Former mathlete in high school. That's right, competitive math team. I know I can sit here. lol.

I totally understand about vague 'knee issues'. I'm pretty sure mine is just that I'm overweight, and have weak muscles overall, causing too much stress on the knee joint itself that normally the muscles would help with. I've been to the knee doctor, many times, though not lately as there seemed little point. My official…

I cooked it, we ate it, all is well. :) I probably overdid it in a bit of paranoia. The legs both fell right off the turkey when taking it out of pan.... but did it in one of those oven bags, so all moist anyways. I did listen a bit anyways, and did the stuffing in a crock pot. This was actually a lot neater and easier on…

I knew you guys would have a lot to say about this, and I do appreciate all your answers. I wanted to get a general consensus. Yes I know how it was SUPPOSED to be defrosted. It was just so big I was afraid the three days in the fridge drill wouldn't work. I seriously didn't intend to leave it out of the fridge for more…

Smart and funny always does it for me. Tall a bonus. Kills it: bad skin, tips waitstaff poorly, calls/texts constantly... (I need space...lol)

I like Rachael Ray, cause her meals are easy... and usually reasonably healthy. I like Giada Delaurentis, but her stuff is more fussy. I like Jamie Oliver because he is just so damn cute. I used to like to watch Martha Stewart just to laugh at how elaborate things would get.... (like she has to go out to the yard in her…

Gosh, I thought I WAS wearing good shoes.... new balance sneakers, munro's and clarks for work. I do wear crocs a ton when its warmer, but I've not had them on in months. Shopping for danskos now... and then some kind of night brace. The good news is I am not likely to gain weight from this, as I wasn't really exercising…

I'm 5'6", was a normal weight as a child and young adult. Was probably about 130 in high school. Maybe 135-140-145 through college.... and then I'd say I was on a steady slow gain, about 5 pounds a year, more or less, stabilizing at about 180-185, which I weighed for probably ten years, and consider/ed my 'normal' weight.…

lemon juice, was the thing I couldn't think of... I wound up mixing !-2 T olive oil 2-3 T lemon juice 3 cloves chopped garlic and dumping it over a bowl of broccoli florets, and putting in a pan in 420 oven for 20 minutes. added kosher salt over top at end. Not bad at all. Had it with pan seared salmon. A pinch of parm…

Cheese would be good.... pounds and pounds of cheddar... No wait, I'm trying to lose weight. meh. Perhaps a *little* parm

Glad it went well :) Yeah, texas cavier is yummy, its the chips that'll kill you on that one. I'm sure you're just up on water retention, not from the party. It'll go back down. GL! ps I'd choose the liquid dessert myself... ;)

Bought it... didn't try yet though. Surprise, tofu is cheap! I got like three little boxes of it at costco for 4.99! Also excited about the high protein content. That alone is exciting.... I just need to get the basil and I'll get back to you on this :)

Yes, I hate when they get smaller than me on BL. What is really confusing for me is when they weigh less than me, but I think they look worse, because I can only assume they are very short, or have an apple distribution, while I've got the pear... Also, this year, I watched with my kids, and they both asked, in all…

I try not to think this way, that people are looking down on me. If a nasty thought like this Does manage to creep in, I remind myself that they are probably stupid, and I feel better. lol. Seriously, anyone who would actually say something nasty to you about your weight, or give you looks, is just so not worth your time…

I have to say I'm a little nervous to buy tofu. lol. However... Alice.... you are right, you never steer us wrong, plus, you have good taste. In fact, I finally bought the shiritaki noodles, now they wait in the fridge for me to be brave enough to make your recipe. ;) Will buy the tofu, this one looks easy. :)

Hmmm... and my one line answers... 1. Thank God for that... and 2. Who can tell a man anything and get him to listen?? ;)

Interesting... and yet again, I can see why I weigh more than 200... the pasta, the cheese, the french fries... are about 1/4 of the amount I'd normally want, and that wouldn't be all that meal contained... *sighs* I really need to continue brainwashing myself into more fruits and veggies. I like them... I just like carbs…

Cheddar is orange, and damn tastier than american.... ;)

I always like good old fashioned trivial pursuit. Pictionary can be fun. "you don't know jack' is funny too, a computer trivia game, I'm not sure if you can download it easily/cheaply, but I really like it, and theres a time factor on answers too. Oh, and the guy makes fun of you when you get it wrong... its amusing. Make…

I gave up the cheese battle long ago. Despite being exposed to all sorts of other cheeses... my kids want orange american cheese on their sandwiches... (Though the girl has recently decided she doesn't want cheese on her sandwich at all, I'm not sure whats wrong with her....lol.) I tried to convince them white american was…

I disagree dirtnap, its not asking for an evaluation by others... its asking what your favorite is when you look at yourself, which is a different question. One I have a bit of trouble with being quite prone to self-bashing about appearance, deserved or not, so a thread like this is good for me... to say something nice…

I actually don't even like them.... miracle of miracles...lol. Good luck people. :)

I feel for you, I don't do great with exercise either. I'm a lot older than you though... from what I can remember, when I was 22, even though I was overweight, I could do whatever without pain. Maybe I felt like I was going to die from the cardio I was never used to doing... but I could do it, the knees were not the…

Yeah, I've had the sneaking suspicion for awhile now that *that* is my issue. Of course not wanting that to be the case, I'm trying to change every other thing I can think of first. :(
-
Yeah, I'm having a lot of trouble too. I've been up 4-5 pounds since I hit my 'low' weight in mid December. I didn't think I was 'that' bad... but I guess I have been. I'd hoped it would go away after New years... but no, I can't seem to get back in the groove of losing weight. Since I only lost 15 pounds to start with...…

No wonder they're so damn yummy.

A layer of spinach in the middle of it is yummy too, and adds vitamins...

I did this... and it was good.... served over pasta with some parm cheese on top. Kids edited out all the red bell peppers... silly children... more for me.. :D I actually only used half the tenderloin, and tonight I may do one of the baked options with the rest of it.... Thanks MFPers :)

This is not at all easy. The new macros are kicking my butt, now I'm never 'right' in the breakdowns... and I guess its probably what I needed to change to see better progress. Seems quite hard to keep the carbs down and the protein up. Will update after a couple more weeks.
