I've been teaching for 29 yrs--elementary art. My tips are: NEVER eat in the lunchroom, pack your own healthy lunches/breakfasts and NEVER use the vending machine! Make time for exercise, I work out at 5 am before school.

This. Lead by example, listen and hold your tongue. Telling her how to diet or what to do will only turn her away. You can't change anyone but yourself. Take over some of the cooking and shopping (for yourself of course).

I've had a Smooth 9.2 for about 15 yrs, and I've run to the moon and back on it. It is fantastic and I highly recommend!

"I am also choosing to go for easy healthy foods as a lunch especially. My lunch usually consists of baby carrots, cucumbers, celery, and ranch (which I really enjoy and it's really filling!), however when I don't have dinner with my family I have a REALLY hard time making my net calorie goal. I tend to go with the easy…

I LOVE my BM armband! I have tracked calories in/out for a month, and lost exactly what it projected I should. I also have the fitbit but it isn't as accurate, especially if you lift weights. Drawback is you have an ugly armband to look at. Meh, doesn't bother me that much.

Hi, second round for me. I got kicked out about mid-way last month ;-) I have some big challenges this month. Both of my kids have birthdays (cake) and I'll be making a trip home to visit Mom. My daily goal is at least 10K steps and burn 500cals more than I eat each day. I wear a BodyMedia armband, so I can keep track of…

I'd try cleaning up your diet some. Lower the carbs and up the protein. Ditch the bars and go for unprocessed. Then, shake up your workout routine. HIIT workouts, or maybe just adding in sprints. Finally, be patient and aim for .5 lb a week.

I would love to set up a spreadsheet like yours. Can you share the template? I'm a data idiot, and wannabe data nerd. ;-)
-
Love it! I'd really like to adapt this for my own use, but need some help. Now for us data idiots--how do you change to inches/pounds. (pretend you're explaining it to a 5 year old!) And what else would I need to change besides starting date, weight and age?

I would call the company, sounds wrong to me. Mine is pretty accurate.

Sleep apnea can be very serious. My brother-in-law had a massive stroke because of apnea. BTW, he was incredibly fit and not overweight. You really can't tell if you have it unless you have a study done. I went to the sleep doctor becauseI couldn't fall asleep, and when I finally did, I would wake up at 2 am and not be…

Hey everyone. I'm Kelley and 54 which makes me the "older broad". I've been working on this last 10 lbs--well, since my kids were born. (They're 22 & 23 now) I've lost then regained the same 5 lbs nearly every year-but I'm determined, this will be the one that works! I'm with you on the NO EXCUSES JANUARY!!!! I lift weight…

I cook healthy meals for the whole family. No short order cook here--if you don't like it, help yourself to the cereal. I also don't buy junk food, no chips, cookies or candy. We rarely eat out or get take out, I plan ahead and cook every day. (and yes, I have a full time job as well). The whole family is healthier as a…
