You are right keto is not for everyone, and also 2 weeks it too short for anything you wanna change in life. It was hard the first 2-4 weeks, but then once I was keto-adapted I felt awesome. I cannot see myself changing from this WOE.

I lose more weight on Keto when I don't exercise. I say...stop working out....and focus on eating!!! I went three weeks with weight gain or no loss, then I started losing again. I try not to focus on the scale. Try to go a whole month without even looking at the scale. For me Keto is not a diet, but a way of life. So, no…

Absolutely amazing!!! What an inspiration!!! Thanks for sharing.

You can have granite sealed to prevent staining. We just got new granite in on our bathroom sinks. I know both Home Depot and Lowe's sells kit to seal granite. I will be doing this in the next week or so.

I think for the most part that people in this group have the goal of nutritional ketosis and keto-adaptation.
-
Lifestyle...definitely. It feels way too good not to keep doing this for long term.

I agree with comments above to lower your protein and increase fat. I also agree you need to stick to your macros and not keep making changes, you body needs time to adapt. While I played around with my macros for the first few weeks, they have been consistent for last 3 months. I would also try not to focus on scale as it…

I have three kids and they do not follow low carb lifestyle. However, we do try to limit the amount of sugar in their diet. We try to keep a good balance. My kids love vegetables, so they eat plenty of them with every meal.

We I started low carb / keto lifestyle, I eased in and was eating between 50-60 grams of carbs per day. Once I was comfortable, I stated to reduce my carbs down. Today, I tend to eat less than 25 grams per day. Just find what level works for you and your weight loss and stick to it.

I agree that test strip are not very accurate. I also agree that you have been losing weight, therefore you must be in ketosis.

I track and manage everything I eat also. My biggest focus is keep carbs as low as possible. Then I make sure I meet my protein goal and meet or exceed my fat goal. My daily calorie goal is 1900, but I allow myself to go over up to 2400 if I am hungry. Also, if I work out, I often eat back my calories burned, if I am…

I would recommend you eat your exercise calories. The best thing about my lifestyle change to Keto is to avoid being hungry. If I am hungry it is because I have not eaten enough fat and/or calories. On keto, I am rarely hungry, but when I am I know that its time to eat more. I've also noticed that my calorie deficit for…

I don't count "net carbs". My carb goals are based on total carbs.

When you are hungry, eat. If you are not hungry, don't eat. I try to listen to my body, and not worry too much about calories. There are days I am well below my calorie goal, and days I am way above. I do however try to keep my carbs as low as possible, so if I am hungry I will eat food that is high in fat and some…

You weight loss on scale will stall or even increase once in a while. Don't worry about the daily or weekly fluctuations, focus on the long term.

Absolutely amazing!!!

You are half way there already....just jump in all the way....you will love it.

I would focus on carbs at first and not be too worried about total calories. I have found that calories in calories out does not necessarily hold true all the time. Lately, I have been increasing my calories while not doing any exercise and I am losing more weight, than when I was exercising and maintaining a calorie…

That's sound awesome!!! Thanks!

You came to the right place! This is a great group. I started keto lifestyle about two month ago, and I have never felt better. I can't believe that I did not discover this before. It has changed my life, and it will change yours. It will be hard at first, but once you get it, you will be feeling great. I will send FR to…

Thank you all for your recipes. I wonder how it would taste using espresso. I drink espresso every day. Maybe, I can make bulletproof espresso!

Thanks for the advice. I have been doing some crossfit workouts and tabata workouts, 2-3 times per week. My initial thought was to get closer to my goal then start hitting the gym hard.

I am going to go out and get some Italian Mortadella.....have any of you ever had it? It is awesome.
-
Thank you. I love it.
-
Yeah, but I would rather have some Grey Goose with the seltzer and slice of lemon/lime. :) Especially since, I don't have to pay for my drinks.

In the past I tried to explain to friends and family what a ketogenic diet is, most people don't understand. They just jump to conclusions and end up telling me how unhealthy it is and how my cholesterol will go thru the roof. Most people are ignorant and will not take time to research things, they will just blurt out…

I say "if you like them, then eat them", who care what any Doctor says. I love olives. I eat Kalamata olives all the time, and usually have them with some feta cheese in a traditional Greek salad. I also love large green Spanish olives. I'll tell you that I usually cannot stop at 6 olives. I will eat as many as I like. I…

I will be traveling to 5-day long conferences in October and November, so I will have to prepare myself. By biggest concern is alcohol, typically conferences involve hanging out at bar at night drinking. I will probably go out to store and buy some low carb snacks to eat during the day. I figure pork rinds, cheese sticks,…
