Yes, I was talking about Shakeology. Not the workouts.

Don't forget sold by beachbody, or food babe.

Just curious-what is this medicine doing to help you learn how to change your diet/eating habits? I'm glad people are finding some modest success, but you have to stop the med eventually, right? Then what happens?

The two that promote/wrote/whatever they do with it, are out of their minds. She regularly posts videos on youtube ridiculing celebrities who may have gained weight. To them, the only acceptable diet is raw vegan. They have some very disordered thinking going on, those two.

Those before and after pics are not accurate. People on this forum have been approached for their before and after pics for products they haven't taken, and there are years in between the pics. It's not honest, it's marketing. The products don't work, save your money. Pregnancy isn't going to help with the weight loss…

I've been taking biotin for two months now-no weight gain.

When I was in high school (20 yrs ago) I was allowed to opt out of the dissection as long as I observed. My lab partner was the one who pithed the frog, cut, etc. My teacher even let me bring one of the live frogs home with me afterwards. (not a vegan by the way, just felt strongly against dissection.). I am happy to hear…

Hold up. Didn't you JUST say that watching the markets wanted you to sell everything, so that's why you watch Dr Oz?
-
Do you have to watch TV? Could you read a book? Listen to music? It's scary how many specifics you can site that you'd learned by watching him. You say you "would never believe anything anyone just says", yet look at all the stuff throughout this thread that you have believed he has taught you... Considering what he has…

No. I want to be fit. I want my glutes to be strong and propel me running. I want my arms and shoulders to pull my body while I swim laps. I want to feel my abs contract while I'm doing a flip turn, and my back to hold me up tall and proud. Love the body you have. Someday you won't have it, because..well...aging. And then…

I bet you could get Dr Oz to endorse it.

I have a bad habit of not stretching after a workout, and I've ended up in PT three different times because of it. I apparently do have a limited ROM because of my avoidance of stretching that has led to injury because of how it has impaired my movement (ie. running and ankle/hip immobility). So I think stretching is…

How about books written by reputable sources, with empirically based evidence, rather than written by Dr Oz and company. And colleges absolutely teach about healthy eating, if you take nutrition coursework. Again-empirically based info. SCIENCE. It's great. Something I'm sure Dr Oz used to believe in. And I think the woman…

Is this a homeopathic or integrated medicine doctor? I can't think of any others that would actually recommend this. Like it or not, this isn't the forum that's going to agree with poor advice like detoxes. Also....You said this in your first post... "There were a couple she recommended, all of which you can still eat on…

I <3 this post.

You should've stopped right there. This is a cycle that never ends....because people still buy into the diet industries' sales pitches about things such as detoxes and toxins. You've never heard a doctor recommend a juice cleanse because there is no scientific evidence supporting their efficacy.
-
When did meat become a toxic chemical? What other toxic chemicals are you referring to? And how to drinking veggies in juice help this process? Juicing takes away a lot of the fiber than is helpful for the best "detox" I know-pooping.

My point was that the OP asked about the nutritional benefits of milk and its' substitutes. It does not appear that ethics is part of her equation.
-
So by your logic, we should hook up women and milk them.

My goals are to get my 500 time under 7 minutes, (my best when I was "in my prime" was 6:15), and to swim 2 miles non-stop. My triathalon friends threw out the idea of my doing the swim leg of a relay tri, but I don't own a wet suit and have never open-water swam before, so I'm not sure if that's in the cards this year,…

Ugh, back in the pool last night after two weeks of no swimming (but did exercise regularly doing other things). MAN, was that tough. I didn't think I'd struggle so much to get my 2000 yards in after just a 2 wk break. I solemnly swear, to my poor body, that I will not let it go that long again!

If I'm trying to behave but still have dessert, I like the Fiber One desserts. Their cookies are good for 150 calories, or their brownie bars are 90 calories. I like the cheesecake bars, but let's be honest-it's nothing like cheesecake.

Why?

If you have diabetes, I would think it's even more important to adhere to a healthy diet rather than a restrictive one. I'm not diabetic, but wouldn't that cause problems with your blood sugar? Might also have played into why you gorged on unhealthy foods. Of course, anyone who's restricting themselves like that would eat…

Fitness blender sometimes will have their free workouts in a printable format, so you can take it with you. I also just discovered darebee.com, which has printable workouts that are free. All you need is a stop watch.

I'm pretty sure true HIIT workouts aren't intended to be done for that long or that frequently. Going balls out for 40-60 seconds followed by 15-20 seconds of moderate rest should wear you out, which is why it's marketed as more efficient than steady state cardio. But I agree with the others, if you're looking for body…

Kettlebells are great, but you need to do them correctly or you risk injury. That means using the correct weight, with proper form. Look for someone with an RKC certification for some instruction, or if that's not available or in your price range, read up on it or research it. Look for info from Pavel Tsatsouline, Lauren…

Caution on the flax seeds! Some people are really sensitive to these. I have horrible experiences with flax seeds-I ate them in instant oatmeal and within an hour or two I was on the toilet, vomitting and....excretions of the violent nature on the other end as well. Happened several times before I put two and two…

I was wondering why you'd cut out the dairy, since that is a source of protein. Then I saw the bloating comment, but I'm guessing if you're worried about lactose intolerance you'd check in with your doctor? Seems it'd be a shame to let go of the yogurt. :-)
