  • I consider "fasting" as any day I don't have ice cream.
  • Easy day... - Click on the "APPS" tab on top - Scroll down until you find "Runkeeper" - Click "READ MORE" - Click "CONNECT ACCOUNTS" - Log into your RK account RK/MFP should now be linked I've had intermittant success with RK updating to MFP...about 75% of my runs or walks have been transferring over.
  • I am asked frequently if I'm on some type of special diet (paleo, primal, low-fat, low-carb, etc.) To a person they are visibly disappointed when I tell them I count calories daily and subscribe to a balanced diet - to include treats - while exercising more. This approach has taken me from ~200 lbs down to 155@10% BF and…
  • Running between 9-10 miles at an 8 min pace gets me a 1000-ish
  • ON Vanilla Ice Cream at home because it mixes well in the morning shake. ON Extreme Milk Chocolate at work because it mixes well with plain old water. Thinking of giving Trutein a try when these are gone.
  • I'm not sure if I have a tiger problem in my area, but I'm really too lazy to look into it. However, I do believe I am a responsible parent...so how can I afford to NOT have a tiger rock. I'll take two.
  • #3 is no joke! 19 days without lifting over Christmas break and I've yet to regain my pre-vacation bench reps. I also went into a cut at the end of January, but was able to reach pre-vacation parity on other lifts (squats, deads, oh press, rows) before doing so. Will now need to wait until fall/winter bulk before getting…
  • NOTHING IS BAD ABOUT ICE CREAM! If you can fit it into your calorie/macro/micro plan then there is no reason it can't be enjoyed daily (check my diary). Granted, I lift 3/week, run 2+/week, and take walks daily - but I do this so I can have that calorie space to enjoy my nightly Blue Bell Ice Cream and a glass of wine.…
  • Is this on NETFLIX streaming? Just did a search and nada, but I have poor phone connection here in the office.
  • Highlander 2 destroyed all of the joy that was the first movie
  • Awesome! I follow a similar approach to dieting. Not much fast food though, and I eat plenty of fruit/veggies, but also nightly ice cream (or some form of treat) and a glass of wine. I get my lipids checked yearly. Next check is August, but last year was Total - 186 HDL - 89 LDL - 86
  • BSG. It started so great before descending into "What the..." territory.
  • MFP really starts to shine when you use it as a planning tool. With few exceptions, I plan my entire next day's meals the night before. There are always some adjustments as the day progresses, but it keeps me honest and on target.
  • Open to the public. I like to show that it is entirely possible to maintain a healthy weight (155 @ 5'10") and lifestyle without extreme measures and fad diets while enjoying food (and wine).
  • I'm trying to make my way through the entire Blue Bell line-up. Currently on Century Sundae with Lemon Bliss, Caramel Turtle Cheesecake, Italian Cream Cake, Red Velvet Cake, Southern Blackberry Cobbler, Buttered Pecan, The Great Divide, and Dessert Trio all in the rear view mirror. It's tough work and I have a long road…
  • Good post - and the comments from the folks who didn't read the blog are especially hilarious. Reminds me of another blog I read that regularly includes links to a satire news site (similar to The Onion, but military-centric). Every time they put in such a link there will be a large number of genuinely outraged comments…
  • Nope. I'm 7/7 easy - #2 and #4 due in large part to MFP.
  • I'm struggling for an RPG and am open for suggestions. I putzed around on DDO F2P for a bit, but it didn't grab me. I downloaded SWTOR F2P this past weekend and that has been enjoyable, but getting tired of the reminders of what I would be receiving if I would subscribe - which isn't going to happen. Thinking of purchasing…
  • <-- eats chocolate daily, drinks wine daily, loses weight steadily. Secret: factor everything into daily calorie plan. MFP is a great logging tool. It's an even better planning tool. I map out the next day every evening. Dinner is often the only variable, because we change that on the fly quite a bit.
  • You have a few options - under the exercise tab click on cardiovascular and add whatever you think is appropriate: strength training, calisthenics, gardening - depending on the level of effort you feel you exerted. Whenever I do yardwork (LOTS of leaf raking in the fall) I halve the time I spend working and log it as…
  • The Governor quit caring about Woodbury after Penny was killed (put down?) and he's been out for vengeance since. Also, he felt betrayed by the Woodbury folks when they refused to help him further with his revenge. I think you're right about the terrorist tactics to get back at the prison gang.
  • Not quite sure how I feel about that finale. - loss of Andrea isn't that bad - her character arc played out well over the three seasons. She could have saved herself on three separate occassions (twice by killing the governor / once by staying at the prison). Although I'm not sure how badass Andrea couldn't take out one…
  • I used to go to Zed's Ethiopian Cuisine in Georgetown fairly often. Fantastic food - was never disappointed. Highly recommended for anyone in the DC area.
  • You can check my diary - I don't think you'll find many nights that don't include a beverage (wine or beer). The trick is that I factor the calories into my plan while ensuring I meet my protein/fat goals for the day. This approach worked for my initial weight loss, my recent bulk phase (timed well with fall/winter…

  • Depends on what is considered a "main" character - the spoilers didn't say it would necessarily be part of the prison gang. Either the Governor or Milton could be considered a "main" character. If it is going to be one of the gang, then I suspect Herschel or Beth.
  • Concur with "yesterday." I wish I did it from day one of weight loss - feel like I'm playing catch-up now.
  • I thought the episode was well fairly well done. However, I think they could have gotten a lot more emotional buy-in for Merle if they had tried fleshing out his character in the previous episodes and then killing him off in this one. As it stands, I wasn't sorry at all to see the character go and I think the writers…
  • ...thought this might be a thread about garden slugs...
  • Thanks, SS. As usual, your posts and linked articles help validate my approach to diet, fitness, and overall well-being - keep it simple, all things in moderation, and use common sense.
  • (Sorry - just saw this - been on vacation.) Not really. I need to keep the basic weekly schedule - 3 x lifting / 2 x cardio for one hour each. I think I'll stick with whole body routines. I'm settling out on doing All Pro's routine for one day, a dumbbell / cable day, and a calisthenic day (push-ups, pull-ups, sit-ups,…
