Losing weight too fast?

Hi folks!

I'm 34 and currently weigh 185 lbs. for the past 5 or so weeks I've been religiously tracking my calories and have lost 10 lbs. however I've been on the 1 lb a week setting. I went to 1.5 last week and lost 3 lbs... I'm wondering if this is safe? I feel fine and yeah maybe a little hungry from time to time, but I'm loving the progress! Has anyone had a similar experience? Why am I losing so much faster than the plan?

I've also found since I bought a food scale and really cracked down on it that I've been losing weight faster than I have set. I don't think it's necessarily a bad thing, but maybe upping your calories 100-300 would help slow it down and fill you up some more. You don't necessarily have to eat up to that all of the time, but it will give you some buffer room for some extra snacks.

Yes, that's the same for me. I got a food scale and am really anal about being sure to put in everything I eat. I was experiencing some anxiety, but I started eating a bigger breakfast and that's just disappeared.

I increased my calorie intake (by eating more of my exercise calories) after a couple of weeks of losing faster than expected. I choose to do it because my workouts were suffering, I just didn't have the ability to maintain the same intensity.

You may be more active than you are giving yourself credit for. Maybe when you estimate calories you are a rare breed that over estimates. Regardless if you are concerned up you calorie intake by 500 calories and re-evaluate after a period of time.

That being said, don't ask random internet strangers a medical question. Consult your doctor or dietician.
