  • Wow this group is growing fast, lots of new faces. Larro - thanks for the tip on clicking on the star, I was getting fed up of searching for the thread.
  • If you have flown any great distance, I would wait at least 3-4 days before weighing in as I always bloat and gain a couple of pounds or so which is normally gone within a week, this will also help your body recover from any excess salt. Whatever, you will not have put on anything that you can't lose again....
  • Wow guys... away for a month and everything has changed!! Trip to the UK, for 4 days then having friends stay with us for a week, and school holiday meant no real time for any exercise apart from walking, but didn't put on any weight back o, so that is a good thing. Now back at work, and back on the programme, got 3 weeks…
  • Google the German cyclist "Quadzilla" :noway:
  • +1 for the Physio, try to find a muscula-skeletal specialist. My wife had a long term back injury and always been told to isolate her back and tighten her core. Went to our new physio and he totally changed her way of thinking on her back, got her to relax, and a new course of exercise and it has given her a new lease of…
  • Roll over to the new thread... One week to go in this trip, then a 4 day break in the UK to see my family before back home to Perth... 29 hours flying for a 4 days visiting the family for the first time in 2 years...
  • Check out the Aussie Aussie Aussie group!
  • I'm pretty much the same size as you, 6' 1" presently at 101kg (222lbs 15st 12lbs) and I would like to get down to 85 kg ~13st. Will be interesting to see what I am like at that weight as I don't ever remember being there. Also want rid of the pot on the front, and the moobs and back fat.....so cardio and bodyweight…
  • I eat back a percentage of exercise cals, but consider the Fitbit calories as a safety buffer to take into account any error I have in my logging of the food I eat, as I have to make some rough approximations as I eat a lot of cafeteria food on the camp where I work.
  • Also try Fitstar, available on IOS, not sure if it is available on Android. Has a number of different routines, some are free some are paid.
  • Hi Kool Kids... Back again in the desert, temperature has dropped down to a slightly more pleasant 105 deg F from the 110 - 115 degrees it was last month! Not had quite such a good month weight wise... a bit of a lack of motivation to get out there and get after it in my month off at home - too many treats and not enough…
  • Bump to the new thread.... Still logging... up to 196 days now, this trip at work has been quite difficult, have not managed to get up to my 10000 steps very often as with the temperature not dropping below 92 deg, even at night, and day temperature of 115 deg, it tends to stop me walking to far before I scurry back to my…
  • When I checked with the Garmin site for my Edge 800 it said that only the Vivifit will sync initially with full compatibility coming later in the year. So I would add your cycling.
  • I've got a Flex, but if I was buying now I would go for the Garmin Vivofit as it is also a HRM.
  • Me too.. its a great work out... now the jump rope is up to 2 minutes it's getting hard!!
  • 43 deg C here today.... that's almost 110 for those on Imperial units... a bit too warm for doing much walking outside this afternoon...but been following my plan, doing some good Bodyweight workouts, and cardio while away, so hopefully I'll have some good results when I get home on Wednesday... We've got a long weekend…
  • Just completed my 11th. Just need to say that it is too easy then it quickly gets harder. Was doing it everyday but I was getting pain in my shins from the running in place and skipping, so now back to alternating with biking.
  • And now a third... Have completed 4 sessions now including the trial, it certainly gets a sweat up in a short space of time.
  • Well been back at work for 10 days and haven't reported in to the cool kids yet!. Still heading downhill with my weight.. hit a few bumps with a particularly boozy night before I came away, but at least being here at work gets me off the booze for a month. Normally I try to limit it to a glass of wine with dinner, but a…
  • Look at the Garmin Vivofit, it is also a HRM as well as a fitness tracker. It doesn't sync with MFP yet, but its only a matter of time as it hasn't been on the market long. I have a Flex and like the motivational stimulus it gives to get off my butt and walk around.

  • awesome job, will bump for more great answers.
  • To get down to, and maintain a healthy bodyweight that will hopefully help me live a few more years. To raise my overall level of fitness. And to look good in a wetsuit so that I can learn to ride a wave before I end my 50th year......
  • I'm 6' 1" peaked at 118 kg (260 lbs) got down to 97 kg (212lbs) in 2012, slowly let my weight creep back up to a maximum of 112kg (246 lbs) in December 2013. Back on the wagon again and using MFP to make a lifestyle change and learn a degree of portion control. Would like to get to 85 kg (187 lbs) a weight I don't think…
  • Alf - Work 29 rotation with a day travelling each way...26 days off....and the coming home and crmaping the BH style is too true.... during the GFC in 2009 I was home for 6 months and my marriage lasted another 4 months after that......realised we didn't really like each other a lot!...
  • Still not home yet.. had to work a few more days... so no weigh in until after the weekend.... Beeps - My daughter's were $6000 .. but we get $2000 back through health insurance.... still a big hole in the family budget.... Welcome to all the new cool kids....and keep on going everyone!
  • Welcome to the new 'Cool Kids' Alf - sorry about your injury .. hope you get back to business soon.. One more week for me before home and the big weigh in.. i now know that a closed fist full off almonds is exactly 25 g thanks to the scale I brought with me this trip.. been weighing food that I haven't had in the main…
  • I don't like to say it.... but the best thing you can do for your skin is stop smoking....
  • The one that looks best to me is the Garmin Vivofit, I have a Fitbit Flex which I love just for the encouragement it gives, but having a HRM built in will be great. I already have the strap from my Garmin bike GPS so that saves me having to buy another one.
  • It's almost half way through my 4 week work hitch and all my work gear is definitely roomier, which is unusual as the laundries normally manage to shrink everything! Keeping up with my logging and exercise bike sessions and slightly under my calories allowance, so allowing for the errors in my food selection from the…
