This nutritionist may be a PA but unless he additionally has a 4 year education in a dietetics BS and took the national test to become a registered dietitian, he's not a dietitian. It concerns me that he's suggesting vegan diets to people unless they REALLY want to. Going from a really unhealthy diet to a sudden…

Yeah this is a definitely a troll. I'll play along, because I'm bored and why not: OP. Calorie surplus is why you're gaining on the shakes. You need to count up the calories from what you're putting in the shakes and figure out how many you're consuming at the end of the day, because you're clearly eating too much of what…
-
..OP said she was bulimic and it turned into binge eating. I would really advise fully reading a thread before accusing someone of something like that.
-
OP, are you currently in therapy for your ED?
-
I'll agree with that much, Mr_Knight. And Deg - that's great that for you things are so easy, and I mean that seriously, NOT being sarcastic. For a lot of people simply stopping by looking at their calorie limit for the day is not something they can do without learning how to. OP clearly wants advice on what she can do to…

That's great for you, but for other people it's not as easy as simply stopping, which OP clearly stated in her post. If she were able to simply stop when she uses up her calories for the day, she wouldn't have to be making a post, now would she? Some people do not know how to stop eating when they have fulfilled their…

Exactly. Simply saying "just stop" isn't helpful. How about actually giving suggestions HOW to stop? Food compulsions are just that, and acting like a compulsion is something we just instantly know how to deal with is simplifying a problem. It's a learning process that takes time. Why not offer some of the ways YOU dealt…

Out of curiosity, how many calories are you eating during the day? Do you eat PB during the daytime at all or is it something you're trying to swear yourself off of simply because it's calorie dense? Lot of really judgey, unhelpful comments in this thread for some reason. :|

I totally did not. :/ It's weird because apparently hibachi sauce usually has butter in it, but I have no idea what the actual base sauce is. I think it might be a soy+butter+sesame seed oil mix, but every place is obviously different. I tend to just overguestimate. :/ The place I get it from is a local japanese…

I've half a mind to friend you based on a Liz Lemon quote. Can't tell if my priorities are spot on or not. Also...those ice cream ball things holy crap I need to make them.

Plenty of other ways to get cardio that aren't even in the gym. Swimming, hiking(my favorite), playing sports of some kind. Find something that you enjoy or it's going to feel like a chore. Even just taking a brisk walk outside instead of the treadmill is much more enjoyable.

Let me know how you like it! They're fantastic with hot sauce!

Just want to add in, great job on slowly raising up your calories and seeing you can maintain there, OP. I would really suggest talking to your OBGYN about the period thing, however. Your doctor not being more concerned about that in and of itself is very concerning.

Mindfulness is a huge part of it. Learning to eat mindfully and keep your brain focused on food when you eat helps A LOT. Turn the TV off, turn some nice music on, and savor every bite of your meal. Don't just shove food in your mouth and suddenly realize you felt like you ate nothing because you were distracted by…

Not a problem, Amber! I'm glad you're upping your calories a bit, I think you'll find it makes it MUCH easier. I'd also suggest If you get a little wrapped up in the numbers on the scale but know you're eating accurately, I would suggest trying to make sure you don't weigh yourself more than once a week, as well. I'm far…

Just as a note, OP, 9 lbs in 4-5 weeks is really good. Please don't set your goals to be something that are unsustainable, because it'll only end up in you feeling inadequate and disappointed. You lost 9 pounds! That's awesome! 1200 for someone who weighs 185 is honestly probably going to be pretty difficult. I know people…

Anyone who wants to take away my egg yolks can pry the from my cold, dead hands.

As a note, 5' and 108 is perfectly healthy. Those additional 4 inches make a HUGE difference and to be 108 and 5'4 means you are just on the border of being underweight, where at 5' you're still at a healthy BMI. Like someone else already asked, OP, why the desire to be 110 specifically?
-
You probably want to see a doctor about this. How many calories have you been eating?
-
If this is your third time around, it clearly isn't something that is realistic for you long-term. Wouldn't it be a better idea to just adjust your mindset, try calorie counting and still eat foods you love within your calorie goals?

Binge eating tends to happen for a couple reasons, either emotional/mental ones or because we're trying too hard to adhere to a "healthy diet" and depriving ourselves of "bad" foods we truly enjoy eating. I don't really see how at least trying to figure out why you binged is a good idea. Putting it in the back of your head…
-
Imo just try to accept it happened and move on. Binges will happen occasionally. They're a severe food habit that are not easily broken. Accept they'll happen again and try to stop making them some horrible, ominous thing that you fear. Try to look at them as something that you want to happen less and less until they…

Whole chickens are my slow cooking go-to, simply because they last me a few days. I do a little prep work just for some extra flavor, but it's really not necessary and you can easily do it just before you put it in. I like to coat the bird with a mix of spices of choice(anything from a curry mix, to Old Bay, or a blend of…

I'm so confused. Are you saying this is stuff that you thought people would say to you?
-
Fair enough! Amusingly any of the RD's I've been exposed to are the opposite. I think I just know who are like, actively aggressive to the word nutritionist and crazy gung ho about not using it haha :P

Hey there. So...I know how you feel. I'm in recovery right now from binge eating disorder and a former bulimic...in my case the bulimia never even helped me get the weight off. I have a couple of big suggestions for you, the first being therapy. EDs are nasty stuff. I've been dealing with my disordered eating for over a…

It varies. I definitely love the 'high' I get when I push myself to go faster, but doing it every day can be kind of exhausting. Given I'm still very heavy, my body is not quite able to keep up with where my mind wants to be. I go shorter when I go faster, but if I take a slower walk, I'll usually walk for 45-60m.

Any nuts in general are good, too. They're pretty calorie dense across the board. Also, cooking fats are extremely calorie dense, usually ranging from 100-120 calories per tablespoon. It might be worth using some full-fat yogurts to smoothies, if you're a smoothie eater. Can easily add in an extra 100+ calories per…

That's AMAZING. Also, your eyebrows are on FLEEK. Damn!

Just beware in the future! Never trust anyone who calls themselves a nutritionist. Certified dietitian or bust. ;)
