  • Hi I am from Winchester. Is anyone interested in forming a team of 8 for Xmas fly the world. I did round the world in August awesome challenge Each calorie burnt is converted to miles and we move our plane around the world. It is great fun and just what is needed for a pre-Xmas exercise burst. Please friend me if…
  • Hi looking for a team so if any team needs a member I am here
  • Great info, it has really cheered me up. When I first satrt running heart rate zooms up and then after about 5-10 m ins I get into the run and it settles down to about 150-160 ( I plod a lot rather than fast running). The main thing is to get out and enjoy it. It is hard on the body at the start but well worth the effort…
  • Hi I am just doing a short course of them as it was on special offer and I am on a pre-Christmas getting into shape. To begin with I was not sure of any effect at all. However I have also upped my gym classes body pump and spin which do lots of cardio but not so much on stomach muscles. This week ( the 2nd week of daily…
  • I would love to join this challenge, I need targets so will set it high 100 miles and I might lose some weight before the Christmas season starts!
  • I do spin classes and usually enjoy them, really hard work but great fun Recently I have tried the morning classes ( being just retired I now have the time) but there are a couple of women who just chat the whole way through. They do not seem to put any effort in and never break into a sweat. Then today one womean kept on…
  • I have just sarted body pump classes, exercises with weights. I am using 1kg weights, one at each end of the bar. At the strat of the class I was thinking this is easy, half way through it was not that easy. I hope to sklowly add the weights; most are on 2.5 kg then 3.5 and few really fit ones are on 5kg it is almost…
  • I have a heart rate monitor and it is about 200 cals a sessionj for level 1 still have not got to level 2!
  • I am trying all the different exercise classes at the gym. I did spin ( usual class) then tried legs, bums and tums. Not very aerobic I thought, not out of breath and could keep up pace although getting arms and legs going in the right direction at the right time was more difficult. Today I ACHE lots of slow squats really…
  • Goal for this week Gym classes 3-4 days a week. More walking JM shred (and eventually get above level 1)
  • Does your gym do classes? I find these are the best way to keep motivted. I have to book a spinning class the day before by 7.30AM as booked out pretty quickly. Once booked I feel morally bound to go as someone else wanted the place. Once there I can burn about 400 cals in one session and feel great. I then usually do a…
  • 1 Gym each day do class or 1 hour on equipment 2. Do Jllian Michaels shred DAILY 3 Walk more 4 No alcohol Monday to Friday
  • I now swerat more. After a spin class I can wring out the mpouisture in my sweat band. I have to keep moving it around otherwise the sweat falls in to my eyes. I look like a lobster at the end, bright red, dripping with sweat not a pretty sight but I do feel as though I have had a good workout. Running outside is better as…
  • I did a beginners running course. We ran 1 minute, walked 1.5 mins for 30 mins. Those at the front kept lopping round to the back so eevryone was leading at some point. We then had to do that 3 times a week our homework. The next week we ran 3 mins walked 2 for 30 mins then each week slowly increased it. Celebrate that you…
  • Hi I have just jo9ined and hope to do 80 miles this month. I tend to measure in km when running but it means at least 5km a day
  • Hi Rubyautumn4 have you got a very good sports bra. I am a DD and have maximum impact sports bra and it really does help with the jump bits. I always werar it for any sports activity even including walking ( it is part of telling my body it is about to burn calories).
  • I got the link to this chart from another MFP member and posted it here in case others need motivation like I do! I put it on my fridge so everyday I see how far I have come and that I CAN DO IT! http://start-living-the-dream.tumblr.com/post/22129647040/so-ive-been-slacking-and-need-to-start-over-with
  • Day 5 done, I had a day off on Sunday. Now determined to keep going and do it each day. I do feel better at the end but the cycle raises are still tough and so tempted to stop but so far got through it. I had been on a weight plateau for 2 weeks and finally it is starting to shift again.
  • Hi I am Jenny 65. I saw her on biggest loser and thought she was good. i have just bought a collection ( barging price) and started the 30 day shred. I can do it at home and NO-ONE can see me do it. I have found it not too bad ( day 4 level1) but sweat buckets by the end. When I have finished 30DS (if still alive) I will…
  • I went on a boot camp last year to lose weight for my son's wedding. I was the oldest by far but in the middle in terms of fitness. I lost 9lbs in one week but it was lots of exercise each day. This showed me I can do it but I want to lose the weight by a regime I can keep up not an intensive week. So the loss will be…
  • I just row on concept but son is proper rower which is why I got into it. I think the boat would sink if I got in! Did you look at nonathlon it is great as well We have lots of 5k runs every Sat called Park Runs all over the country which are free also loads of charity runs which are good fun, loads of people do walk/ run…
  • Have you tried a concept rower. There is an online logbook where you can log your rows and times. Certain times and distances are ranked and you can try and get up the ranking it is banded by age and weight. Also there is nonathlon which allows for age so the older you are the more points you get and also you can climb up…
  • Hi I am 65 and it is hard to shift the weight. I have been doing Round the World and burning over 1000cals most days and been on a weight loss plateau. I do know my shape is changing and the flab is looser ( but still there) I just have to stick with it and almost forget target dates. Weight loss is a bit like my running…
  • Day 4 level 1 done I think I am getting better I could do all the rope skips at the end instead of alternate feet. Still dripping by the time I have finished although heart rate not super high. Not sure I have heavy enough weights, I might have to buy some dumbells
  • Thanks I am putting large crosses through each day muscles I never knew I had ache!
  • I did the 10 mile Great South Run and was overtaken by a lorry pulled by 6 army guys then by an elderly blind runner with his running partner. Confirmed how slow I was!

  • i am also on a plateau and this is when I usually give up. I stupidly worked out that if I lost 1.5 lbs a week then I would be X lbs by a big event mid Sept. I had not factored in a plateau and now realise that I will not meet the weight I hoped to be. I am finding it difficult and half of me thinks "Oh blow it have a…
