  • Hey :) I started on September 1st, so I'm just ahead of you :) I'll add you girls as friends, and I can let you know what's to come every 2 weeks haha
  • Wow look how much your stomach and hips shrank! That's great advice to keep trying the moves that are hard every single time until you can finally do them :)
  • Hey everybody :) I just started Phase 1 of Body Revolution this week. I did 30 Day Shred back in December, and I had probably the best results I've ever had in a month. HOWEVER, I was SOOO bored doing the same video 10 days in a row that I took a major Jillian break and have just been doing other videos and workouts since…
  • Finished day 2 of the beginner's calendar. The ABC Abs video was kind of silly but interesting I thought. LoopyLaura mentioned starting a group for people doing the beginners calendar this month, so I just went ahead and did that, and I invited anyone who might be interested :) (No pressure to join of course!)
  • I'm going to try following her beginners calendar for the month of July if anyone wants to join me :)
  • I started taking kpop dance classes 5 evenings a week just last month. The scale hasn't budged (my own fault- I've been eating back most of my exercise calories) HOWEVER I've definitely gotten comments from people that I've lost weight since starting dance classes. Every week is a new dance, so we learn the routines fast…
  • I'm thinking of starting again June 2nd/3rd. I've definitely fallen back into old habits, even though I felt so great before :( I'm finding myself a lot busier these days, and I just haven't been planning things like I should. I really need to try to get back into the habit of weekend prep! This Friday and Saturday, I have…
  • You're making me feel better, belle ;) I'm also just having a rough week. I've been in Korea almost 2 years, and strangely I've never felt so homesick :-/ I did a light walk for an hour, and I'm going to do a YouTube video now for maybe 30-45 minutes- just something light like ballet or pilates. In the end, I guess…
  • Wow congrats! I also couldn't get through NMTZ with 5 pounds, and after half of a circuit switched to 3 pounds hehe. And I'm so happy to hear about your endurance improving! I've never been able to run more than about a mile in my life. I've tried programs like Couch to 5K, but I found even that was a struggle and never…
  • Sigh, I'm really trying not to feel like a failure, since I started this challenge and all, but I kinda do. The last three days have been really stressful/emotional between work, life, relationships, etc. I'm going to do a workout to help myself feel better (so I'm feeling good that that's the decision rather than turning…
  • All right ladies (and gentlemen,) today's going to be one of those days I'm content with just a long walk. Walking to and from a coffee shop to meet friends for a long evening of board games ended up being over 4 miles. And now that it's after 11 PM and I still have homework to finish tonight, I think trying to squeeze in…
  • One word of warning from experience- don't use cajun spiced black beans even if that's all you have in your cupboard haha. (The smell lingered in my house for days.) Otherwise, black bean brownies are fantastic!
  • I can't even believe you made so much progress in 3 months! That's awesome!!
  • I know several years ago, Banish Fat Boost Metabolism used to kill me, but now I find it's not so bad. 45 minutes is usually my ideal workout length unless it's something pretty low impact (and then 60 minutes is good) or crazy HIIT stuff (~20 minutes) so maybe that's why I like NMTZ and BFBM :) I think the length of…
  • I had planned on doing Banish Fat Boost Metabolism yesterday as well, but I got home really late from an unexpected out of town funeral I had to go to after work. Decided on a shorter, easier Phase 1 workout from the Body Revolution set instead. Good idea to mix and match circuits so it's like a new workout each time you…
  • First day to crack 70 degrees this year in Korea (73 degrees) so I took a 5 mile walk this afternoon and decided to do a shorter Jillian workout that was more arm than leg focused today- Kickbox Fast Fix Level 1: Upper Body. I really worked up a sweat in just 20 minutes with this one!
  • I'm totally with you, belle :) I find the Banish Fat Boost Metabolism one is a little harder to keep up with because my endurance isn't the best, but I still enjoy it. And just last week I tried 6w6p Level 1 for the first time. It was great! I haven't even tried the 2nd level yet, but that DVD has the potential to be one…
  • I'll chime in- No More Trouble Zones is actually my favorite Jillian Michaels DVD! It actually doesn't seem too long, and it's chaptered if you don't have time to do all the circuits. I'll let you know how I like the Yoga Meltdown once I try it (over the next couple days) :)
  • I didn't know there was such a thing as too much stretching hahaha. Yoga Meltdown is one of the Jillian workouts I actually haven't tried yet, but I do enjoy yoga, so I'm hoping it's a good addition to the bunch :) Okay just got home for the evening (9:40 here in Korea) so once I change into my workout gear it's time for a…
  • Ah I should have added, I'm going to do Yoga Meltdown at least 1 day each week as my Jillian video. I've actually gotten into a habit of doing at least something active each day (even if it's just yoga or a slow, long walk around town.) This is kind of how I do "rest days"- no weights and nothing really sweat-producing,…
  • Time for my 1-day Post-Whole 30 update hehe. I didn't go crazy like order a large pizza or anything yesterday, but I definitely ate some non-Whole30 compliant foods. No issues with my stomach as of yet, but it was next to impossible to wake up this morning! I believe it was a combination of knowing it wasn't critical to…
  • It's May 1st on this side of the world already- woo!!! It's actually like Labor Day here, so I have the day off and I'm meeting friends for a hike today. (also, yay for healthy activities with friends.) We're having a potluck style picnic, so I know there's going to be rice from sushi, and I don't know what else other than…
  • I'm laughing at how many people have mentioned sweet potatoes. I'm going through them like CRAZY! In fact, I went to a different grocery store than usual yesterday because I feel like the guy who weighs my sweet potatoes every few days at my local market might start to wonder about me and my sweet potato habits ;)
  • Let us know how your weekend with friends goes! The social aspect has been the toughest part for me. Whenever friends invite me to dinner or something, I find myself saying I already have plans. Or I'll suggest going out for coffee where I get my americano or tea instead of going out to dinner. The whole restaurant thing…
  • I'm doing a Whole30 for the month of April :) I'll add you as a friend! It's my first time, but I'm really pleased with how it's going, so I plan to follow a primal/paleo diet afterward.
  • It's funny- I feel like I'm getting a good head start on cooking on Sunday evenings, but then by like Tuesday the meat is all gone :-O I'm eating sooo much chicken, fish, other meats- it's crazy! I also only have a little convection oven and a gas burner here in Korea, so by the time I come home in the evenings, generally…
  • Last week I had 2 days of really bad sugar cravings late in the week during the afternoon. I just ended up eating a lot those days because I figured if I couldn't have a latte or something similar I should at least eat something else (lots of pistachios lol.) But this week that's better again. I'm sleeping better through…
  • I finally signed up for a Pinterest account right before my Whole30 and I was pinning sooo many recipes from that chowstalker site :-D
  • Good Morning, Day 4! The good news: I haven't had any cravings for sugary foods yet, and I don't right now. The bad: The thought of eating a proteiny/fatty/vegetable-based breakfast is making me feel sick to my stomach. I just don't know what to eat now, but I don't want to wait 5 hours till I get my lunch break at work. I…
  • Also that Cabbage Goulash looks delicious! Definitely going to incorporate it into next week's meals
