My wife and I run the same program. We had to switch the lower and upper days. One of us would be hogging the only squat rack in the gym we like going to near the house. for most, eating low card is going to put them in a caloric deficit which caused the weight loss. They didn't replace the calories from the carbs with anything else. So it's still all about the deficit.

This is awesome. Keep at it. At times the weight will not go up. Keep at it and progress slowly. When it's time to increase the weight, do it in the smallest amount possible. Get some 2.5 pound plates to add to the bar. You will only need two so you go up in five pound increments. I'm glad to hear you are enjoying it.
