  • Try putting on something that was tight 40 pounds ago. Is it still tight? I've only lost 11 ponds so I'm really impressed with your 40 and I put on a pair of pants that I bought in June before I started losing weight. They were tight and I could barely get to the belt on. I put them on yesterday and they were baggy, I was…
  • great question. Interesting to read how it affects people differently. I love it BUT it keeps me awake at night and I already have a hard time falling asleep - I'm a night owl in an early bird world. If i drink it to get going in the morning, then I need to drink it the next day to get going because I didn't get enough…
  • OK ----revealing my age here 1. Brad Pitt - can't get enough of him 2. George Clooney 3. ummmm, Gary - old boyfriend
  • I put on pants that I bought in June that were tight and today they were loose. I had to keep pulling them up and I had the belt all the way to the last notch. great topic by the way...it's the small successes that add up to big ones and keep us going if we acknowledge them but its so easy to overlook them when the…
  • thanks - didn't know they had a scale...I'll check it out.
  • I'd like to be part of this group. I'm not sure how to do that. I am a former teacher and currently I get to train teachers and administrators on an assessment management application. My goals for September: continue losing 1 pound a week stay within my calorie limit each day (except on my free day) do my shapers 3x a week…
  • You're welcome to friend me too. There are alot of "youngsters" on this site so its fun to connect with people my age. I joined in July, the same time I started following Choose to Lose. I'm 10 pounds down and going strong. Usually this is about the time I'm bored to death with whatever diet I'm on - and believe me, I've…
  • great job! keep it up!
  • thanks! I'll check it out.
  • Thanks for all the great recommendations. I spent 90 bucks last night at TJ's because of this thread. I'm delighted though because I didn't realize there was so much good food there that I was overlooking. I go a few times a month - now I'll be shopping weekly. Last night I had a mini brie - 70 calories and the ranchero…
  • that's dedication!
  • I agree with you. Those are the only pictures that make me feel uncomfortable. I get showing off your body when you've worked so hard to get a body to show off but showing your boobs - what does that have to do with losing weight or getting healthy - unless you got the boobs through weight training - then, yes, show off…
  • Great topic...i'm not really crazy about bucket lists in general but for some reason, this one interests me. 1. do a regular pushup (not a "girl" pushup) 2. do a pull up (until recently, I could barely pull myself up off the couch so this will be a really big accomplishment) 3. bend over and touch the ground with my hands…
  • Frozen turkey meatloaf muffins w/spinach and Parmesan mashed potatoes - 220 calories. Great to pack for lunch. Micro in 1.5 minutes.
  • great question! dried cranberries - if I have them in the house (intended to sprinkle on my salads), I will eat a big handful or two right before bed every night until they're all gone...not good. Not only extra calories but so much sugar right before bed.
  • sounds yummy! can't wait to try it.
  • Love this plan. Really feel that it's something I can stick with for my lifetime and finally reach my weight loss goals! I've been trying for 25 years - really! I love the alternating low and high carb days. I find it pretty easy to stick to. I can give up carbs for one day at a time. What absolutely makes this so doable…
  • Thanks for sharing. You've done tremendously well. I didn't even know there was a group for Choose to Lose...I'm excited. I've been doing it since July 2 and have lost 9 pounds - and I am proud of that weight loss...my goals has been a pound a week. I NEVER want to regain this weight. I want this to be a change I can do…
  • You look really good at 55 so congratulations - you're doing something right. I'm 55 too. It's a crazy time with the periods. I think I'm done with them now - it's been at least 2 years but for me it was so sporadic. Like I didn't have a period for a year and then all of a sudden, I started bleeding. At the time I was also…
  • Thanks all for the valuable feedback. Got some good ideas to consider. trying to get enough sleep is a challenge though...but I can definitely put more effort into it.
  • Love how well you documented your journey with pics! Excellently written and so inspiring. The difference in your body between not exercising at 130 and weight lifting at 134 is remarkable. A picture is worth a 1000 words. I can't believe the difference in your arms and your butt from weight lifting! I'm motivated to get…
  • Put on some of your fat clothes - if you still have em then dance around in them in front of a mirror. See how difficult it is to keep your pants up because their too lose and keep falling off or how the sleeves are too long and too big. If i get 50 lbs off, I will be sooo happy because the most weight i've ever lost is 20…
  • You look like you weigh 120 pounds now. lookin' good. what an inspiration you are.
  • I hear ya sister. I have been dealing with this issue for 25 years...get all motivated, go on a diet, deprive myself, lose weight, get bored with my limited food selection or life just happens (lose my job, move, etc) and before I know it, I'm back to eating the way I was before the diet and not only gain the weight back…
  • I had to give up a best friend who wasn't there for me when I was going through a really difficult time with my only child when he was in middle school. I ended up going through it with no support from anyone - his dad was too busy with the new woman in his life which, by the way, significantly contributed to my son's…
  • I know exactly what you mean...I've done the same yo-yo dieting for too many years and am now heavier than I ever was - well now that I'm 8 lbs down - I'm not at my heaviest weight anymore  . I think I may have found a plan I can live with that's helped me lose the 8 lbs in 6 weeks which is exceeding my goal to lose…
  • Great story! Keep up the good work! Coolest part for me was you being there again for your wife and kids - in the end, that's what matters.
  • The thing I found about depriving myself is that I can only do it for so long and then something happens, and I break down and eat a "forbidden food" and it tastes so good that I just can't stop and before I know it, I'm not following my "diet" plan, have gained all the weight back plus more...and then I am angry and…
  • It's so motivating, isn't it? Wednesday night I put on some shorts that were previously snug on my thighs. I noticed they looked different but honestly, it took me awhile to realize that they were too loose. When I kept having to pull them up, it finally dawned on me...and then I got real happy because I've only lost 5…
