I have a desk job and sometimes you just have to snack. Usually so you don't dive into the cupcakes or pizza brought in. Lol. My emergency snack are almonds! I have a bag that stays in my desk just in case!

For the first time this summer my feet and ankles would randomly swell up. I thought it might be the heat, but nothing worked to relieve the pressure I felt from it. After 1 week of Paleo - no more swelling!

Try to stick to what you normally would eat. Do not hit up our fast food chains... they are all horrid. As far as our FDA guidelines on our food... take that with a grain of salt. This is actually my first day on this. I'm a cubical dweller for 40+ hrs a week so it's *very* easy for me to graze all day. And then I get home and have to make a big meal for my family of 4. My goal is to stick with it for the rest of the year! I can't tell you how many times I've "restarted" this journey. I've set it up to lose 1 lb a week right now. I feel I'll be more successful at sticking with it at a lower goal. Here's to 2013!!!

I had coworkers tell me the same thing a few weeks ago when I was eating Reese's cups (a weakness of mine). "How can that be in your diet?!" "Uhh... cuz I'm not going over my calorie goal.." If it's not broke... don't fix it! :)

My *fav* recipe is cooking the ground beef with taco seasoning, mixing it in a bowl with veggies (I use mixed veggies because it brings a lot of color to the dish) and add some rice! After reading this, I did some quick research and I think this might be what I'm looking for! I'm just starting out (again) and 1200 calories doesn't seem to go a long way.
