Big night for me. After not doing squats or deadlifts for over a year due to injuries, i was finally able to do squats. All sub 90° and no pain. 185x6, 195x6, 205x6, 215x6, 225x4 . Now gotta work my way back to 300.

If you can, add weight each session (even if its the lowest increment available). And if you don't hit the total reps, you maintain weight until you hit total reps. So the key would be write it done.

One other piece of information, i find that if i have 3 large meals (no snacking) it makes it a lot easier to stay full. So maybe 2-3 very high volume, high protein meals will help.
-
In general, reduce or eliminate highly processed foods, so more whole foods. Also, more lean proteins and dairy, as well as, low gi high volume fruits and veggies (i.e., berries, spinach, etc...). And you can also play with macros to see if fat or carbs have a bigger impact on hunger. For me currently, the more i have…

It's likely that you also drop your sodium when you diet. If you worry, have a chat with your doctor.

Thanks. My wife agreed these were the best ones i have created to date. Now i just need a smoker to take it to the next level.

Most of us here have been doing this for quite awhile. Greg doesn't provide any evidence or support for his position. If you want to eat at maintenance while you are overfat thinking you will get lean, then best of luck to you. But trying to force your position by spamming a video isn't going to change our positions. And…

I would caution you to run OMAD, especially as a vegan. Vegan sources of protein are already inferior from an L-Luecine standpoint, so if you want to maintain muscle mass, you want to more frequently stimulate muscle protein synthesis, which would require close to 30-40g of protein per meal. Given the direct correction…

Some things you should consider. First, you need to adequately rest to help make the gains. If you haven't seriously trained int the past, 2x programs a day is not going to help. You would be better off really pushing yourself (with good form) at the gym, and work on overall good nutrition. Honestly, if you can come home…

So let's also be completely transparent. Greg didn't get to his body by main-gaining or body recomposition. He got there through traditional bulks (bodybuidling) and drugs. Also his discussions is completely theoretical. Body recomposition has it's purpose and is beneficial for some people. But it's not for those who have…

I would recommend you do a bit more research. Bulking and cutting still is a thing. The issue is there is a subset of people who still want to be forever lean or the other set up people, who are just as uneducated, and think you need to go bear mode when bulking. There are plenty of solid nutritional strategies to prevent…

So let's define something so you have the full picture. Greg Douchette didn't get his physique naturally or by "main-gaining" which BTW is him trying to rebrand recomposition. He got his through hard training, bulking/cutting and drugs. It's ok that he did that, but you need to understand the full context. Second, is…

It helps with the workouts for a few days. It's more that i can incorporate things like english muffins and oatmeal. So it's more mental. But if i try to incorporate them during a cut, i find my calories just add up quickly and i find myself "cheating" a bit too much.
-
Absolutely. To expand OP, do you lift? If so, what is your program and how long have you been lifting?
-
So i decided going back to CKD. So I will cut for two weeks and then have two high carb low fat days at maintenance and repeat. Day 1 at 167.4lbs.
-
If you goal is to maintain or gain muscle, while losing weight, OMAD is going to be suboptimal as you are not stimulating MPS frequently and there is a cap for how much protein a person can utilize in a given period; it will use all the amino acids and calories, but more protein doesn't mean greater MPS rates. One of the…

https://youtu.be/AKKCLavkZw8 I suspect some of the stuff he talks about in this video applies to this situation.

Did that stem from Layne's recent IG post? He was just making fun of that carnivore doctor who ignores the prevailing evidence of the benefits from F&V.
-
So its been 6 weeks and outside of water weight changes, i have not lost any weight. Considering saying screw it and go back to Keto since its almost winter and i won't miss fruit as much. Oh the struggle bus to get super lean.
-
Definitely the key. I can't tell you how many underweight people I know battled this. Adding muscle is the primary mechanism to help "fill in" the skin. This would be a great point to follow a structured progressive overload lifting program (see below), increase protein consumption and possible spread protein consumption;…

Not exactly. The fact of the matter is, carbohydrates rarely convert to body fat. The studies on de novo lipogenesis show it's like 3%. What tends to happen is carbs inhibits lipolysis and blunts fat oxidation. So the fats you consume along with your carbs and/or proteins will then store more readily. And you also talking…

Well done. You don't look fluffy at all

I am getting leaner. I just need to get rid of the lower belly and then i would like to lean bulk. My weight is trending appropriately to hit my goal by Halloween (163). And then ill have a goal is 159 by Thanksgiving. I suspect i need to be around 155 to be lean enough to get rid of my belly bump lol. My ultimate goal is…

#truth!!!

<--- still jealous! And following other people's bulks.

A semantic correction and I apologies for being pedantic. Your body can process all the protein your throw at it in a single meal. But what you are more likely referring to is the amount of protein associated with muscle protein synthesis. MPS rates are not really different if you whether you consume 30 or 90g in a single…

You and I definitely could not train together, lol. I hate full body programs. I thrive on Upper Lower or PHAT style workouts. In fact, since my back is making really good progress, I just restarted my own designed U/L/U/L/U program; I had to self design based on injury and the rules my gym is currently following. So I ran…
