same as most above...I had tried to limit calories from 2000 to 1500 with the goal of weight loss- saw a significant drop in milk within 3 days. Decided to just focus on being healthy and having a healthy baby, went back to 2000. Didn't start losing until we finished breastfeeding. So, give yourself credit for maintaining…

Try apple pie, it's my go to and much better than any of their chocolate flavors (and I LOVE chocolate anything). Also, if you look at their website, they provide "recipes" for their bars...kinda fun to play with and great/easy treats that are high in protein and low in everything else.

I vote Quest bars to go and IsoNatural for shakes...not an "amazing" taste but all natural ingredients, low fat, low carbs, high protein. I switched to it from Gold Standard when I was pregnant and haven't switched back. Casein is slow digesting, so you can drink it at night or whenever you feel hungry but don't want to…

I know some people say that breastfeeding did wonders for their post baby weight loss. I wasn't so fortunate. I continued to eat healthily though and worked out as able. My weight was stable but no loss. To try and tone up, I cut my calories to 1500. I didn't see a difference in my supply until the 3rd day...when every…

This is a wonderful and challenging commitment. Have you considered getting together with any Foster parent/family support programs in your area? They really are the ones that will be able to tell you exactly what to expect, challenges and rewards.

I remember when I first started to workout, I knew nothing about nutrition. If you don't know, it's impossible to discuss something to the standard of someone that has been living the fitness lifestyle. Troll? Maybe. Or maybe just a beginner? Teluge, it's ok to be new because the learning is fun and exciting...and gets you…

That's pretty much where I am and headed toward 145. How long did it take you to get to 130 and what was your plan?

What a change! Great job!!! You took something you could change, and went for it!!

For energy and a fun taste, I use water flavoring with caffeine. Personally, I like to push hard and the slight sweetness is a great pick-me-up that makes me smiles as I squat and look forward to the next sip :) IsoNatural or a Quest bar afterwards if no real food is available. I've also heard good things about a…

Try stress eating cucumbers, maybe with a bit of salt. I find that as long as I'm chewing on something tasty when cravings/stress hit, I'm pretty content. Tea/Coffee and then work out? Get yourself out of the house, go for a walk, chew suger-free gum, eat mints. Eat an apple. Eat two apples and follow that up with cut up…

Don't keep foods that you binge on around, keep apples/cucumbers/berries close by and cut up:). To go off of what someone mentioned about grocery shopping-go only when you are full, and if possible go in the AM. I've read that willpower is strongest in the morning and decreases as the day progresses. AM is also easier…

Quest bars....they have 24 grams of protein, 5 grams of carbs, 5 ingredients, most of which I can read :) Oh, and they taste great. The best way to get protein is with real food, the next best is to get something that is as close to real food as possible. I've found Quest bars do that for me.

You can also add protein powder and raisins to the Cream of Wheat...really really tasty, quick, and filling...at least for a little bit. I bet if you added a fat to it (coconut oil?) it would be more filling. Steel Cut oats are really great as well, filling. I recently discovered overnight oats...look up the recipes…

Hey, we all need a goal and if cookies get you out, then cookies it is. That's awesome, you rock!!

Pregnant...feeling sad/blah...the fix? Pop-Tarts. This is one of my few binges and man...it was a binge. 4 poptarts...30 mins....delicious. Donating the rest to the office. Did you know those suckers have 200 cals/37 g of carbs EACH?!?!? I just inhaled 800 cals and obliterated my daily carb goal. Why the hell do they come…

What do they consider as a "dietary issue"? Is it self declared or do you need a doctors note? I would say that most people have some sort of dietary issue...something that makes them feel blah. Ideas: gluten sensitivity/ certain foods make cramps worse (no one wants to discuss cramps in detail ;)/ headaches triggered by…

You know, you're not going to find a 1 for 1 substitute because what makes the traditional pancakes what they are, is the stuff that you're trying to avoid :) That said, it doesn't mean that you can't have traditional every now and again...while enjoying the amazingly delicious AND healthy alternatives at other times. I…

I loved the boxing class I took for a few weeks! Absolutely KILLED my knuckles (how did you deal with that?), but I loved the workout and feeling in powered. I may look into it again once I get some things sorted :) Great post, keep up the hard work!!

Wow, there is some great advice here! I second looking at bodybuilding.com videos and printing off their plans. Also, I've head great things about the book New Rules Of Lifting for Woman. I thing having a plan is SUPER important, here is why: If you have a plan in hand, you'll walk into the weight room with a purpose and a…

It absolutely worked for me and I didn't have a lot to lose. It was the only thing to help me with those last 5 lbs. That said, I was following the meal plan for the most part. I'd make a large batch of dinner and have it for lunch. I loved the program!

I've done all three of these and I can't say enough good things about 30 Day Shred...seriously, I'm like a talking/walking ad for it. I'm in decent shape and doing the video really got me cut...as in...really....particularly my upper body (but you have to stick with it :) If you buy the video on Amazon, it's about $10.00…

This is exactly my problem as well, I'm traveling right now so it's actually an issue but if I'm home, this works every single time: Double Chocolate Casein. It's a slow burning protein and it reaaalllyy fills you up. You can have it just with water in a shaker bottle, or, to make it taste like a milk shake, run your…
