I agree you might not be eating enough. When I started, I was eating very little, and I lost some, but any time I ate a normal calorie intake (2000 calories or around there) I would gain so much back. It's better to have a small deficit, like 250-500 calories, from what your normal intake would be—called your Total Daily…

I like to put frozen fruit in my water :) Strawberries work well! Lemon and cucumber is good too.

This is a great article about taking everything you read with a grain of salt: http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/news/fullstory_131983.html Basically, researchers created a list of 50 random food items, and then looked at how many studies from the past 35 years that tout benefits or risks of consuming said items. They…

I can relate; I have a friend who is very thin and eats very little, but she LOVES to talk about eating sweets and often wants to hang out and eat desserts or order cake if we go out to eat—and pressures me to do the same, even though she knows what my goals are. She gives me a very, very hard time about saying no or…

^ This. If you think that might be it, see your doctor and get tested. Besides just medication, it also means you have to get blood tests and checkups on a regular basis for the rest of your life. Cha-ching.

Oh, my husband is very much the more intelligent one. Haha. He would deny it, but it's pretty much true. He's super great for having thoughtful conversations with, and has often helped me with tough decisions or learning how to do something, or just figuring out the best way to approach a problem. I've learned a lot from…

I think it's totally fine to have a snack before bed. Why not? I try to pay attention to the times I get hungry, and then tailor my plan to that. I make sure to have snacks for when I'm hungry, and save a little bit for after dinner/before bed because I usually want something then. :)

LOL But really. You do have to get over it. Maybe just toss the scale? Don't even weigh yourself. Go by your clothes and how you feel/look. Who cares about the number? I know how you feel—my DH weighs exactly the same as I do, and he's 6' tall, and I have 25% BF. However, I HAD to get over it and recognize that…

I really wish I had started lifting when I weighed more. I waited until now, and I feel like jellyfish-arms.

I try to focus on short-term goals in the meantime... like sleeping better, having more energy, eating good food, getting stronger, having more endurance. That helps me a lot!

My question as well?

:) Nice to *meet* you!

I have really large calves, too—but most of it is genetics. My dad cycles 150 miles a week, and his calves are still huge. My mom and my sister love to run, and so are theirs. I'm sure you're not doing anything wrong... in fact, you should be proud of it :) Better than chicken legs!!! If you lose some body fat % that might…

Take someone with you?

Agreed.... life is too short to eat stuff you don't like.

You're not a wuss. That's a perfectly good place to start. Push yourself, you might be surprised how much more you could do.

Aha. I think we found the problem....

Add flowers and chocolate for a triple whammy.

^ Agree with this 100%

^ This. My husband is one of those people, and I remember thinking when we were dating that, wow, he can eat whatever he wants and never gain weight! Now that we're married I see he actually eats much less than he should be eating.

I'll weigh in with a serious comment, too... I became a vegetarian a year ago, to try to lose weight. It doesn't help, FYI, so I'll save you the trouble there. But what it did do was spur me to learn more about nutrition and macros, and to get creative with my meals by focusing on veggies. Now I'm no longer a vegetarian,…
