITHOUT the additional exercise calories I earn. Should I be making an effort to still eat up these calories? Or is a light day justifiable considering the bad weekend junk?

30-mile Bike Ride for Diabetes!
Hi All :glasses: I'm "racing" a 30-mile bike ride for the American Diabetes Association and I have two goals: 1. Figure out how to ride a bike again (would help wouldn't it?!) - I'm a runner not a biker. 2. Raise $500! I don't know a lot of you, but I would appreciate any support you could lend out. Even if you could…

Recipe suggestion please!!
I have a coworker at my office (married, in his 50’s) who is going to have knee replacement surgery. Since he’s going to be out for 8-10 weeks, a few people in the office were going to make him some dishes to bring home, so he or his wife didn’t have to worry about cooking (at least at the very beginning!). Last time an…

Back pain while walking?
Does anyone else have this problem? …does anyone have any solution? I’m a runner and never have problem while running (or doing any other type of fitness regime!). But when I walk for more than 15 minutes or so at a brisk pace, my lower-mid back BURNS. Before you jump ahead of me, keep in mind I have tried holding my arms…

Chicago Marathon: Who is Running?!
I ran the marathon for the first year in 2007 - you know, the year where someone passed away because of the heat (RIP) and they cancelled the race half-way through? That one. I swore I'd never run it again! 2009 rolled around and I found myself entered again. Two years later and I'm at that point again...curious if I could…

Enchiladas Under 500Cal!
I found a recipe on KraftFoods.com (my favorite site!) for this recipe. After completely altering it like I always do, it's down to 415 calories a serving - room for half a cup of Mexican rice too! :glasses: (Kind of) Kraft Foods - Chicken & Sour Cream Enchiladas Ingredients: 1 Cup Fat Free Sour Cream 1 ½ Cups 2% Milk…

...Thanks for the compliment?
Last night I went to dinner with my best friend. Here's a conversation we had when we first sat down (keep in mind I haven't seen her in about a month). Her: "Congratulations on your weight loss - I saw you lost like 9 pounds!" Me: "Thanks! Can you tell?" Her: "Well, no." I was a little taken aback. That's not a good thing…

What's your favorite stationary bike workout?
I'm a naturally born, and raised runner, but post-college, I'm not trying to get into other methods of cardio. I get bored easily, because I'm used to running outdoors. One stationary bike workout that I do that keeps me enthused is: 5 minutes warm-up 20 minutes of one minute very intense, one minute recovery 5 minutes…

New in Aurora/Naperville!
Hi Everyone! I joined MFP about two weeks ago and have been religiously using it since. I love it! It's taking some getting used to...sometimes it's hard to read what we really do eat. I gained the "Freshman 15"...but it wasn't until AFTER college. I was a competitive runner during college, so I actually lost weight every…

5-Day Cleanse?
I've been reading about cleanses for years - you typically have to spend money to receive some type of drink mix. Does anyone know of any homemade cleanse drinks or have any suggestions on a homemade cleanse? Three or five day, or whatever you know! I don't want to starve myself...but I think a cleanse every once in a…
