Funny but I just came from the gym. When I go to the gym I wanted to do inverted sit up on a bench that couples with free weights. Someone had left a weight bar above the bench. No one was around so I proceeded to remove the bar. Then a guy comes up to me and tells me he's doing a circuit and is using that bench. I told…

I'm a runner who's had shin splints before. Currently I'm pain free. There are a few YouTube videos which talk about exercises to heal shin splints. I've tried them and they do work! The bottom line is you have to strengthen, stretch and exercise your shins to prevent injury. I stretch my feet when I'm siting down and…

With P90x you have to purchase some equipment. Not much: a pull up bar, some hand weights, exercise bands (kind of like big rubber bands) and a yoga mat. I found that by joining a gym I could benefit from using their equipment and having people around me to motive me in working out. Plus I found out the gym I belong to has…

Hi, I tried P90x for 1 week. You have to be highly motivated and very disciplined to accomplish the training. If you looked at the training program, part of the training is your diet. I have read several folks remark the diet is just as hard as the actual exercises. I assume insanity is the same. I would recommend you find…

Your calorie goal is predicated on the amount of calories you consume. You work out and you burn an additional 700 calories. When you plug in you workout…

I'm training for a half marathon and started drinking protein shakes before and after my runs. Now, even when I don't run I have a glass of the protein shake in the morning for breakfast. It has so many nutrients that I might miss during the day's meals.

Hi, First set a specific day and time to weigh in and keep track of it. I have a scale in my bathroom and weigh myself every Friday morning after my shower. Second, keep up with your training program. You seem to be doing great! If you have lost 5 inches all over you should be toning up. Third, you may want to reduce the…

You have to enjoy what feels right to you and what satisfies you. I have always liked to drink ice cold products. I grew up that way. Now when I run I crave ice cold water after my runs. Room temperature water does not satisfy me. My sons on the other hand, who have played sports all their lives, prefer room temperature…

I agree with the notion that no one is forcing anyone to eat at any of these restaurants. And as for portion control, I'm all against that. I prefer going to a restaurant where the meals are extravagant. I've been to five star restaurants where more plate is shown then food.
