I always go for a heavy veggie base when I want to eat a BIG meal. And potatoes. Potatoes are wonderful filler. So usually a veggie(something like broccoli or asparagus with some lemon juice), a serving of potatoes(steamed or boiled and I just salt and pepper them or will brown them in some kind of fat), and a meat/protein…

Agave is incredibly processed. Not at all natural. Might want to start steering clear of that. I think your best bet might be trying to find something organic, though.

...because vegans don't just eat nuts? What? Where are you even coming up with this stuff? I'm not even a vegetarian and have read your comments as incredibly confrontational. You come across like your entire family was killed by a pack of radical vegans and now you're on the warpath to destroy veganism from existence. A…

They're relatively calorie dense but imo, one of those "perfect foods." I would eat an avocado a day if I could afford it. They're great as a snack, really good just with salt, pepper, lime/lemon juice, or even balsamic glaze/vinegar if you wanna avoid adding extra calories. My main comment would just be to make sure…

^ If you're within your healthy BMI and your thighs still touch, chances are they will always touch unless you become unhealthily small. I have friends who are quite slender and their thighs still touch. It's based on your bone structure.

Pretty much just going to echo what the others have said, and weigh yourself less if you need to. Work out to feel better and be more fit - try to stop seeing it as an ends to a means to losing weight, because that's a really good way to make you utterly hate it. Take your measurements this week, and start doing it every…

I can understand why one might think it's not motivating, but really puzzled on how it's childish...?

While on the website itself it's easier to find entries that have grams or mls...I've noticed on the app it's a pain in the butt to often find the official entries. Searching is WAY more fickle.

Have you just recently started walking? Are you swinging your arms? This happened to me the first time I started walking again and being a spazz, I was freaking out wondering if I was about to have a heart attack. Hold your bend your arms at your sides(ie the power walk postion) and see if that helps. When you swing your…

Imo, anyone who has food issues should really try to completely disassociate food from working out. Exercise and movement is for feeling better and more fit. I work out at least 4 days a week, even if I've eaten less than ideally for that week, because I always feel physically better as a result, and it helps my mood…

Are those extremely intensive programs? If someone isn't used to physically pushing themselves and throws themselves into a very intense program, that's a recipe for being miserable and feeling exhausted. Working out should be invigorating. Ease up and do some modified versions of those workouts, or you might want to try…

Huh! Interesting. I misunderstood your original post. I'll definitely have to look that up.

As someone in recovery from BED, I can say that I never, ever considered it a food addiction. The behaviour was an addictive process for me, and I definitely have certain types of food that I am more vulnerable to binging on, but I would never, ever say I have a food addiction. If anything, an eating addiction is more…

OP, are you actually weighing all of your food?
-
You haven't given a scientific reply either.

Your mom's mistake was seeing a nutritionist, not a registered dietician. :<

If you're 100% spot on with your food tracking(weighing food, know actual caloric values of what you're eating) and are eating at a deficit, it's water. New workout routines can commonly cause your body to retain water. I also would definitely not eat any less than 1200 calories a day if you're working out that much, or…

The difference between that link and the Mayo Clinic one is one is based on actual medical research and one is not. Mayo Clinic. -Doctor.- This line in particular makes my blood boil: "Though doctors can recommend that there is nothing wrong with drinking water during meals. As per yogic/ ayurvedic philosophy you must…

Hah...yep. I feel your pain. I had to go back to therapy and really learn to deal with stuff. I've found meditating has helped me IMMENSELY. I also do stuff that's loosely based off cognitive behavioural therapy - just stuff I've found that helps in a lot of self-help books that are aimed at eating disorders.

I got very emotional the second month because I was no longer using binge eating and compulsive eating as a coping mechanism. That definitely took some adjustment. I'm still struggling to learn to deal with my emotions in a more healthy manner, but I've definitely adjusted from the constant mood swings that plagued me for…

You're awesome, lady! I'm so glad to be friends with you on here while we do this together. :)

That can't be real. A car? Really?

If you're 270 and only eat one meal a day...I'm guessing you're either a compulsive overeater or a binge eater. Either one of them can sabotage someone's food intake, because usually one of the other means we're eating some really calorie-dense foods either out of comfort or simply because we just mindlessly eat whatever…

How many calories are you set at to eat? Ie, is it higher up at about 2 lbs or already set at .5?

Could care less what they look like. It's 100% what their outlook and mindset is.

Obvious troll is obvious. Just ignore them.

Is the counselor you're seeing someone who deals with eating disorders? A lot of what you're saying very much sounds like body dysmorphia. Counselors who deal with EDs specialize in such issues. Like someone else said, you're in a healthy weight range. Hating yourself is just making you miserable :( It might be time to try…

Just log, but not shamelessly. Logging is for accountability. Bad days happen, but we come back, and we log. We don't pretend it didn't happen - because pretending the days we don't do everything ideally doesn't help us actually learn to cope with them and be able to move on from them in a healthy way. It's okay! Just get…
