  • I put finely shredded cheese on the griddle in tablespoons. They melt, flip once, and enjoy?
  • There's a great group focusing on LCD. Go check them out at https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/394-low-carber-daily-forum-the-lcd-group
  • Paula, I wish my keto breath were sweet. To me it just feels like I really really need to brush my teeth. Yuck! Of course, I haven't tested my blood/ urine/ saliva ketones but I'm sitting at about 12-15 net carbs a day and the weight is sliding off, so I assume I am. Count yourself lucky!

  • Fantastic! I'm sure your time eating low carb before starting keto was a huge help. Keep it up and keep us updated.
  • I'm in. 1. Log every day 2. Log water every day (and hit >64oz 5 days a week) 3. Average at least 1.5 lb weight loss/ week 4. Quiet time every day
  • Give it a couple of weeks before you give up- listen to your body- drink water- electrolytes- plan ahead when you're out and about (almonds are fantastic)- get a great cookbook with recipes you'll actually make- ask questions
  • I'm finishing my second week of keto and feeling pretty good. I am a hard-core sugar addict, so I started as a way to really get myself away from the insulin yo-yo I felt on even a moderate carb diet (my blood sugar has always been good on routine blood tests, so no medical problem with sugar, I just crave it but feel…
  • My pantry is bursting to full. I could run a city-wide soup kitchen. :) Thanks for the reminder about sodium. I knew I might be getting dehydrated, so I upped my water intake, but didn't think about sodium. I'll take another look at my protein, too. Coming from a diet low in animal protein, I'm definitely searching for…
  • I'm on Day 5 and like it so far. I am (was?) seriously addicted to sugar and had the energy swings to prove it. Combine that with insulin-resistance in my family and I'm excited to see what happens to my energy. Except for a Day 3 keto-flu (thought I was going to DIE!), I feel great. Energy up, appetite way, way down. I do…
  • I'm new to it- in my first month- and like it so far. Weight is coming off crazy fast, I'm never hungry, have tons of energy, and it's easy to modify recipes for my non-keto family members. I have a family history of glucose intolerance and a personal history of feeling unwell after a heavy carb meal, so I'm using it as a…
  • I'm on day 5 of Keto and it's not too bad yet. Had a bit of a keto flu on Day 3, but drank my water and felt tons better.
