I would question that. I helped a women recomp from 26% to 14.1% over a 2 year period. That would definitely be equivalent to being sub 10% for males. But of course individual response is going to vary.

I use protein is two major ways. Protein milkshakes and add it to my Greek yogurt. I have used a variety of flavors so i can have different shakes nightly. I do a modified keto diet (CKD to be specific with periodic diet breaks). I run higher protein than most keto'ers as i run around 1-1.2g per lb (~30-40%); so 170-200g.

What is your typical weekly weight loss rate? How many grams of protein are you eating? What is your exercise routine?
-
Given how there is little ability to actually guage calories burned during exercise, and as long as the OP isn't losing extremely fast, then its probably ok. Also take into consideration that most people typically don't account for all calories. Even professionals can undercount the amount of calories consumed. Using a…

What's your protein goal?

Honestly, there are two reasons i get certified humane free range eggs. 1 they taste so much better (although not as good as my friends personal chickens) and 2. I can get 18 eggs for $3.25. If i had to pay $5-6 for them, i would still be eating regular eggs. I only switched because Lidl US is super cheap. Regarding…

I am on vacation this week. So no dieting. Suspect I'll be up several lbs when i am done. But that is just how it always goes.
-
When you IF, how much protein are you eating? And how much fat?
-
I regularly use protein powders to help keep my protein high. I add it to yogurt or make shakes.

Just get back on the train. Fasting and exercise can accelerate getting into ketosis but that may or may not matter depending on what you are trying to achieve
-
Our taste are very similar. Didn't have time to do a PEScience order. OP, if you struggle with protein, or just want it to be higher, than protein powder is a good choice. Caffein can help with appetite suppression in some. But, not much else helps and the legal ones that can aid fat loss are not something I would…

There are a lot of us in the bodybuilding section. You should come check it out

While a lot of protein can blunt ketone production, its would only be short term and often won't even blunt it to a point to getting out of ketosis. More importantly, unless you have a metabolic disorder where ketones are a necessity, than it doesn't matter. OP, you should never stress that you are eating too much protein.…

This is why it's so important to take advice from people who study the field and most importantly, a set of specialized doctor that can evaluate each case. But in general, a disease of overproduction of glucose would benefit from a diet lower in glucose. Not saying keto, but lower carb. If anything, if SFA are concern from…

On that website, i bet they will endorse plant based for every ailments. Its more propaganda than science. Its like taking advice from Dr. Fung.

Personally, it's been a very effective way for me to get leaner. It helps that I tend to be a heavy meat and dairy eater naturally. Ultimately, you do need a deficit to lose weight. If keto blunts your appetite and you find it helpful, then go for it. You can always transition to another diet as you want to maintain. It's…

Time and patience. Exercise can develop your ab muscles (strength and size) but not cause you to lose fat in that area. Based on my experience, we tend to underestimate body fat and overestimate muscle so it often requires you to continue to lose weight longer to get the body you want.

For breakfast? No. But as dessert? Hell yea! Mine is: 1 scoop protein 9 oz almond milk 15ml heavy cream or 60ml half and half 1/4 tsp xantham gum 10g sweetener 1 cup ice A normal protein shake won't fill me up but these do. And i have them almost every night.

Unless you have some medical condition, then don't over stress about it. That is about what i have an my BP is 100/60. I am active and require more sodium then a sedentary person.
-
Well then lol. You would think that would be sufficient volume.
-
How much volume you pushing a week on your chest?
-
Thanks everyone. I just need to get rid of the lower pouch.
-
So i never really post pictures, but i got some good lighting and flexing. :D Current physique after going back to carbs.
-
If one thing is certain, most people overestimate the amount of muscle they have and underestimate fat. I thought once I got to 170, I would be lean as hell. I am in the mid 160s and I still have another 10lbs to go.

Like your triglycerides and fasting blood glucose went up? It's not unusual for total cholesterol to increase because HDL and even LDL can increase. But that doesn't mean you are in a worse metabolic position. If weight is trending down, fasting blood glucose and triglycerides are improving, while HDL is increasing, you…

Out of curiosity, what part of your cholesterol went up?

The link doesn't compare low carb vs low fat. Its more based on observational data as opposed to RCTs. Also, a lot of the evidence against meat based proteins is outdated. Once you separate out processed vs unprocessed meats ill effects go away. One of the problem is there are a lot of cofounding variables that can effect…
