I LOVE PB2! And the reason why I don't have REAL PB in my house is because I cannot eat just one serving. Seriously, I have absolutely zero willpower around real peanut butter and at 200 calories/serving, it's a no can do for me. PB2 is a good trade-off for me. I like it in shakes, smeared on a rice cake, topped on celery,…

I've actually gotten smaller by lifting weights, and I lift quite heavy (I use 15-30 pound dumbbells). And tis true...muscle burns fat, boosts your metabolism, and makes you a calorie burning machine!!

Rest day means you rest. You'll WANT that rest day after 6 days of Insanity workouts. There's been a lot of talk regarding Insanity now that people have done multiple rounds and such. It is a fantastic cardio program...I really leaned out a TON doing my 60 days, but it was hell on my knees and low back. If you have issues…

English teacher busted for not proofreading...my apologies. It's been one of those days...I also didn't put a comma before the conjunction 'but' which should be there since the sentence in question is compound (actually compound-complex). My fingers are typing faster than my brain today.
-
To be honest, 'spot reducing' really isn't effective. To dump the love handles, you simply need to lower your overall body fat percentage.
-
Do some runners stretches and warrior 1/warrior 2 yoga stances. Also, you might do a search for 'psoas' stretch. Tight iliopsoas muscles will affect that area as well (and into the small of your back).

Shakeology utilizes whey protein, so it won't help. They are, however, working on a vegan recipe that would not have whey protein...don't know when it'll be available. That said...soy protein, hemp protein...

I have a recipe for Clean Eating protein bars, and you can make then very calorie dense by adding in extra nuts, seeds, nut butters or fruit. With the ingredients in the recipe, they're right around 190 calories, but could be amped up enough with add ins to be a true 350 calorie 'meal.' Message me if you'd like the recipe.…

Where'd you get your P90X? I'm an English teacher and never noticed the typos in the book but I've heard their are a ton of typos in the bootleg product that's coming from overseas. With regards to your question...if you're doing Classic P90X and are referring to the days when you do a strength workout and Ab Ripper on the…
-
One thing that a lot of people find is that when doing P90X, they need to up their calorie intake by a few hundred calories/day in order to actually lose weight. I can't imagine doing P90X on less than 1500/day (minimum).
-
You do realize that the P90X nutrition plan is just a guide, right? It certainly doesn't mean that those are the ONLY foods you're allowed to eat...they're suggestions that won't jive with every single person on the planet. So...are you going to destroy your progress if you have a piece of chocolate? No. Now, if you eat 5…

Nope...I'm right there with you. LOVE working out. Love the sweat, love the out of the breath feeling, love going to failure with a pair of dumbbells. It makes me feel powerful. I'm sad when it's over and want to do it again, but know I'll break my body down if I do too much. So...for me the worst part of exercise is...…

I did Lean my first go around because the Chest and Back workout (which is day 1 of classic) scared the living crap out of me! I was 204 pounds and horribly weak. I think I would've given up if I had to even think about that many push ups on day #1 (even if they were modified). I did Doubles my 2nd go around and then a…

I've been a constipated mess most of my life (both as a child and as an adult) and finally found something that truly has helped...a nutritional product called shakeology. It does contain probiotics and fiber (apple pectin), but also includes many servings of fruits and veggies in a single 140 calorie serving. I actually…

I'm doing the 20 week ChaLean Extreme/Turbo Fire Hybrid. The first 3 weeks mainly incorporate CLX workouts, but I did 'play around' with both the HiiT and Fire workouts during my last 10 days of my previous round of CLX. Those Fire workouts are calorie scorchers!!!

This is similar to what I do as well...and I find that it keeps me from 'junking out' at other times of the day. You also said that you snack out of boredom at the office right now because it's slow. Is there something else you can do rather than snack? Whenever I want to snack, and it's not really 'snack time' yet, I get…

To make your diary public, click the "MY HOME" tab, then click 'Settings.' In the list of choices, click "Diary Settings." Near the bottom of that page you'll see where you can make it public (if you want to) and then click to save the changes.

If it's the sodas that are really sabotaging your calories (oh, wait...I think I just remembered somewhere you said you drank diet...hmmm, there's recent research that correlates those who drink diet sodas with weight gain...I'll have to look it up), I would certainly try to find other ways to get the caffeine you feel you…

I gain 6 pounds (yes, I said SIX POUNDS) every month when I'm on my cycle. SIX POUNDS! I just keep chugging away at it, knowing that by the end of the week, perhaps it'll show seven pounds less. : )
-
I allow one cheat meal per week, but I'll be honest...I rarely take advantage of it.
-
I try to eat every 3 hours...when I'm at work, though (I'm a teacher), my morning and afternoon snacks sort of have to go whenever I can eat something very simple during class change. I'm an oatmeal person...I have it every morning at 5:30 a.m....plain mixed with 2T flax seed, 1T cinnamon and 1 scoop vanilla protein…

I found the GREATEST whole grain tortillas that are 71 calories, 5 carbs, 8 protein, and 12 fiber...Ole XTreme Wellness Low Carb/High Fiber. LOVE THEM! Shove them full of all kinds of goodies... Fage yogurt mixed with honey and a half of a handful of nuts? I also make my own Protein bars that I find quite tasty (and the…

There's something to be said about regular weigh ins to help keep people on track. That said, the scale, at times, can be a true nemesis and can be destructive for those of us who work hard, watch our nutrition, and then are discouraged with the lack of results. Last year I did 3 rounds of P90X and in my 3rd round, I put…

I'm currently following a 20-week hybrid program, and I have the schedule typed out sitting in my workout area. Once the workout is complete, I scratch through that day's workout with my big red pen. I like seeing all the red marks for some silly reason. I get a 60-90 minute dog walk in every day (rain or shine--the boys…

IMO, the hardest part about P90X is the time commitment. It's 6 days/week, 60-90 minutes per day. I've done 3 rounds (Lean, then doubles, then P90X+), back to back, and was REALLY pleased with my results. I've since moved onto Insanity, ChaLean Extreme, and am now doing ChaLean Extreme/Turbo Fire hybrid. It truly can be a…

She's my pull up hero...she did over 1000 pull ups in 80 minutes trying for a world record (one currently held by a man)
-
There's also Crystal West who currently holds the world record in two pull-up 'divisions.' Here's a video of her doing a little pull-up freestyling...and she doesn't look bulky to me, either. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8O4C64c84uI
-
However...I don't believe most people think about it that way. Many automatically assume (sometimes erroneously) that because they weight more this week than they did last week that they must've gained muscle because 'muscle weighs more than fat' without truly determining if they did, indeed, increase lean body mass and…

I've learned that the scale is NOT the 'end all, be all' to measuring fitness. I, too, was a scale addict and it led me down some very dangerous paths in my mid-20s. I find it hard not to step on every few days, but I forced myself to stow it in the garage during a 90-day fitness program and not step on it once. BEST…

I have to say, ChaLean Extreme is a ROCKIN' workout program. I have lost more weight and clothing sizes doing more strength training and less cardio. I assure you, if you've got CLX, give it 90 days! It is 3 days/week of strength training, 1 true cardio day, and a cardio/light weight interval day. It's only a 5 day/week…
