Thanks Carson -- my speed work is your walking I think! I did a mile prior and was supposed to be doing speedwork but I just did 200m runs at a reasonable pace walked 200m and repeated x 4 times around the track. Then did a 200m cooldown run.

Wow this kills me guys ... I think I might need to drop back to the half ... I was going to finish deciding in 2 weeks. I went out there tonight for speedwork and I am dead (ok in the interest of full disclosure I did 60 burpees and 70 wall balls and 30 clean and jerks before coming out to speedwork). But I had foot pain…

I do CrossFit. I love it.

I guess I will have to judge this as I go. I can drop down to the half if I need to at the last minute, but I just love this full course so much that it would make me very sad (because I dislike the half course). I think I will have my answer by the next two weeks. I have a 10 miler on July 13th... if that feels like I…

I think I am ... I am returning to running after a hiatus and my marathon is scheduled for Sept 22nd. This isnt my first marathon but I am getting varied opinions about my ability to get back up to speed by then.

Thank you for your advice. Do you have any good make ahead recipes that freeze well that you would like to share?

I gave up string cheese ... weird I know but I was eating too much of it!

Wow I just want to say thank you to everyone for the link -- I am stalking everyone! I do great with the exercise but struggle mightily with the cooking aspect because I just do not have time.

Talk to your doctor, but that arrhythmia is not a contraindication to running. I would suggest starting out by running for 30 seconds every 1/2 mile and if that goes ok then try running for 10 seconds and walking for 50 seconds ... then just increase it slowly. If you feel light headed or dizzy, stop your activity and do…

Thank you so much for all of the kind words! I could have never done it without the support of my friends here on MFP! :) Blog about the event to be coming soon, I promise!

I am not one of "those" people when it comes to weight loss, but I struggle because I might just be one of "those" people when it comes to running. I do not discuss weight loss, eating, etc. But I am known around the hospital as that crazy runner girl and people are always asking me about my next race, or my run scheduled…

Either have 2 and throw the rest out -- or I love the smash them and throw them out idea. Often times I will give into a craving though because otherwise I will keep thinking about it. I often find that when I give in its not as good as I thought!

What a beautiful smile!

A couple months ago I was running a fun run with a group and got seperated from the group. I was running along struggling a little bit on a hot day when a guy playing frisbee golf decided to point and MOOO at me. Seriously! I stopped.... pulled my headphones out of my ears and said "exactly how many half marathons have you…

I find it simply amazing in society that apparently fat-ness is the one last beacon that we feel that we are able to judge people on. Although it used to be race or sex, since this is simply inappropriate many people maintain it is okay to judge people based on their size. As a formerly morbidly obese person, I know that I…

I spoke with my mom -- she said it was not painful ... but nervous for the first one. The second biopsy she did not want to be numbed up for so that one was painful... just thought I would let you know this information.

Usually benign. Usually occurs in people with fibrocystic breast disease (people with very lumpy and bumpy breasts). Increased risk for breast cancer not because of the fibrocystic breast disease but because small nodules will likely not get taken care of in those people because they often stop examining themselves and…

Oh and we were all nervous to go to our first running store ... In fact my blog about my 2 year anniversary of the first time I went to Fleet Feet (our local running store) is located right here ... Its amazing to me that a place that I used to cringe walking into is now seriously like HOME to me ... You can find my blog…

Hey I also run in the Brooks Ghost ... I recently switched from Saucony shoes because of my shin splints and they went away with the Ghosts!

I started running at 276 pounds ... I am currently 233 pounds and I have run 13 half marathons, several 5Ks and I am training for my first marathon right now. I have lots of advice since I have been there ... and done that ... and still doing that 1. Do not call yourself a jogger -- you are a runner. None of us jog, we…

I will be out of town that weekend unfortunately, otherwise I would have been in!

All treadmills should be put at an incline of 1% otherwise you are actually putting more stress on your knees because an incline of 0% is a slight downhill (hard on the knees) and an incline of 1% mimics outside running.

It depends on what your goals are. If you goals are to run the whole thing, it may be a bit rough of your body. If you goal is to run some of it and increase your distance/speed etc than go for it. Look into Jeffgalloway.com for a different run/walk/run program that is more suited to your needs. I started running at 276…

Bump ... I would not use it as a weight loss tool, but I am about 40 pounds down and I already have sagging skin .... Has anyone had the arm flab done?

I have not lost a pound since January but yet I have continued to drop inches and get more toned. I am in a small shirt and pants size. I have stuck with the exercise and I try to make the best choices that I can. I do not care about a number on a scale so much as much as I care about smaller clothes and looking good in…
