It would help if we could see your diary. It's hard to tell what's going wrong without any data! So, are you weighing your food? Logging everything you eat? or are you guessing at portion sizes? It's really easy to overlook something or to eat more that you think if you are not accurately measuring everything. You are…

Do the math. You consistently go over in calories--you are NOT eating at a deficit. Also, the food you're eating is junk--way too much fast food, and skipping breakfast and lunch then binging at dinner. You need more fresh fruits and veggies and eat fewer calories!

Rant of the day: What's up with middle aged white dudes in do-rags hogging the rack???? Every time I go to the gym it's the same story, I finally butted in today after waiting 45 min and the SAME dude was there the whole time! They're also the same ones that just drop the weights after a rep. Annoying! Okay, I'm done…

I can totally relate. I once binged on rice cakes! You know, those little cardboard discs?!! Try eating some yogurt with fruit in it. Also, keep baby carrots around. Try not to kill anyone!

I had a bod pod done for $20. Not bad, but the results were eye-opening!

Hello, another newb here! I've been lurking for a while so I feel like I already know most of you! I started NROL4W last Wed, and talked hubby into starting NROL (he's starting today). We just finished P90X3 and I wanted to try something new.

I had the same question. I also read the entire book and was confused. Barbell it is!

ITA. Also, 2 of my 3 pages of saved meals aren't showing. Urgh.

Hey, you forgot the spit vs swallow-check!

Log all of your food! I looked at your diary and not much is there. If you will keep track of what you eat (yes, even if you go over!) you can get better advice from the forum. For example, the pizza rolls probably weren't the best choice. Maybe have 1 and add tuna to that salad for lunch instead. (avoid the processed…

I'm also in the 50+ age group. (54) I'll be starting tomorrow, yoga/stretching in the am w/hubby and NROL in the afternoon.

I think the "bad" diet is referring to too many calories. If you eat cheesecake and fries every day, it'll be really hard to burn more than you consume. How many posts have we seen that complain that they're working out, eating clean but still not losing. It's all about calories in calories out. Exercise alone isn't enough…

Do you have the Core or the Link? I think the Link is still okay but the Core is messed up due to a change in the algorithm in early March. It overestimates about 500 cals/day in my case.

This. ^^^^^^ Also, YOU CAN lose weight after 50! (I'm 54) but it takes a bit more dedication. WEIGH YOUR FOOD!!!! Overestimating or failing to count the little nibbles is what derailed me in the beginning. Log EVERYTHING and you'll probably be surprised at how many calories you are really eating.

I put carrots in my bra to feed the horses at my turnaround point :-) I'll have a tough time explaining that if I ever end up in the hospital!
-
If you get the BodyMedia armband get the link NOT the core! They screwed up the algorithms on the core and it over estimates calorie burns--close to 500 calls a day for me. I ditched my account because of this. I loved the accuracy and the way it accounts for the after-burn with weight training, but, it sure is ugly to…
-
I ditched mine (core) after the algorhythm change as well. It started overestimating by about 500 cals a day! I'm back with the fitbit now, which is okay, but I miss my old & accurate BM core.

No pic so I'll guess 35

Not me. I cook and you can eat it or fix something yourself. I want for my family to eat just as healthy as I am, and for my kids to develop healthy eating habits. Are you planning to cook separate meals for the rest of your life? If you revert back to eating the way you did before you are doomed to regain after you reach…
