  • I definitely could use some motivation! Getting through the holidays is always the hardest. CW: 164 GW for Feb: 139 GW:135
  • Like others were saying, you've lost quite a bit in a short amount of time! Remember that most people should only healthily be losing up to 2 pounds a week. I'm not sure how that factors in while nursing, but I think you should be eating a little more unless you're a quite small person. If you're feeling discouraged, maybe…
  • When you up your workouts, you should be upping your water intake too. Chances are that your body isn't used to the calorie deficit and you aren't getting enough water. Dehydration can cause both headaches and dizziness. Try drinking more water/eating high water content foods like watermelon. If both aren't helping after a…
  • Have you considered if there are treatment centers in the northern U.S.? I wish you and your son strength and the best.
  • A couple random things: you may be skinny fat and just apple shaped in general. You could be lacking muscle too. Do you have a very small frame? I was assuming that you're Asian/of Asian descent by your username. Considering this, I've read that BMI doesn't apply the same way to most Asian people since they tend to be of…
  • I'm 5'3" and 144 and my natural waist is about 30.5" right now. Your weight is healthy, but it does sound like you might carry more fat in your torso than me. I also tend to be bottom heavy and carry a lot of muscle. I think it more depends if you're happy with it.
  • I'm pretty far away from wanting kids myself (I'm still in college), but I'm a reliable tracker! No success story of my own, but it took my parents a couple of years to conceive my brother and I. My mom was older and I think it just took a little extra boost, that's why I'm a twin (fertility drugs). But good luck to you! I…

  • What kind of weightlifting you want to do depends on if you have the equipment or not. The two I'm mentioning, I do both. I do HIIT videos on youtube that use my bodyweight. There's a lot of pushups, planks, burpees, etc. That way it kind of does double duty. (I use the fitnessblender ones). If you have access to a gym, or…
  • I just found Fitness blender's videos and I love them! You can use their website (fitnessblender.com) or their youtube channel. Their videos have a difficulty level of 1-5, and they have a bunch of different kinds. On the website, you can search for workouts based on the equipment you have (or in my case, no equipment).…
  • I ate what I wanted, which turned out to be not as much as I thought. I had an extra 1,000 exercise calories that I saved up, so I used that. And now we're back to eating like normal. I might not lose this week, but I certainly didn't gain!
  • After a while, it becomes a lifestyle. But you have to stay motivated to keep on habits, like working out. Don't let a bad day mess up all your days. Just move on and get back on the wagon. Plan ahead and track if you're busy. And for the love of God, stop making excuses!
  • I buy the essentials when I need them like new jeans. And new sports bras. I've lost weight my 36 pounds so far over a year, so everything has gotten use. Sometimes the act of buying something in a smaller size makes me enjoy my new body more and want to continue to change it.
  • First of all, it is difficult to lose weight. I've been plateauing like crazy. If the GYN says it isn't your thyroid, reevaluate what you've been doing so far. It can be easy to eat more than you think. If it is thyroid, it'll probably take a while to get that stabilized. Does your family see you going to work out and…
  • Last holidays I stopped tracking and I gained 10 pounds in December. So this year's plan is to keep tracking, no matter what. Even on my cheat days. I'm also going to work out a lot to hopefully curb some of the damage I do. Mostly, I'm hoping to maintain and just gain some self control. (Just because it's a cheat day…
  • So I asked out a friend of a friend after I thought we hit it off at a party. My friend warns me that he broke up with his ex a couple months ago. But I figure, how bad can it be? We text back and forth before the date and he even suggests that I come visit him that summer during his internship in Seattle (this five months…
  • Unless you have a dietary issue, or you choose to be vegan, there is no reason to not eat dairy! You'll find many MFPers swear by greek yogurt, for instance. Dairy is a good source of protein and calcium. Is this a troll? O.o
  • Oh, I forgot the time I passed out in my bathroom after a shower. My roommate found me unconscious, naked, and with a hole in the wall (from my head). The paramedics put a lovely neckbrace on me before they carried me out on the stretcher in front of a bunch of people (I live on a college campus).
  • I'm a runner. And I tend to get runner's trots, even after a mile or two. But normally I make it in home in time. One day after being a couple miles from home and desperately power walking home between cramps, I didn't make it. I was about three houses down the street from home and pooped my pants. Oops! :blushing:
  • I'm a bit higher, but I'm 20, 5'3" and 149 lbs. I'd like to be around 125-130. Just curious, but how many calories do you eat a day? I'm struggling to find the right number.
  • My bet might be the turbofire. Is it strenuous? My friends would always lose their period during cross country season and gain it back after the season ended (less exercise). I'm not sure if eating more would help, but it might.
  • Definitely eat more. I'd add some lean protein, like nuts, dairy, chicken, eggs, turkey, beans, fish, peanut butter etc. And adding more produce would definitely give you more to eat without adding calories too.
  • I think mostly what everyone else has said is what I would've said. I would stick to some more calorie dense foods though, to help you get more calories in. Peanut butter, meat, eggs, full-fat dairy, beans, nuts and seeds, whey protein powder. Those should all help with adding calories and protein to help you build muscle.…
  • I would also just think about what would give you the most bang for your buck. If you stick to a couple basics that mix and match, you won't need as many clothes either. I would stick to solid colors mostly, pants you can wear multiple times a week, cardigans, a basic coat, or whatever you need. If you're bored,…
  • My best advice would be to stick to calorie dense foods. Dried fruit, nuts, peanut butter, hummus, full fat yogurt and milk, cheese. If you can snack regularly on nuts, or something else with a lot of calories, that could easily help you add calories throughout the day. Also, if you are working out, that's going to be more…
  • I'm 20, and when I was around 170, I was eating around 1600-1700 calories intutively and lost weight slowly. Then around 165 I started eating 1500 and I was doing cardio like a crazy person because of all my activities.
  • I've always enjoyed being historical characters--Elizabeth I, ancient Greek, Amelia Earhart Isis (Egyptian goddess), etc. I've considered being Charlie Chaplin, but I always worry people will mistake the mustache for Hitler! I've been the Black Swan (from the movie) too. This is a shot in the dark, but some redheads that…
  • Some of the easiest sources of fiber are anything plant based, really. If you eat enough fruits and veggies, maybe some whole grains, you should be set on fiber. Fiber One bars are good too.
  • I'm sorry that I don't actually have any useful information about running holsters, but I support what you're asking. It's important to feel safe. Even my dad carries pepper spray on his bike rides, though his may be to prevent goose attacks (he got a concussion the last time).
