Nope. But, @Behindblue_eyes definitely <3

I did see that much increase at points. But, I have to say, 5-pound swings come very often depending on my eating--carbs and other things that retain water!!!

Thank you. That's really helpful. I am on Metformin (the max). Will ride it out.
-
That is awesome. Maybe you can say a bit more about the time it took you to get to there? I was disappointed a couple of weeks ago that my A1C was 6.7 (for the second time) even though I thought I was doing extremely well with eating and exercise. Did it take you longer than you expected? Good job though, keep the good…

That's very helpful, thank you.

Thank you. I will check my food again, but I have been very strict about carbs, between 30 and 50 grams of net carbs a day! most of my other food is prepared at home, meat, cheese, nuts, and some vegetables (with limits for the carb intake). But I think it's a matter of keeping at it. In any case, I am benefiting greatly…

Thank you Paul, you're quite on point there. I was just thinking along the same lines, that I am all better because of the healthy lifestyle, my ability to focus and do creative work is amazing again, after years of fogginess.

That's too bad. I find it in almost all grocery stores around me. But it is quite expensive, about $35-40. On a vacation, I made the mistake and let my kids, 11 and 8, order filet mignon and now they will not accept any other steak :)

Filet mignon, hands down. Cannot afford it as often as I'd like to though. Then NY strip, ribeye, and the rest.

I love the way you're looking at it and it make sense. Do you have an average though, even if in a week or more? Or, do you go by percentage of daily calories--if you workout more, then you take more carbs, which makes sense too.

That is amazing because it's exactly what I've been going through. I lost 20 in 4 weeks too and got stuck since then. It's been the same number of weeks. I started on July 12, lost quickly and then plateaued. Hmm. I checked things out and supposedly it sometimes has to do with eating less than your body needs: if you eat…

You did an awesome job before and I trust you will again. Good job. I'm the same height as you, but will feel definitely way too skinny under 168 or 170 (maybe the difference has to do with male/female? or small/large fram?). My favorite weight, the one I am most comfortable with and the one I am going for, is between a…

I agree with @kiddycat73 Interesting, I wouldn't count those in the net carbs though.

If you don't mind me asking, since am a fellow diabetic :(, is that because you take meds besides metformin? I was prescribed glipizide and felt awful because my BG was going low (had to eat sugar) and then going up (had to take glipizide). I quit the med and my sugar does not go too low at all. Might be a different…

That's amazing. In 3+ months? What a trip!

Hi, Be easy on and nice to yourself :) You're doing good. I don't think that gain has anything to do with your eating or habits--too little and too soon to be telling. I often see a couple of pounds more or less: sleeping differently, eating too much salty foods the day before, the time of weighing (no matter how accurate…

I lost so much ten years ago and kept it off until an injury that prevented me from running and slowed me down. I restarted on July 8, lost track with busy schedule of family visits, work, travel, etc., for three weeks since then. Now back again. I lost 21 pounds since July 8 and did not gain in the three past weeks…

I like fruits, but I changed the way I eat them. For example, I cut an apple to 4 pieces and eat one at a time for my snack, with something else like cottage cheese, etc. So, I still eat the fruits I like (Mellons, apples, grapes, bananas (those are tough), strawberries, tomatoes, avocados and more), but in less quantities…

@camtosh just checked your profile and you seem to have been successful for a number of years. How did that work? what was it that made weight loss stick?
-
This is a great list. Thanks.

How do you get your carbs under 20? I am so interested in doing that, but it seems so much of any foods we eat, we add to the carb counter, at least a bit. Can you describe a breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks for a day that keep carbs under 20?
-
Thank you. I think it's willpower like @Emmapatterson1729 said. I've been good in the last couple of days. Three more :)

I've got the cauliflower rice and initially cooked it without paying attention to people's suggestions. Just build it, etc. it was awful, just awful. However, because I heard many give it praise, I decided to try again. I tried a quick ten-minute recipe. The meal was amazingly awesome. It really was, even though there was…

Ok, here is a random one. I just started training again a couple of months ago. One thing I am trying to do a few times a week is yoga. I cannot get over the fact that both men and women who work out at my gym whether doing yoga (especially yoga) or other training stuff are amazingly hot, as in they (not all, but certainly…

Thanks both. I'm new to the keto/low carb diet and have been experimenting here and there. I'm still not settled on a particular direction. I am reducing net carbs to anywhere between 20 (on a good da) and lower than 50.
-
@Keliz1173 Sorry, I just noticed you said net carbs. But what were those when on keto diet?
-
Since you seem to have successfully followed Keto or low carb diets, I have a question: when you say "ketone", what level of carbs do you mean? And, is that total carbs or net carbs?
-
Very interesting. Haven't thought of that. I did think that I need to get myself some electrolytes. Thanks so much for the info.

I am over weight, but feeling really weak if I have no calories in me. Today was tough for many hours, but got better in the evening (it helped I got a bit hungry). I am assuming I need to eat 1500 calories at least!
