I have done keto long term (periods of 4-6 months) for cutting and it never improved my mental clarity. It seems the people that see improved cognition tend to be those with metabolic disorders and those coming from poor diets. Op, Keto helps me when i cut weight and currently more low carb (net carbs around 50+75g with…

What's terrible is that its only 560 calories. I make a lot of chaffles (pumpkin, chocolate chip, sweet, chaffle grilled cheese, gingerbread). Its the only "bread" my son will eat. If you ever want recipes let me know. Gingerbread!

And hasn't been here since she posted.

So do I. Here was today's meal. Pumpkin stuffed chaffle.
-
I get the feeling that won't apply to the OP.

You don't need a supplement. Aiming for 110-140g of protein would be sufficient. If you aren't gaining weight, then focus on higher calorie foods. For example, use whole eggs instead of egg whites. Also, if you are trying to gain, do it slowly. Aiming for just under 1 lb per week will help mitigate fat gains. Also, make…

Did you get fitted for shoes? For example, for my plantar fasciitis i found out through my local running store that i needed more support. But also, keys are generally rest, and ice. But you should also consider physical therapy.

So it seems you gained some muscle but also gained some fat, which is to be expected. You will likely want to slow cut, continue to push good volume and intensity with exercise, and maintain high protein. By aiming for 3/4-1lb/wk weight loss and 1g of protein/bw, you should sustain most or all of your gains. Unfortunately,…

Mine are no where close to the USDA defaults. Macros are generally to support satiety and goals. In general, if you have fitness goals, then you should increase protein and have a sufficient workout program. So the first step, what are your goals?

I am in the US. I am not a fan of turkey, so i modified that tradition. Yes, that is a pumpkin pie with only 7 net carbs per slice (8 slices per pie in a 10" pan).

There is no difference. I lost 50 lbs in a year at 300g of carbs a day a decade ago. I still lose the same when i am keto. The pro: at this point in my diet career, keto helps my prevent binging and keeps me full longer. The huge con: it mights my performance in the gym go in the shitter. For example, i was maxing out…

My Thanksgiving dinner. Prime rib with keto pumpkin pie, and keto friendly candied pecans. I am not even keto currently (its my diet break season) but enjoy this cooking style.

Definitely get help from a therapist. But you also need a lot more protein, which you seem to be completely lacking. Protein and fats are essential nutrients. Without them, you can die. And you only get them from food.

So two non scale victories. First, i fixed my back issues about a month ago and started squaring for the first time in over a year. I hit 245x4x4. And after my other issue (shoulder) was fixed, i am now back at 225 for sets in bench. Not bad for 163 lbs.
-
Sorry for your issues. Hope you feel better soon!!

Can you leg press, glute ham raise, still leg dumbbell deadlifts, single leg hip thrust? Also,.look into bodyweight exercises.

For a male, your calories are extremely low and I would question if you are going tonget sufficient protein. Depending on your height, its possible to lose a good amount just from glycogen depletion, reduction in food volume and modifications to sodium. How much did you lose the first two weeks?

Gingerbread chaffles!

It's hard to make a real recommendation without seeing pictures. One of the first things I would do is get on a structure lifting program (one focused on hypertrophy like PHAT or PHUL) and ensure you are eating adequate protein (110-140g).…

Here is a thread for hardgainers https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10326769/are-you-a-hard-gainer-please-read/p1

Yes, it would break a fast, as your body would have to metabolize those calories. Would it matter? No.
-
Let's get ready to chaffle!!!

You can certainly gain muscle with plants but you will need higher amounts. Plants have lower levels of L-Luecine which is a primary driver of muscle protein synthesis. And even then, not all plant based proteins are created equal. And yes, its completely healthy to eat meats daily. All the associations of "poor" health…

I miss breyers. I can't find it anywhere. And i can never do the keto ice cream due to the calorie content. I mean 600-800 calories a pint (single serving for me). Heck no... Ill stick to halo top.

My choices for today. Well that, some fruit and my daily protein milkshake.
-
Great. I thought so but it read a bit weird.

Not sure if you meant it that way, while there are 3, well 4 (if you include alcohol) macronutrients, only 2 are essential (amino acids and fatty acids) as glucose can be created.
-
Not really how it works. There are many studies how unlikely carbs will store as fat. In fact, its less than 10% of the time and more often closer to 3%. What carbs happen to do is supress fat oxidation which allows for fatty acids to store more easily. If you want to know how more about it, research de novo lipogenesis.…

That is just not how it works. Also, what is your definition of spiking insulin to extreme levels? There are some semantic difference in how fast and where some sugar are metabolized but its only worth noting those if you are doing nutrient timing for exercise reasons.
