  • Yeah, that's pretty much what I've been doing, not really intentionally, but it's been a day to day process trying to figure out what'll be enough for the day I'm definitely feeling better overall, so there's that..just hoping I don't suddenly gain a lot of weight :(
  • This topic has been around forever it seems, hope someone can answer my question. I just signed up for a trial version of WW to input what I eat and track on MFP to see where it put me in "point values" - I'd most definitely be way over, though I guess with Activity + those 49 Plus Points, I'd be in the right range. I'm…
  • I LOVE Insanity, lol..my only gripe with it used to be how much my feet hurt, but they don't any more..I love Shaun T as the workout instructor, I love the music, love the workouts..definitely not something I could do if I really didn't want to..it's really been my savior in sticking to a workout regimin. And yeah,…
  • purplevik - I've been doing Yoga, too, just to give my body a break from all the impact and stretch it out..LOVE it. I definitely don't plan on giving up..too close to the Summer for that! ncates00 - I try not to care much about what the scale says, but I know at some point, the weight will have to start dropping, and I'm…
  • okay, thank you! I guess I never thought I'd have the problem of eating too LITTLE, lol..I don't usually have a problem with energy, but everyone I'm talking to is definitely suggesting to up the calorie intake, so I'll give it a go :) just in time for Max Insanity in 1.5wks, lol
  • I COMPLTELY disagree, lol - I've gotten stronger. I don't do pushups on my knees anymore (and that's just from the past 3.5wks), I can do different types of pushups I never could before, my legs are definitely stronger, my calves are stronger, my feet never hurt during workouts anymore..there's A LOT more going on than…
  • Yea, I found that out after the fact (when I was reading about how you can sign up to be a BB coach to get a 25% discount off Shakeology), but the FBook group has been helpful thus far and he definitely seems passionate about helping everyone out. As long as he's not taking my money or forcing products down my throat,…
  • @ACG - thanks for posting! I was just doing a ton of research today on Shakeology and similar products. Funny enough, I just asked a fitness friend of mine if he could recommend a protein powder, and he recommend Optimum Nutrion's too, lol Shakeology IS wayy too expensive, whether it's worth the money or not. I only work…
  • I've actually wanted to start to jump rope consistently - we've done it a few times in kickboxing.. we'll jump rope for about a minute, then do a workout on the back, and keep switching back and forth. It's a quick way to get your heart rate up. I always feel it in my legs, obviously, but the faster I try to spin it, the…
  • thanks so much everyone! I went to a podiatrist a couple of years ago & was about to have the custom inserts made, but it was pricey and at the time, figured I could do without. Are they comfortable for working out though? I was worried they might be too bulgy or something.. otherwise I'd definitely look into it and see if…
  • there's been a few, actually... that I try to remind myself of to stay motivated. - Doing push-ups/planks don't scare me anymore. & every time I can confidently hold up my body, I'm still amazed. - I'm finally working out consistently, at least 5x/week.. though it's only been the past 2 weeks, it feels too good to give up…
  • I'll be honest - this year, I don't have a huge workload, though working, going to school, and being in a relationship really make it hard to juggle things. Like someone else said, I make working out a priority. It's easier for me now because I do kickboxing..so the days/times I go are set. But, you can do the same with…
  • @Naomi - like I said, they're not very accurate, unfortunately.. mostly because your result will vary based on how much water you have in your body. It's suggested to do it 2hrs+ after a meal, and don't do it right after working out. The percent can easily go up and down by 1-2%. But, it's one of the few things you can do…
  • Yeah, I'm not sure if anyone's gonna know enough about how it works. I also know it varies depending on what time of the day you use it.. not the most accurate thing in the world. I suppose I should just record the 31% and start working my way down from there. Just bugged me to think my body hasn't changed at all in the…
  • Ohh, I was looking into buying one of those "fancy" HRMs, but this is probably cheaper! What exactly would you put for your average HR though? I imagine it goes up and down during a workout..would you just input where it stayed at most of the time?
  • Thanks everyone! I'll give some of those ideas the try - I think the main thing is to up my protein. I usually eat breakfast around 9/10AM.. depending on the day.. then I have kickboxing/work, or school. I usually take a piece of fruit to eat with me on the way (about an hour after breakfast) When I work, I don't have a…
  • Yeah, I think that may be my best bet - maybe throw some fruit in it, too. It's just so disappointing when I screw up a bowl of oatmeal haha
  • Hm, yeah, I asked about this a few days ago, and it seemed like most people ate into their exercise calories. I think I may try avoiding it, but using them if I feel hungry.. but not as an excuse to eat more snacks. As everyone said, keep us updated!
  • Those are microwavable, right? I think I'll have to pick some up! I usually eat PB&J when I'm at school late.. it'd be nice to have a more well-rounded meal, lol - thanks for posting!
  • I have the same problem..which is kind of bizarre to me - but I think it comes from the Whole Wheat bread I eat, peanut butter..and um.. that's all I can think of, lol.. the occasional Tuna & Eggs also. It was actually eye opening for me though, because I've been having stomach/digestive issues since February, and I'm…
  • Look into purchasing a hand held body fat percentage meter from Amazon. Something like this: http://www.amazon.com/Omron-HBF-306C-Loss-Monitor-Black/dp/B000FYZMYK/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1288019568&sr=8-1 I've used this a couple of times in school for Health/Bio classes, and they use at my Kickboxing class to evaluate…
  • I've heard that working out first thing in the morning is most efficient in burning calories. But, like everyone is saying, you should choose a time when you will workout at your best. For example, I rather workout in the morning to get it out of the way, but usually my energy lacks & I drag my feet through it.. so I…
  • Loving <3 towards my life, including everything & everyone that makes it what it is... it keeps me driven & positive.
  • Ahh whoops! will do! Thanks everyone! Seems like it's safe to not eat into them completely, as I've doing.. as someone pointed out, consuming less than 1200cal seems a little much...I suppose as time goes on, I'll figure out what works best for my body, but just wanted to see what everyone else's opinion was.
  • You guys are awesome! thanks everyone! I'll have to check them out. Maybe it'll be my Christmas present =P lol @championnfl I'm more interested in the calories burned than anything else. Most of my workouts are without equipment (kickboxing, P90X), so I don't have a way of accurately seeing how many calories I'm burning.…
  • love it :) I definitely want to learn how to cook some healthy meals! It'd be something fun for my boyfriend & I to learn together. Although those Smart Ones are pretty delicious, lol
  • Interesting topic! I only started this week, but here's my plan: Thursdays I'm in school for nearly 12 hours, so I don't have time to workout, but I eat within my calorie allowance. Saturdays I usually spend with my BF's sister's family, and we ALWAYS end up going out to eat, so that's what I'll consider my cheat day,…
  • thanks everyone! @wan2b21 - I've tried P90X a few times.. it was a little discouraging though. But, now since I've been kickboxing, it's definitely a lot easier.. still difficult, obviously, but I have the mental strength to get through it, and much better body control. So I'm excited to really use it this time!
