I have had a fitbit One for about 2 weeks now. I cannot go without it! I love it!! I run for exercise, so I tested it along with my HRM. They came out within 50 calories of each other. Fitbit being 50 cals low. So I feel its fairly accurate. Now I don't have to record exercise, I just let fitbit do its thing!

I had this in one of my feet a few years ago. Stretching calves in morning (before getting out of bed) and throughout the day helped a lot. Massage calves and arches. Ice. The thing that finally helped take care of what was left after all that was inserts with good arch support. I had to get a little more expensive one at…

I agree totally with this post. I am trying to eat healthy, but also realistic. I am not calling this a diet, but a lifestyle change. I don't police anyone on what they eat. Most don't listen anyway and aren't ready to make an overall change. They just want the quick fix. I figure at some point they will realize it just…

Great post. I like the idea here that you have to be realistic to be able to keep it up. That has been my goal all along. I don't even call it a cheat if I am overall eating fairly healthy and decide to have a dessert. As for pasta, that is one thing I haven't had too much of while I have been trying to get to my goal…

This is actually something I have been working on. When I first started I could only do one regular and maybe 10 knee pushups. I am up to 3 sets of 15 knee pushups, three times a week. When I get to 3 sets of 20 each of the knee pushups, I will start the same routine with regular pushups until I will hopefully eventually…

Hi All, I am 44 (almost 45) years old. I have two teenage kids. I finally got myself back to running and figured out even if I work out, I also have to watch calories. Through MFP I found out I had no clue the calories in some of the things I would eat. I can never eat at Meatheads again! lol So counting calories, running…

I think I will try the pumpkin puree too. Did you add anything else, or just pumpkin and oats?

I made these, added a very few chocolate chps. They were ok, not huge flavor. I almost wonder if a touch of salt would bring out the banana flavor even more. My batch made 8, so they were only around 65 calories a cookie which is great! Then I added a little almond butter on top and that made them amazing!!

Congrats to you! I have had Chronic Autoimmune Urticaria and have Dermographism. So I feel your pain! It definitely effected my quality of life for awhile. I had the chronic hive thing two different times, lasting about a year or so both times. At one point I was on two different antihistamines one in the morning, and one…

I am always wondering..if you increase slowly, how long do you wait before the next increase? How long before you can say, ok no real weight gain at this amount, then increase?

I was reading about these noodles recently and wanted to try them. Good to know you can get them at Whole Foods. I was planning to go there today, so I will grab some. I think I will opt for the tofu kind, or maybe get some of each and test them out. Has anyone tried them with plain old spaghetti sauce?

I made these today. I used one egg and then 3 tbsp of egg white (equals a second large egg). I also threw in 1 tbsp of chai seeds. Loved them. I think they would be even better with a riper banana. I then made them for husband as is, two eggs and one banana. Half way through I threw in a little cinnamon and a dash of…

I find it funny how many people replied telling the OP to drink almond milk when he said he was allergic to nuts and couldn't drink the nut based milks. Sigh.. I drink the unsweetened vanilla and that seems ok. I don't love soy milk, my favorite s probably the rice milk, but I think its higher calories and not as good for…

I have read many good things about coconut oil. I do cook with it, but if I have too much it gives me acid reflux. Does anyone else have this problem?

I am interested in these for my joints. Does anyone know about how much per day you should have to get the benefits?

After a certain point , if the baby cannot come out vaginally (maybe it was breach or whatever the issue may be) it does go into stress and can die without a C section. Why do you think babies and mothers died from child birth in the old days? I don't know how they can care for a baby the way they live. Can you imagine…

I did this to myself last week. I did 40 squats and 40 lunges. Never having done them before, I killed myself! I have been running for months, so I thought it was ok. It was not! lol The first day as others suggested, I walked, which helped. I was still very sore day after that. I decided to do just 10 of each exercise and…

omg, I have the same phone as you and I agree ! I need a new phone. My battery also is horrible! My plan turns over in December and I will definitely be getting a new one. I think I am staying with the Droid platform, but will follow this thread to see what people recommend.

I think I read somewhere that you gain the weight back when you stop taking them. Who wants to take some pill forever? Especially one that hasn't been out long enough to know what it will do to you long term.

Thanks for this post! I am down to my last 10 lbs. The scale seems to be moving much slower than before, but I feel great. I am shrinking in size and lifting heavier. So I think instead of my daily weigh ins, I might switch to a monthly or every two months. Great motivating post!!

I can't do very many, but I want to be able to do them! I can only do about 5 pushups on my toes. I read somewhere they are a perfect exercise because they work arms, legs, and core. I figure start with what you can do and work your way up.

1500 calories a day seems kinda low for a guy. You can change the amounts of protein or whatever you are tracking to something that fits you.

I think if you have a fever, you shouldn't be working out. If you just have a cold, I would work out through it, maybe lighten up a little
-
I want to try this
-
I agree if you want to tone up, lift weights. Btw, I see people say "lift heavy" often. What exactly does that mean? I am thinking you mean lift heavier less reps as opposed to lighter and more reps correct?
-
Great story! Very motivational!

I have been told...with cardio you burn calories or fat while doing the cardio. When you lift weights and build muscle, the muscle burns more calories or fat all day long.

I just discovered Quinoa. My first try on it cooking in water, it was blah. I saw a comment here about cooking it in chicken broth. So I tried that, then added spicy fresh cut salsa after it was cooked. It is my husband and I's new favorite side. I keep craving it now! We have already had it as a side twice this week haha.…

I very often go for Turkey sandwiches. Turkey seems to be the lowest calorie lunch meat. Another thing I eat a lot is air popped popcorn. It's practically zero calories for a huge amount. I add a little butter spray and salt. Raw veggies are good too.

You look great and love the new haircut! Can I ask, what was your calorie goal around before you started weight training?
