Welcome! I've been on Keto/LCHF for about two months and I have never felt better. One of the greatest benefits for me has been the reduced hunger between meals. When I was eating carbs, I was perpetually hungry and constantly eating.

Ok, so I just ate a whole bag of pork skins (Baken-ets Hot'n'Spicy Chicharones)....490 Calories, 32g Fat, 49g Protein....but best of all....0 Carbs.
-
By the way, after reading all your posts, I just had to run out to the store to pick up some pork rinds (never knew they had ZERO carbs). OMG, they were awesome!!
-
I love Joseph's Pita bread. I always have it in my fridge/freezer for when I need to have low carb bread. They are awesome!

Congrats on your success!!! I can identify with you. I have cut all sugars and simple carbs out of my diet and I have never felt better. I am in total control of my eating now. I never feel hungry like I used to, and I have tons of energy. It hard to believe that I have more energy from not eating carbs, totally the…

I agree. Don't focus on limiting calories, just focus on keeping carbs low and getting enough fat and protein into your daily diet. I usually have almonds or all natural peanut butter as a treat, or coffee with heavy cream or sugar free flavored creamer. Make sure peanut butter does not have any added sugar in it. I look…

Not true at all. Sugar and simple carbs (bad carbs) vs complex carbs (good carbs). I avoid all carbs, unless they are from veggies.

Eggs are the perfect food, cause you can eat them in so many different ways and anytime of the day!

You don't have to count calories, but you have to figure out what works for you. Our bodies are much more complex than most people think, so calories in and calories out doesn't work for everyone. Last summer, I spent a whole summer working out 5 days a week, and maintaining a calorie deficit of between 500-1000 calories…

IT'S NOT A SIMPLE AS CALORIES IN AND CALORIES OUT....I REPEAT "IT'S NOT AS SIMPLE AS CALORIE IN AND CALORIES OUT". Our bodies are much more complex: (From Dr. Peter Attia, The Eating Academy) Obesity is a growth disorder just like any other growth disorder. Specifically, obesity is a disorder of excess fat accumulation.…

I definitely agree that you need to have blood work done. Do some reading on metabolic syndrome. I've had hard time losing weight as I got older, and recently discovered that I have metabolic syndrome. I've switched to a low carb lifestyle and I am finally feeling so much better, and losing weight.

I just looked at your diary. You could easy remove 10-13 grams of carbs, by not eating tomatoes, switching to blue cheese dressing, and eating eggs for breakfast instead of the Low Carb Breakfast Bake.
-
It was hard for me at first to stay under 25 grams of carbs. I started to incorporate more fat and a little more protein into my diet. I have eggs, cheese, salami, pepperoni, mayo, blue cheese dressing. After a few weeks, I got into the swing of it and most days my carbs are well below even 20 grams.

Over the weekend I had a few drinks, a few Michelob Ultras and some vodka with diet soda. I still managed to keep my carbs under 25 gram. I noticed on Monday that it did not kick me out of ketosis. I still try to keep my alcohol consumption to a minimum, and only on weekends.

Ever since I have had PF, I can no longer walk barefoot or in really flat flip flop, my feet will hurt really bad.

Thanks you all for sharing.

This happened to me also. It's just water weight. When I stated exercising I gained, then lost the next week. Last week, I started boot camp and I gained almost a pound. I bet this week I will be back down. I weigh myself weekly, but I am trying to focus on my month to month changes in weight and measurements. The weekly…

I don't believe that you need to exercise to lose weight. I began to exercise because I want to be in good cardiovascular health, so that I can pay soccer and run road races. I do notice slow down or increase in weight when I change my exercise routine. This is cause by inflammation in the body from the stress caused by…

Like I said, you have to do what works for you. Avoiding potatoes works for me, eating a rib eye steak with side of kale sauteed in olive oil, satisfies me.

My whole life I believed that all calories are created equal and in the CICO equation. But, I've learned that the body is more complicated than that. And all calories are not the same!
-
At least for me, good calories equals me not being hungry and being able to lose weight without me even noticing. And bad calories equal me being hungry and not satisfied and likely to not keep up with my diet. Below is what good and bad calories are for me. Everyone is different and you have to do what works for you. Good…

Congrats on the great loss. I have not looked at the forecast. I have my own weight loss goals that I set for myself, but I try to be flexible else I will be disappointed if I miss a goal. 12 lbs is one month is great. My goal is to lose 8-10 lbs in a month.

I've had flair up of plantar faciitis in the past due to lack of good arch support and running. Ever since I added arch support to my shoes and sneakers, I have never had it again. I am not sure if Keto is causing it for you. I have had leg cramping due to keto and lack of magnesium and potassium in my diet, but it has not…

Awesome transformation! I am where you were 1 year ago, and my goal is to get to 180. You gave me the inspiration that with time and discipline I will get there also. Thank you!!!!
-
Thank you. This is great info. I have not had any leg cramps in a few days, since I started taking GNC Extra Mega Green Men's Sport Multivitamins. Today I will get some Slo-Mag to also supplement my multivitamins.

I was always hungry when I was on diets like Weight Watchers because I still ate too many carbs and not enough protein. I cut my carbs and increase protein and fat that I eat, now I am rarely hungry. I am not saying you have to do low carb, but if you increase your protein and healthy fats you will decrease your hunger…

Thank you all for the suggestions. I really appreciate it.

I have been on keto for 6 weeks and I had a weight gain in week 5. I freak out a little, but then decided not let it phase me and just keep doing what I was doing. It worked out and I lost 2 pounds in week 6. Anything can affect you weight for 1-3 weeks, the key is not to focus on the scale and focus on how you are…

I'm 44 y/o and started at 247. My current weight after 6 weeks is 233, so I am down 14 lbs. My goal is to be at 200 by end of year, and ultimate goal is to be 180. It have tried many different ways to lose weight. I did lots of research to try to find what is best for me. I decided to change my lifestyle to eating low…
