I use a measurement tape too. I lost only 8 lbs after hitting the gym regularly but 3 inches off my hips and another 3 off my waist. I do see the scale stay stagnant for long periods at a time and then weight will come off pretty easily.

I am almost 5'2 and 140 lbs. I never use the calorie counts because I do feel they way over calculate. For intense super sweaty exercise, I calculate a calorie per minute. For moderate to easy exercise where I might have a minimal amount of sweat, I calculate 1/2 calorie per minute.

Do like 10 reps of planks for as long as you can. The next day tighten or engage your core. Your core will be super sore so you will know when you are tightening it up with other exercises

My boyfriend swears doing unweighted squats with toes a couple inches from the wall will help with my form. Those make me want to fall over or hold onto the wall.... still can't imagine bringing this to the gym with me... the laughs would never stop

I try to talk myself down. I look up the calories. I try to contract with myself not to eat it and find a healthy or healthier alternative. For me, icecream is really tough to refuse but I try to make a frozen fruit and milk smoothie. Frozen smoothies are very enjoyable for me and not nearly the calories as icecream. I…

Not to generalize but I have just about always dated men that can eat whatever they want and all my female friends and I have to eat a certain way to not gain weight. Some things have helped in the past. I have an extra drawer that I tell myself to never open... perfect for treats. I like to have a candy dish for guests…

I sucked at running... the kind of sucking where a mile felt like the end of the world. I did the couch to 5k program partially through a few times but always repeated every week at least twice. I started jogging on the treadmill in intervals and slowly increased my pace. If you are trying to increase speed without feeling…

Click on the name and then there will be the little figure with the plus sign

I am not personally serious enough to ask for a credit score or throw out any deal breakers on a first date. I can understand how others feel differently about the topic.
-
Lots of people have bad credit. If it is a deal breaker wouldn't you rather know up front then date that person? Ok... maybe not the 1st date but maybe the 5th?? I dated a smoker because he said up front that he smokes but was quitting. He knew my stance on it. Well he never quite and I never want to live with a smoker. It…

I have weighed my splash of milk plenty. I just count it as 2 oz of milk every time now

Men look down on it when I ask and frankly it is awkward but no one has ever chose not to go. Better safe then sorry
-
I hit plateaus frequently and then all of a sudden I will drop 2 pounds at once. Stay consistent with reduced calories and/or more exercise and the results will come

Cheaters are cheaters no matter who you are. If a respectable man really couldn't handle the way you look, he would have politely broken up with you.
-
A noticed a lot of comments about how it shouldn't matter. I couldn't date someone knowing the relationship may never progress. Finances generally become combined and I would lose my sanity with someone who was living beyond their/our means. If the mortgage needs to be paid and he goes and spends all the checking and…

If I was still in the online dating scene, I would totally have a headline like "Rocking a credit score or 783" lol. It would be funny and is kinda a running joke. I get that it is important but it is really weird to straight ask. A headline like that would open up the conversation and I somehow feel your awesome headline…

Hit the weights for toned muscle. My boyfriend likes to remind me that it takes years for men like him to bulk.... it wont happen to anyone, male or female, accidently. Heavy leg and glute exercises will tone you up a lot. My butt and legs look way more toned after I started lifting heavier. You can have a body fat test…

I count plain sparkling water and plain tea as water. I count coffee, anything with sweetener (even stevia) and beverages with added calories (like chai tea with milk) separately from my water intake.

Agree with above. That being said I do think they are mostly a waste. I was all excited when I could finally afford personal training sessions and the first session was basically just talking. The second session she pushed way WAY to hard... the kind of hard where I was worried of an injury and had to tell her no to a few…

If the expense is truly out of the question, I feel there are other options. Maybe sign up for a class that introduces you to new exercises? It would be way cheaper if it isnt already included in a membership. Maybe you will meet a new workout buddy in one of the classes. Your gym might offer a one time free training…

An easy daily goal is helpful for me. I often make that goal to not touch the free donuts at work, lol. Sometimes I only do one goal and sometimes I do a few. I try to make my daily goals pretty easy where I feel a little silly if I don't meet my goal. When my only goal is to not touch the free donuts, I am pretty good at…

Finding permanent replacements for items I really enjoy helps a lot for me. I use to eat a ton of ice cream, like a couple cups several times a week. Turns out frozen smoothies are just as satisfying for me. Just frozen fruit and coconut water or some kind of milk.... not nearly as many calories. I do meal prep in these 4…

sweet potato with cinnamon or brown rice 220 calories, 7 oz (raw) chicken breast 200ish, 8 oz green veggie like broccoli 80... that is over a pound of food
-
I am on Pinterest a ton. I will have to check it out! Thank you for the tip! Allrecipes.com has recipes that are all calorie counted although you have to search for lower calorie dishes
-
I only do a few days at a time or I ended up wasting food. My favorite is white fish with smokehouse maple seasoning, sweet potato with cinnamon and whatever green veggie I feel like.

Breatharians :)

lol. I haven't heard that one... a pint of water weighs a pound so if you put the pound of water in your belly, you will weigh a pound more

Someone mentioned oats don't have gluten. From my understanding oats often have significant cross contamination with wheat products/gluten. If you truly have a gluten allergy or sensitivity, oats might not be the best idea. I love oats!

I think it would be hard to get the same spike in blood sugar from apples as apple juice. Apples have fiber to slow down the metabolism of the sugar. Apple juice is much easier to consume. A person can easily down a 16 ounce glass of juice but can't easily eat 3 apples. Just to throw it out there I don't actually know how…

It is not accurate to say that an average persons blood sugar doesn't normally surpass 100. An average persons FASTING blood sugar shouldn't be above 100. The fiber in unrefined products does in fact slow down the metabolism of sugar/carbs and therefor does not cause the same spike in refined sugar/carbs.
