  • I've done 3 rounds of P90X and then I followed it up with a round of Insanity. I like both programs, but for totally different reasons. If you want a great all-around program, P90X would be the way to go. I also am a big believer in strength training for a variety of reasons. If you are trying to lose weight, strength…
  • If you have cable television, do you have a 'Fit TV' channel? There are many great 30-minute programs on those channels. Also, my cable company, Comcast, has on it's "On Demand" section an entire Exercise section. Lots of great workouts from yoga, to cardio, to strength training in a variety of lengths.
  • I've done full rounds of P90X Lean, P90X Doubles, P90X+, ChaLean Extreme and the ChaLean Extreme/Turbo Fire hybrid. I've dabbled here and there with the One-on-One, Turbo Jam, HHA, Rev Abs, and Slim in 6 workouts. Love them all, and if used consistently, can and will give tremendous results. It's the first time in my life…
  • The schedule is a 5 day/week schedule. If you need it, here's a link via docstoc... http://www.docstoc.com/docs/5106828/ChaLean-Workout-Program-Calendar Nancy
  • I think what happens with a lot of women is that if they are overweight, when they begin working out and lifting weights, they do increase muscle mass, but they haven't yet shed the layer of fat that is over those muscles. Sooo...some women think that they are 'bulking up' instead of toning up. What they're forgetting…
  • Did you also get a copy of the schedule? If not, let me know and I can type something up and e-mail it to you.
  • Got rid of mine last year...was truly a happy moment when my husband took progress picture and I realized exactly what had occurred. Keep working hard at it..you'll get there little by little!
  • If you get a dog that you truly want to run with, please keep in mind that a pup's joints are fully formed until they are well over one year of age. By running distance with a young dog, you could do irreparable damage to their bones and joints. I know that dogs go out and love to run in the yard, but most generally don't…
  • It's a fantastic program. Truly try to lift as heavy as you can within the given reps. Don't be afraid to lift heavier than you think women should...you lift heavy, eat properly, you WILL get results without getting bulky.
  • I, personally, would do the hybrid program. It's INCREDIBLE, provides great variety, and I believe 100% that in order to lose weight, you MUST lift weights. There are two strength workouts (Tone 30 and Sculpt 30) that come with the basic TF program, and they're both quite good, but I think the CLX strength workouts are so…
  • Anything by Cathe Freidrich (www.cathe.com). Many of hers are longer in length (45+ minutes) and calorie killers. As a runner, you might also appreciate the Insanity workouts.
  • "Coachees"--people that I coach. My coaching downline is a very small group of people who want to help others.
  • I love Turbo Fire, but you might look into Cathe Friedrich's "MMA" series. I believe they're available as downloads. Her website is www.cathe.com. In addition, there are previews of her workouts on the site, so you can get an idea of what the workout entails.
  • My rule of thumb (one that my own physician thought was a good plan) is that if my 'illness' is making me feel poorly above the neck (stuffed up, headache, drainage causes a mild sore throat), I workout. If the 'illness' is below my neck (rattle in the lungs, achy, fever, etc.) then I rest.
  • There's a cardio workout led by Patrick Gedreau (spelling?) that I did once that was quite good.
  • Anything by Chalene Johnson (ChaLean Extreme, Turbo Jam, Turbo Fire) or Cathe Friedrich.
  • It's not 30 minutes (it's 50), but I really recommend Cathe Friedrich's "Travel Fit" workout. VERY good. Here's a link to a page that gives you clips of the workout. Just scroll down to the 'travel fit' one: http://cathe.com/video-clips
  • I'm a lowly B/C cup, but the girls still bounce (painfully) if they're not strapped down. I'm a big fan of the Moving Comfort bra. I recently came across the Vixen and the Charity style and LOVE them both.
  • I think before you start running with your dog, you'll first need to establish basics with regards to loose leash walking. Our pup (our 3rd of 3 dogs) just 'graduated' from basic obedience (I attended as well) and it was the BEST thing I could've done for our relationship and for his behavior. It's difficult to start…
  • To stay active, you have to purchase or sell 50PVs of product every 5 week period. So, if you are able to sell a P90X, ChaLean Extreme, or combination of products that equal 50+PV, you will have made a commission of $30 and gotten 90 PVs. Hope that makes sense.
  • I think what we're seeing a lot of, especially on social networking sites such as Facebook, are 'true' coaches and those who abuse the coach status and then drag the true coaches down along with them. I can't tell you how many Facebook posts I see that promise you to "Make tons of money while you lose weight" and the like.…
  • Totally! I think it's the best resistance program for women out there.
  • If you're not feeling it in the Tone and Sculpt classes, you're not using a short enough or thick enough resistance band. I have a variety of bands from Beachbody and I use the Burgundy colored one for both Tone and Sculpt (rather than the pink one that came with the program)...I'm sore as can be and I've been doing…
  • Trying to get over some crud, so no workouts in the past 3 days. Been hitting the sack before 8:00 p.m. and getting 9+ hours of sleep. I'm sleeping like a baby, so I obviously need it. Hoping whatever is trying to get a grip on me goes away!
  • With regards to your question about reliability with walking...I wore my Bodybugg for a year, and also checked it against my heart rate monitor a handful of times. I generally would burn right around 125 calories every 15 minutes of fast pace walking up and down hills (I usually walk around a 4.2 pace). So, 4 miles for me…
  • I've been lifting 3 days/week for the past year and a half, not necessarily because I want to be 'buff,' but because I know that adding lean muscle mass is the BEST way to lose weight and maintain weight loss in the long run. I've gone from 203 lbs (April 2009) to my current of 173ish by utilizing home fitness programs…
  • gearing for Fire 60 class in a few and then an hour walking the dogs. I'm feeling tired, but I'm gonna' go crush that play button.
  • Lean 1 on Saturday (plus I did an Insanity workout), Fire 60 yesterday...I'm SORE today. Lean 2 on the agenda for today.
  • Rev Abs is definitely an easier program overall. In addition, you may feel that without the strength training component, you may lose some of the lean muscle mass you worked so hard to get in the first place. You are right that abs are made in the kitchen. You honestly won't even start seeing your abs until you're down to…
  • NOT like Insanity. Are you familiar at all with Turbo Jam, Chalene's cardio kickboxing program? It's similar to that, but more intense...I like to call it Turbo Jam on steroids. In addition, it does combine HIIT drills which are more plyometric in nature, so there are some squat jumps involved. I did Insanity in January…
