During my first round of P90X, I had 8, 12, and 15 pound dumbbells. In hindsight, I could have pushed myself harder and used heavier dumbbells to really go to failure, but that would be a good start. This go around (4th round), I'm using 12s, 15, 20, 25, and 30s. You could also get a good set of resistance bands in a…

I'm a 5'9" female...when I pushed play on day #1, I weighed 205 pounds which is right on the overweight/obese borderline (according to BMI). I hadn't done anything more strenuous than walking my dogs sporadically for several years. P90x scared the living crap out of me! That said, after much soul searching, I decided to go…

I prefer 10:00 a.m., however, since I have a full-time job, that doesn't work so well! I have to leave the house for work at 6:15, so if I workout in the a.m., I'd have to start at 4:15. NOT going to happen (though I did do 2 mornings per week for 2 months last year during my P90X doubles rotation). For me, since I get…

To be honest, you can get all the help and support from other people, but until you're truly ready to do it yourself, it may not be all that helpful. To truly commit to something, you have to first identify your personal "Why." WHY do you want to get fit? WHY is getting through a full 90 days of P90X important to you? Once…

I use mine quite regularly on my I.T. band...if I don't roll that area a few times each week, it wreaks havoc on other parts of my body. It's a good, cheap investment in your health. There are a lot of videos on YouTube as well that show how to foam roll different parts of your body.

Walk. You can do it anytime, anyplace, whenever the time works best for you. Walk at a challenging pace, include hills if possible, and increase your walking time as your progress.

I did 3 rounds of P90X//P90X+ in 2009...did other workout programs in 2010. This Thursday I'm starting a 90 day hybrid round of P90X and Turbo Fire. Using strength training/ab workouts from P90X, cardio from Turbo Fire, and a shortish yoga workout from the Tony Horton One-on-One series.

I love the HIIT drills in Turbo Fire, but I'll concur that if it's HIIT you want, that Cathe's HIIT workouts are VERY good (and will get your heart rate up!)

Shoes. I'm a huge believer in taking good care of your feet and joints with good shoes. I have two pair...one for the 3 miles/day that I walk. They are New Balance WR759CS running shoes (though I don't run much) and I get them from a local running store who fits me each time I go. We look at the wear patterns on the shoes…

She does have a Turbo Fire/ChaLean Extreme hybrid created that is located in the back of the book. I did that during the summer and early fall and found it to be a very good program. I am starting a new program this Thursday that will combine 3 days of Turbo Fire with 3 days of P90X strength workouts. I think her Tone 30…

The ChaLean Extreme/Turbo Fire hybrid kicks butt for pears!!!! Gotta' lift some weights (I LOVE ChaLean Extreme's lifting workouts) to help balance on the top and bottom, build lean muscle mass and boost the metabolism. Turbo Fire's cardio workouts are calorie killers!

I consider the 'Lean' version to be more P90X-Lite. It's a great way to get into P90X without the intimidation of the first day's workout which is all pushups and pullups. I would have quit on day #1 if that's where I had to start as I couldn't do a single push up on my toes. I found the Lean version to be a gentler way to…

The cost if $119 plus tax and shipping. It was worth every stinking penny to me. That said, it will require 60-90 minutes of time, 6 days each week. It's a great program, and those who finish it tend to keep utilizing the program for life. However, many have quit 4, 6, 7, 8 weeks in for whatever reason.

I've done rounds of P90X and Insanity. While I thought Insanity was a great cardio program, I will NEVER do a full 60-day round of it again. NEVER. I appreciated the results I got, I found it to be a tremendous challenge, but I dreaded pushing play every day because I found it B-O-R-I-N-G. It lacked variety that I need.…

I'm signed up to run the GA Warrior Dash...I have the 1:30 Saturday start time. I may also travel to my parents in early June as they live a mere 10 miles from the Ohio Warrior Dash as well!!! Oh, and did I mention that I despise running!!!! : P

I have found through the information from my Bodybugg and my HRM that if I can get a 100 calorie burn every 10 minutes, that's a GREAT burn. I've really got to be pushing myself, though, and it generally has to be a high-intensity workout to get numbers that high. I'm always amazed when people post that they burned 1200…

What I do is log everything on MFP and then make one entry into my Bodybugg that I call "Calories 12/20"--I enter in the information for calories and macronutrients that I track here on MFP. Easy peasy.
-
I have the Bodybugg...I used to log all my calories here and then put them in the Bodybugg site at the end of the day. I use MFP because their food database is MUCH more extensive and it's easier to use. Now I just do the math in my head for the deficit, rather than plugging in the number into the Bodybugg site. For…

I have several people that I coach that get Shakeology on home direct in Canada. Never had a complaint from any of them, so I'm going to assume that one of the reasons it's actually available in Canada is because there are no other duties and such that would make it even more cost prohibitive. That said, I'm assuming...

I've had REALLY good luck with the Moving Comfort line of bras, and I buy them online. Their 'bra finder' online tool is actually quite helpful. Here's a list of their sports bras that come in DD/E sizes. http://www.movingcomfort.com/dyn_prodlist.php?k=344605 They're pricey, but I LOVE the two Moving Comfort bras I have.

If your focus is the core toning, I would really recommend Rev Abs. For overall toning/strengthening, ChaLean Extreme or P90X (though as a woman, I prefer ChaLean Extreme).
-
Mine fits neatly above the elastic of my sports bra which is kind of nice as it helps keep the HRM strap in place. Polar makes a sports bra that allows you to insert the strap into the bra, thus keeping it better into place. Of course, not all sports bras are made for everyone's shape, so lucky are those who fit into that…

Plyo X...runner up is Kenpo X. The only 2 workouts of the bunch where I burn over 400 calories (and I busted my butt every single day). Plyo X is generally around 600 cals, and Kenpo X close to 500.
-
I've done both (Insanity after 3 rounds of P90X and Turbo Fire after 3 rounds of P90X, a round of Insanity and a round of ChaLean Extreme). I like Insanity because I truly was in the best cardiovascular shape of my life. My recovery rates were outstanding, and the program was a true challenge to me. That said, my knees…

One thing to consider is that a lot of lower back pain is the result of the psoas muscles going into spasm and then pulling your lower spine out of alignment. The psoas muscles connect lower vertebra to the bones in your hip and pelvis. I've found that doing specific psoas stretches which create more opening in my hips,…

You can contact Beachbody's international sales department and they will ship you the product to the UK. The shipping will be a bit more (and take longer), but you'll be guaranteed that you're not getting a bootlet/counterfeit product. Beachbody just hired a new VP of Global Sales, so it appears that they are trying to…

I was going to recommend ChaLean Extreme as well. It's a great program, even for those of us with two left feet. Since you already purchased Turbo Jam, though, a few things. #1 I would still add 2 days of resistance training into your workout week. You need to develop lean muscle mass in order to help boost metabolism.…

I'm in South Carolina as well...just east of Augusta, GA.

All of the moves in PlyoX, though, are shown modified by Pam the Blam. So, it can be made low impact.
