I had no idea what a portion size looked like so I definitely like using the scale. It helps me a lot to measure everything.

I have a protein shake every morning... I add a banana, cinnamon, 1 T of peanut butter and I love it. (I use the chocolate protein powder)

I found I have to be careful what my calories consist of (meaning I count everything I eat, but I cant eat fries, fried foods in those calories Im guessing because of the fat content), but I have added an occasional fudge bar which is only 110 calories a couple times a week. It really curbs those cravings.
