Thank you everyone for being open and honest. I feel like so many of you often. I have a great day, stay within my calories, then blow it with a full on binge of whatever I have. Then feel so much guilt and disgust. I was wondering have any of you tried OA? Do any of you practice abstinence of certain foods?

@pitcherday " They were actually making me feel bad and hopeless. I stayed because it was always beat in my head that the only livable and sustainable way to lose weight is with WW. US News & World Report's best diet for all those years. I read that, and yes, it beat out the other diets, but not by very much, and it…

I love reading of your success! It really does make things more simple. Eating several small meals per day keeps me hungry and frustrated. Love like-minded people!
-
There is another similar thread going I've been watching - I was thinking we need our own support group lol. I am considering dumping WW too for all the reasons mentioned here.
-
Hi bikewest1. You go! I'm trying to gather the courage to cancel WW too.

Since the new SP I have not been able to stay within my daily points once. I am also very hungry. And the whole thing about earning fitpoints baffles me. It seems I earn them like crazy but you're not supposed to use them. I am hungry and left feeling like such a failure because I can't make it through one day. I rarely…

I'm amazed at how many of you are here that are experiencing the same fear and concerns as I have been feeling and thinking. I have heard the same thing said that if you leave you'll gain weight. I think we need a support group for those wanting to leave but are afraid to. lol. It's kind of sick really. I stopped going to…

Thank you so much for your responses! I checked out youtube. I'm so excited to get home from work now!

The bad part about being overweight is not the overweight part, but the being out of control part. I get so many standard dieters who rely on the same tired body of knowledge that gets passed around today ("get three squares a day, watch blood sugar spikes, portion control....yada, yada"); it all vanishes in a sea of…

THESE ARE SO GREAT! I thought I was the only one doing some of these. Taking pictures in the grocery store of the nutrition labels, etc etc. Thanks for sharing these!
-
I love this story! Thank you for sharing. Congrats.
-
Soopatt I love you. You are spot on! I have said this for a long time. I live where people are snobby about their food yet the line at my nearest McDonalds is always full, inside & out.
-
Ok, thanks @arguablysam. I have a question so I understand this right - I have a four hour window in which I have my meal. However, I make sure to complete my eating in 1 hour? Isn't this fasting for 23 hours?
-
Ok, I made it through day 1 yesterday. It was actually easy. I feel great. Packed and planned my food for today while at work. Feeling optimistic.
-
Thanks a bunch arguablysam. I really appreciate you responding. You got that all 100% correct too. Nailed it for me. BTW, big congrats on your success. I love your style of writing and your perspective. So appreciate you being willing to comment back to me. I'll check back in tomorrow.

Thanks! How do I start a thread?

Sandy 227 5 ft 6 in struggle with my weight for a LONG time, mostly because of my own brain telling me I can't do it. goal weight: 150 lbs time OMAD: 11:00 am - 3:00pm Today is my start date Thank you for having me here. This seems so simple. I have thought of doing this for years but instead listen to other "experts" say…

Christine, I so understand every word. You CAN lose weight and keep it off. I started out needing to lose 180 lbs. I have 65 more to go. I never felt particularly motivated. I envy people with stories that they woke up one day and just decided to do it. I never did that. I never really considered surgery because I know…

I'm so happy for you. I have 18 lbs to go to say the same and feeling a little discouraged lately as to wondering can I really do this?? Can counting calories really get me there? Yes, please share more about what you are doing. Congrats to you.
-
You got a cheerleader here! You really can do it. I did.
-
Add me. I was 331 lbs, now 225 lbs.
-
Just think, a year from now how much better you'll be. REALLY! You can do it!!! I really believe you will.
-
Add me too! I started at 331 lbs and I'm now 225. Would love to support each other!
-
Hi Tina, hugs to you. I know exactly what you mean. I had 170-180 to lose when I was at my highest. I am down to needing to lose 75 more. I am no expert about all this for sure. All I know is that I didn't give up. I struggle everyday. I just started. There was no big "ah ha" moment, I've not been particularly gung-ho a…

Please count me in. Thank you so much!

Congratulations! I had decided that my mantra for 2015 is TRACK TRACK TRACK. I realize that is the key for my success. You're an inspiration, thanks for sharing.

If I sat around waiting until I was "ready" I'd be at least 400 lbs by now. I was 331 at my heaviest. I didn't feel particularly excited to start dieting or motivated at all. One of the hardest things to do is just start. I am down 105 lbs. and I have 80 more to go. I know you can do it. Just start something. Take a walk,…
-
You can so do this I know!!! I'm down 105 lbs. with 80 more to lose. Add me if you'd like, I would love to support and have friends for support too!
-
Hi Mary! I totally understand how you feel. I was 331 lbs at my highest. Extremely discouraged and somewhat depressed. I didn't have motivation either. What I realized is that I would get to 400 lbs. and more if I sat around waiting on motivation to show up. I have lost 105 lbs. People ask me if it's been hard. I tell them…

HELLO! I'm almost 51 and would love friends too. I have lost about 105 lbs and have 80 to go. I have gained a love of exercise. I have seen the difference it makes in my health. Feel free to add me if you'd like. Best wishes!
