Trust the HRM

@Marcillene it sounds like you have like 10x more issues than the rest. Maybe you need to move or its time to accept these flaws.
-
Well I have nice new balance running shoes but they are really made for the side to side movement and tend to give a bit less support.

bump

That sounds expensive!

Cold during the day and room temp during workouts...

I had one for about a year. I would say if you can afford it trying one once a week or occasionally for some new workout ideas, circuits and help with proper weight and form. Then you can take what your learn and apply it throughout the week.
-
Running stores are very helpful and they work with new runners every single day. That is absolutely the best thing to do for your first pair. After going once they should be able to help you identify the types of shoes you can buy in the future.
-
A lb a week is what you should be aiming for as healthy weighloss. Especially if you only have 20 to lose that is great. Some people on this site have 100+ lbs to lose which is obviously going to be a bit quicker at the start than those like us with 20-30lbs

are there any cushioned high school tracks or anything around? that might help. Also, your shoes... have you been to a running shop or anything to make sure they are right for your arc/stride? The right shoes go a long way.

Oddly the muscles that seem to be hurting me the most during and after the workouts are my shoulders. All of the plank positions and stretches really seem to make them ache.
-
You need to eat more than that if your doing insanity. I would recommend a larger breakfast and maybe an additional healthy snack throughout the day.
-
What she said. A lot of these moves are going to be really tough during the first few weeks.
-
I just hope that the crazy amount of cals burned according to my HRM keeps me going. I like seeing those big numbers.
-
I currently drink chocolate milk after workouts but its sometimes a bit heavy. How does the Gatorade stuff taste? Is it for sale at your grocery store?
-
I started yesterday as well!

I have an FT7 and love it. It is a nice motivator in my opinion.
