• Middle of nowhere, QLD. My son has been talked into buying me something nice when I hit the 20 kilo mark ;)
• 'be there soon'
• *liked* :)
• No comparison. I use Facebook for personal reasons. I only have REAL friends on there, and they are a part of my real life. MFP is a bunch of wonderful, sometimes faceless, sometimes nameless, supportive people for my purpose of getting fit and losing weight.
• OMG you are so right...I've just tried it all again, and even though I was searching for 'raw', the data that came up is definitely cooked! Who weighs cooked rice? I weigh everything raw, and then log everything I do to it. For example if I'm having roast veges like last night, nothing on my diary would suggest that, you'd…
• So are you saying that the 1 cup on the database here is cooked weight, not raw weight?
• Oh, and just for the record, the packet of WHITE long grain rice I have sitting here in front of me says 1 cup has 151 calories in it. No wonder some of us don't lose weight on certain days. We are probably consuming a LOT more calories in that day than we think, based on trusting the system/database here.
• While we are on the subject of rice....this has been bothering me for a couple of weeks and would really love some opinions/advice? MFP logs: 1 cup of long grain white rice as 205 calories 1 cup of long grain brown rice as 216 calories 1 cup of medium grain brown rice as 218 calories. My packet of medium grain brown rice…
• I have porridge every morning. And I use the quick sachet's, but not the flavoured ones. I go for the multigrain hi-fibre. It's absolutely delicious. Makes me full for ages. I'll add a bit of protein like a boiled egg, or some leftover chicken to what my brekky is, have a cuppa, and that's me done for very little calories…
• Bwahaha!
• Ditto...
• I have no idea why this happens, but if I eat anything like KFC, or chips, or the other night I had the tiniest piece of sticky date pudding...even if I have stayed within my allotted calories for the day, I STILL put on weight the next day. I am convinced there are good calories and bad calories, even without taking into…

• You obviously have a sweet tooth  I've always loved chocolate and cakes and lollies and anything else sweet...but for some reason the only thing I crave is chips (crisps). However I have to share this...in Australia here, we get a fibre supplement called Benefibre. It's really REALLY good! I get the orange flavoured…

• The PT at my gym recommends around 100 a day, and I've seen plenty of people on here agreeing with that. Protein is really really essential. It not only builds muscle, but it also keeps you satiated longer. I've also discovered by trial and error that when I eat a big protein meal before the gym, I have a bigger and better…

• I'm no expert, but I just had a quick look. You definitely do eat a lot of sweets/chocolate/junk/bad foods lol. Whilst it's true that some people believe as long as you are in a caloric deficit you will lose weight, I read an article recently on those who DO have a deficit, thereby increasing a certain enzyme that stores…

• :drinker: Way to go young fella!!! That's a massive effort, you deserve to feel amazing!
• As for a sensible answer, I'd agree that solids are by weight, and liquids are by volume...
• Just a quick question....how can you measure out 4oz from a 2oz container? *checks her pants for smarties* mmm...smarties!
• Aussie here, but I love Canadians!!! Welcome!
• Sorry guys...I live in Australia. We basically get 'wholemeal', 'white', multigrain', or 'hi fibre white'. Oh...and turkish bread. OMG I love turkish bread!!!
• Having no thyroid, I have trouble with my body temperatures. I'm hoping by the time summer comes and I have lost a lot more weight, that I will survive this year, but you appear to be having the opposite problem? You've lost and you're feeling hotter? How long has it been happening? It could be all sorts of things causing…
• I saw a show discussing soluble and insoluble fibre recently. One thing MFP is good for is pointing out exactly where you're lacking in certain things. I'm taking a fibre supplement these days. I'm still not sure how much better the wholemeal/multigrain products are over white given the fibre count isn't that much higher.
• I've seen sandwich thins advertised here in Australia. I'll check out the calories in them, it might be ok for a treat occasionally :)
• It says 'Asia Specialities'. It's a 195g bottle and according to the destructions you use 30g of it for a meal for 2 people. You could even use it for seafood. I'm looking forward to trying it.
• If anyone finds a calorie free replacement for Smith's crinkle cut plain chippies....let me know ;) They are the one thing I crave!
• Man that sounds good. Although I have no idea what Quinoa is or what it tastes like, but have seen others from overseas on here mention it a lot. What shop did you buy it from?
•
Is Aldi like a eastern supermarket? Do they make all of their own stuff (Like they don't sell Heinz, Birds Eye etc)? I'm from Perth ^_^
Oh, I'm not sure now that you've asked. It used to be just in the big cities, but we have one here in my little town. They usually have imported or not-known brands of…
• Had never even heard of almond milk until I read it on here. I wonder if you could have it in coffee instead of regular cows milk...
• At Aldi yesterday, I bought a jar of Green Curry Paste. It's 99% fat free, and has only 10 calories per serve! Teamed up with some Light Coconut Milk at 120 calories for half the tin (assume you're cooking for two people), and your chicken and a few vege, you have a low fat, low calorie, high protein meal that tastes…
• I have tears! No idea how to save these, or add more...but THANK YOU for posting them. Made my day!
