FRUIT IS GOOD FOR YOU But, Calories in/calories out. If you have the choice to eat something processed or fruit. Eat the fruit. But an excess of anything (calories) will hinder weight loss.

I started C25k last year and had to stop because I really injured my knees and needed PT for 8 weeks (I had ran too much too hard before finding C25k) :( I really liked it and I plan to start up again after I meet my goal weight. So far I've been losing great just by being accurate and weighing my food. C25k will give me a…

Get a food scale and weigh everything (Mine is digital and was $15 at walmart). Use this website to accurately determine calorie content: http://ndb.nal.usda.gov/ndb/foods Not everything is listed correctly in MFP. These are the things I did and I've already lost weight because I was eating more than I thought. I even had…

I've also found since I bought a food scale and really cracked down on it that I've been losing weight faster than I have set. I don't think it's necessarily a bad thing, but maybe upping your calories 100-300 would help slow it down and fill you up some more. You don't necessarily have to eat up to that all of the time,…

I'll add you! (I'm not in the UK though)

Okay, here's a suggestion. Next time you want people to only tell you what you want to hear about a weight loss product, GOOGLE IT INSTEAD. That way you'll get loads of "reviews" saying how awesome it is and be able to filter out the ones that didn't have success. Clearly this is what you want, so why are you wasting your…

I'm kind of in the same boat...I lost 10lbs a few years ago but I only weighed 148 when I started...I gained all of that back over time plus 10lbs. So now I feel like I'm doing all this work just to get back to where I originally started only to come out even and then have to continue to work to get past that to my lowest…

I was going to tabulate approximately how much time you guys that claim to not have time to make healthy meals spent replying to this thread, but it's not worth the effort. My point has been made on its own.

Are you losing on the 1200 calories? You shouldn't need to be that low unless you are trying to lose several pounds a week, and being 137lbs, you don't have a ton of weight to lose. Is it the Atkins diet telling you 1200, or MFP? Try changing it to .5lb a week and see what that gives you. Personally, I'd ditch the atkins…

I find that they taste TOO good so I avoid them. I remember as a kid when my mom used slimfast I would drink them too :# or ensure? So good haha

Oooooo, this is a good question. I can't tell you how many pregnancy tests I've taken thinking my weight gain was related to that. Turns out I was just fat :# hahaha
-
Also this! My grocery bill has markedly decreased since I stopped eating it regularly.

From advice from other posters on this site, this website is super helpful for being accurate, especially when weighing everything. http://ndb.nal.usda.gov/ndb/foods

Mine is open :) Also I limit my dairy/egg/meat intake. I'm not vegan or anything, I just feel better without the stuff and find it easier to eat in a deficit this way.
-
If your doctors are concerned and aware, why are you not seeking answers from them instead of a bunch of internet people that don't know your history? I'm not trying to be a jerk, but you are going to get a bunch of answers you aren't going to want to hear here and it will probably only stress you out more.

Hormonal birth control tends to increase your appetite. I was on the "heinous" Depo for 5 years and was able to lose weight when I was honest with myself. I have the Mirena IUD now and am losing weight on that as well. Weigh everything you eat and see if you start to notice a difference.
-
Weigh your food :) If you haven't already been doing this, it should help.
-
I was on depo for 5 years and now I'm on my 5th month with Mirena. No periods for me in that entire time B)

Seriously??? How old are you? Obviously not emotionally old enough to be on this site.

I would suggest finding an amount you feel almost comfortable eating (at a deficit), weigh yourself after a week, maybe even two weeks and then divide that loss by how many pounds you want to lose to give you an estimate of how many weeks it "should" take. I would tack a few weeks onto that since weight loss is not linear…

I've actually found using the food scale to be fun! I'm a very analytical person so measuring out things and doing calculations doesn't seem like work to me :)
-
next time weigh it, then log it

You guys are seriously HOT! Congrats!!

@sodakat is there a similar function on the myfitnesspal phone app? I've seen mention of asterisk/non-asterisked foods several times here and I do all my logging with my phone. I've not seen something of the same function for the phone app. It would make my life easier to know though! I just bought a food scale and am…

This!! Sorry you are correct in saying maintenance. I have incorrectly used BMR for describing this equation.
-
Thank you for telling me what myfitnesspal uses. I was unaware and should have looked into that before posting this :P. Is there a reason that my numbers using the two different equations were so similar and yet other's are very different? I'm using 147lbs (66.8kg) as my weight.
-
Maybe I am confusing BMR with something else...

@squirrit that number was one our prof told us, I recall him saying where it was from but I'm still working on figuring that out. We don't have a textbook and we don't have exams for that 1hr honors credit so I don't take many notes. I will find out though!
