I can understand the boullian or things like broth, pickles or olives, but you don't really need a mg supplement, especially since you aren't active. Also, magnesium can contribute to diarrhea. Its one of the main supplements in hospitals to help patients get their bowels moving. Although, I think they mainly focus on…

Semantically, you absolutely don't need to know your BMR. I don't and haven't known mine for 11 years on this site, but I do know your average TDEE because of tracking. Keto helped you get into a deficit probably by blunting your hunger. OP, it's quite possible that you are eating more "nutritious" foods which can also be…

Yea, I have been pretty sore. I got through the first 3 days yesterday and I feel it.
-
Let me ask this, why do you think you need supplementation? Just because you are doing keto, doesn't mean you have to supplement. I do keto and I workout 1.5 hours almost every day and haven't run into issues.

If something is binding with maltodextrin, it's generally a cheap product. It is such a cheap sugar and you are correct, caused GI issues in some. But also, adding a ton of fat is just unnecessary when it comes to Keto, especially if you goal is to lose body fat. If anything, you are better off focusing on the eggs rather…

I suspect its because collagen protein is the worst protein in terms of L-Luecine content, so it won't help towards building muscle and is questionable on whether it will do anything for your skin or hair.

Great job!!!

Mostly on FB. But if anyone wants them, just let me know and i can post.

My new recipe. Chocolate chip chaffle. This has hershey unsweetened dark cocoa powder with Lily's white and dark chocolate chips. It was delicious!

Oh i gotta find those. My family eats several bags a week. It's a great crunchy snack i can have if i am craving it. No carbs and protein. How can that be a bad thing.

Started to workout yesterday. I am running Jeff Nippards PPL routine from his science explained series. Even though i am still not eating normal and don't have a ton of energy, i did pretty well. So far I like the routine.

Btw, i combined your threads. Try to keep it to one thread

Bring things like nuts and higher calorie protein bars/drinks. Quick and easy way to get in more calories
-
Of course. Ironically, have you tried exercise to stimulate hunger? Weight lifting does that for me.
-
Do you have pics? Most people think they are skinny fat tend to still just be overfat. If you want, you can probably recomp. Also what split are you running?
-
There probably isn't sufficient evidence on this since most "supplements" with hemp haven't been studied much. But in my experience, if you have to rely on a supplement to get gains, you will lose them the moment it becomes ineffective from tolerance or you stop taking it. I would start working on building the habits to…

Ain't that the truth. Hopefully it comes off quickly for you!

Sounds like you implemented Keto wrong. The keto flu is an electrolyte imbalance caused by not consuming adequate sodium, potassium and magnesium. It has nothing to do with your body producing ketones. Most people can produce small levels of ketones (especially while sleeping). Making it your primary source isn't difficult…

Fat has nothing to do with that. Its either you still have too much body fat or perception. Have you done measurements?

https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10326769/are-you-a-hard-gainer-please-read/p1 You can certainly try some of these methods

First congrats on that weight loss. But yeah, you meet almost every prime condition to gain muscle and lose a good amount of fat. You were a younger male, who was morbidly obese, ate high protein and newer to training. So yes, in your situation than its quite possible to gain muscle even on keto. That would deminish or…
-
Out of personal curiosity, how did you measure muscle gains? And what kind of lifting program where you running? And would you mind sharing your stats and your training history? Typically, younger males, who are newer to lifting, and running higher protein will have a greater ability to gain some mass. But there are a ton…

Just to point out, the OP is borderline underweight. I think part of the reason to gain some weight is to get in a better position.

Thank you.

A few corrections. A modified ketogenic diet, the one popular today, is 20-30% protein, so fat would be 60-70%. If you are eating below your Total Daily Energy Expenditure (not your BMR), you will be burning fat. Eating below BMR might be a bad thing depending how many normal daily activity you have. Third, as it relates…
-
Were you using a ketone blood meter measure ketones? If not, it's unlikely you were getting accurate measures. Second, while protein can blunt ketone production a little, it shouldn't matter as your body will still go back into ketosis shortly after consuming. Thirdly, and I can't stress this enough, protein should be a…

So a diet break turned into a stomach virus. So much for eating and training this week.

I can understand where the RD was coming from, especially if you have a personality like my wife. She tends to obsess over numbers and can get discouraged by them. Instead, i have been working on implementing better habits and using low calorie food replacements to still incorporate foods she loves. She has also started to…

I disagree with you looking like crap, 😆. Both are impressive. And yea, i most bodybuilders I know that use Keto will carb load a few days out.
