You are replacing the fat with muscle when you exercise. So you are not going to soo as much "weight loss" as you will se the loss in Inches. MFP gives you a calorie deficit when you set up how many pounds you want to lose. Your body burns a certain ammount of calories a day just breathing. If you do not eat back any of…

You need to do this for you- not for him. I think counseling would be a huge step toward healing in your relationship. If he isn't willing to try you will have to decide... Do you want to stay married to someone that doesn't love you for the sake of your daughter even though it is only going to hurt you? Do you want to do…

I started two months after I had my youngest. I couldn't get how I was gaining weight. Week one all I did was post everything I ate. You won't believe how many calories are in some of the things we eat. Week two I picked one of my high calories I could live without. I've eventually gotten rid of the Mountain Dew most of…

definitely update the weight on your fitbit on a regular basis. You naturally burn more calories doing the same thing if you weigh more.

I don't have a Fitbit, but I've heard they are very accurate. It is supposed to adjust your calorie target if you have it synced. I would try it for a week or two to see how you feel. I would aim for 3,000 at the minimum as much as you work out.... I would also change the setting from sedentary to active if you have a very…

If you are worried about gaining the weight back, you could always store them in the garage ot attic. I've found the "Space Bags" inside plastic totes work great for keeping out mice and dust.

I didn't weigh myself for almost a month after I started. It has been about once a month or every time I outshrunk my jeans. I know it will change too much if I did it daily.

I work nights, but have 6 kids and Basketball practice/games to deal with for one of them. I do a lot of frozen meals too. My biggest problem is getting enough Vitamin A and watching the Sodium. I love the steamers. The Mac & Cheee is good, but the Broccoli, Rice and Cheese has a lot of Sodium and has 1.5 (or 2) servings…

Your diary is still closed, so I can't help with that. I got a pedometer and set a goal of 300 calories a day when I started. Unfortunately, the same # of steps only gives me 200 calories now, but that is another problem :) I have to make some changes in my "diet" now. My current schedule isn't Breastfeeding friendly, so…

OMG they are making me feel old. Remember swimming in the crick?

No, but I don"t list the 10 or 15 minutes of cleaning or walking from room to room with the baby a couple of times a day.

Breastfeeding burns 20 calories per ounce. So 25 ounces= 500 calories and 30=600. I EP (pump) so I add it as an exercise because I know how many calories I burned. I gained 70 pounds with my twins 6 years ago and never got rid of all of it. I started MFP 4 months ago after I had my youngest and just wasn't losing anything.…

MFP set it at 1200 in order for you to lose weight. I think it is rather low. I'm running between 1800 and 1900 a day but I'm breastfeeding right now. ( that puts it between 1300 and 1400 after calories burned) I would have problems trying to cut down the calories after I stop.

Hi. My name is Jennifer too. My boy is #6. I've lost 30 pounds so far here but still have another 20 to go. After working nights, I have very little time to exercise too.

thanks. sent a request.

It's hard to say without seeing your food diary. How much water are you drinking? Are you eating 5 small meals a day or 3 big? Have you talked to a nutritional specialist? They might be able to help better than I can. I know what works for me doesn't work for everyone.

Welcome to MFP! I've been at this for two months now and I love it!

Hi. I have 6 children. 13, 11, 10, 6yo twins, and a 5mo old. Welcome to the group.

First off, I'd say the scale has been off the same ammount the whole time. So since you've changed what you weigh now, I would change the starting weight. Second, you need at least 1800 calories or so a day because of the breastfeeding. A little more for the 4 miles you run each day. I agree you should stick with what you…

If you add it as an exercise, It's 20 calories an ounce. As an exercise, it adds carbs, fat,etc to your daily allowance.

After just logging what I was eating for a week, I cut out my biggest junk food item- a nasty 600 calories every day plus the fat and sugar. That and cutting out the mountain dew most of the time ended up in a quick drop. I've changed my goal from 2lb a week to 1lb a week last week because I don't want to do too much too…

Those diet pills and yo-yo diets only hurt you in the long run. You may get there faster, but you'll just gain it all back if you don't eat healthy. I've been doing this for 2 months now and have lost 21 pounds. I'm more excited about going from a size 16 to a baggy 14. another week or so and I'll be comfortable in my 12's…

Don't tell anyone, but I've found that my best fitting tops are maternity.

Take your time. Look at what is in the calories you are eating. How much fat and sugar are you getting? Remember it's quality not quantity. Also, how active are you. How much water are you drinking? Are you logging your drinks? There are a lot of calories in pop. I agree with PP's wait a few weeks. I didn't weigh myself…

100 years ago if you weren't married with kids by the time you was 12 you was considered an old maid. A lot of my classmates either married and had kids right after school or went to college. I guess it depends on where you want to go in life. You definitely should wait until after school to have children. ( preferably…

My initial goal is 1200. I make sure to eat at least 1700 calories before factoring in what I burn exercising. If I don't eat back at least half of it, I tend to have less milk the next day.
-
The idea is for people to start drinking just water as most Sodas and Flavored drinks have a lot of sugar in them. Not that I agree completely with the norm.
-
I pre-log when I pack my lunch for work so I don't forget. I can remove it when I get home if need be. The rest of the day I just go with the flow.
-
Before I started this, I was eating 400 to 500 calories over every day. Now that I'm keeping track, I'm losing the weight. Plus my friends hold me accountable for what I eat.

Twice a month.
