  • I love this! My weakness has always been candy corn. The sad thing is that I am usually the one who buys it. So....I'm in. I am not buying candy corn this year. And I won't sneak my kids' candy either. In fact, this year I think I am going to make the kids go through their candy and have them pick out only their favorites…
  • Just one jalapeno? This sounds right up my alley. I am a huge black bean fan and love jalapenos. Tomorrow I am searching out that pita bread. Thanks for the recipe.
  • I ran about 3 to 4 miles at least four times a week and then did at least one longer run durning the week of about 5 to 8 miles depending. It helped me to stay focused by following a training plan for a halft marathon. You can fide a lot of easy to follow ones if you just Google it. I really noticed a weight loss/ looking…
  • Thanks for the info. I always burn microwave popcorn anyway so I stopped buying it years ago.
  • I like tuna so I might now be the best help...but I have sprinkled a little italian seasoning (dry salad dressing mix) on it and it gives it a great low calorie taste (5 calories). Also if you put it on a salad and add fat free cottage cheese and your choice of low cal. dressing....that's yummy too.

  • Best of luck to you. I was a Diet Cherry Pepsi addict for years. Drinking anywhere from 3 to 6 cans a day. The first 2 weeks were very difficult, but now that I drink carbonated water and flavored water, and water I actually crave that. It can be done. But like all this being healthy stuff....it's never as easy as you want…
  • When I was trying to break my before bedtime snack(s) I did something that was very successful for me. I used to chug diet cherry pepsi. Litterally until I was asleep in my bed. But it filled me up and took off the sugar cravings for the night. I called my diet cherry pepsi my "treat" . I did that for two years (too long).…
  • Very inspriational and well written. Thanks. It is great to have such helpful and motivated people on here. :flowerforyou:
  • I just have to say awesome job on the dedication to your workout/ running. How long does it take you to burn that many calories? And I eat all my calories and it's working for me. :D
  • Yes it really is annoying....the crappy weather here. Hang in there on the running. If you can find someone to run with (which is not always very easy, no matter what the weather) it makes it at least something to endure together. I've decided to just go to the gym and also hit the tanning bed. I know in the end I'll feel…
  • You aren't alone mdogg09. I'm having one of those days too. It's hard to take care of ourselves when we get pulled in so many different directions. I liked how you said you are going to eat veggies and call it a day....after my lasagna and (lots of bread) dinner that cracked me up. Good for you! Tomorrow is a new day. And…
  • Thanks. What is it with that "little pouch" anyway? LOL I'm going to try this one tonight.
  • I like Big Red gum. Cheap and keeps my mouth watering for over half an hour.
  • Way to go an committing to do a half marathon. I ran one this past May and loved it. I was able to follow a training schedule and when the excitement of the race was in the mix, I felt like I wanted to run a couple more miles at the end of it. So I highly recommend training for the best physical and mental results. (Keep…
  • Thanks!
  • Bump...for later. Thanks!
  • Ha ha. Hang in there mama! They do drive you to drink. But when the going get's tough, the tough get going. I admire all the effort you all are putting in to be healthy!
  • Run. Run. Run. Run!!! That's my advice. It's addictive and free and right out the front door. Take a break from being the care taker to mom and boyfriend. Run for you! Then enter your miles you ran on MFP and see how much you can actually eat. You won't be so rensentful for the meals they like you to cook. You can do it!
  • :flowerforyou: Bump!!
  • It's a constant battle trying to be more convincing than the media to my children. Their young (very) impressionable little brains seem to believe every word of what they see on t.v. or hear on the radio etc. It's no wonder so many kids are over weight. It's in their faces all the time. Even the concession stands at Little…
  • I wondered the same thing. I have a similiar situation to yours. I am either in a car or at my desk on a computer at work. I get so antsy....I have to work out everyday, just to stay sane. LOL I don't really "need" to lose weight. I am a healthy weight, but I too want to tone up and be more fit. This site helps so much to…
  • I am so with you on this. I love them too. And the "light" ones just aren't the same. I'm getting used to vodka soda water with a splash of cranberry juice and a lime. These are about 100 calories. :drinker:
  • Good for you! Have you signed up for any races yet? There are usually a lot to choose from in the Fall. But be careful...they are addictive too. Happy running!
  • I love your passion! Thanks! This is an amazing site. It has been very inspirational and it is because of people like you who have taken the time to cheer others on. :flowerforyou:
  • After my last baby (and 20 pounds over weight) I did not go back to drinking alcohol until I reached my goal weight, which took about 6 months. The biggest thing I can say about not drinking alcohol is that it is very empowering. I loved that I could go out with friends and family and have a great time without overeating…
  • Thanks. This actually was reassuring to read, because I do not feel that I fit the anorexia athletica criteria. I just love to exercise. It's nice to hear that there are other people out there making the effort to feel good. I don't worry that I will gain weight from taking a day off, but it is more about stress relief and…
  • Somedays you just have to shake your head in amazement at some people. My boyfriend left this morning at 6 AM to spend a week 2 hours away at Camp Ripley in MN to train for yet another type of preparation for deployment (will be his 2nd time going to Iraq). The sacrifices he makes leaving his 3 children and 3 (soon to be)…
  • I'm not a doctor...but after reading your post my first thought was; maybe you should see your Dr. It could be nothing, just a nice slow steady weight loss for someone who doesn't need to lose much, but if you haven't been in a while (like the last 2 months) maybe it's time to go get a check up. Also, keep in mind that…
  • I was really motivated after I watched the video last night, but after looking at what I ate today I really fell short on not eating man made sugars. I know he said they put it in pretzels...and after I finished my afternoon snack (of pretzels) I confirmed he was correct. :ohwell: Maybe I set myself up for failure when I…
  • I'm just gonna say; it's very hard to make it work. I too have young kids and my other half works long and crazy hours...plus he's in the National Guard and gone over nights occasionally. I struggle all the time trying to make exercise work into running a house, raising kids and working full time. I don't have any great…
